What is our spirit

We are going on a journey or an adventure together. We are going on a journey of discovering how to engage the spiritual realms. We are discovering the realms within us, around us and the heavenly realms. There are two main pathways that we are going to follow.

The pathway of relationship that leads to deeper intimacy with God. This pathway Flows from the inside out – from the glory inside of our spirit to our gateways of spirit, soul, and body to the world around us.

The pathway of responsibility leads to greater kingdom rulership. This pathway flows from outside in, it flows from heaven to earth as we become bondservants and living sacrifices unto the Lord to rule here on earth.

A pathway is simply describing our walk with God. The pathway of intimacy deals with our life here on earth and the pathway of responsibility deals with our life in the heavenly places in Christ where we are seated to rule with Him bring heaven down to earth.

What is our spirit?  Where does our spirit come from?  What is our spirit made of?  Where is our spirit?  What does our spirit do?  How do we engage our spirit?

1 John 5:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light.

John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

God is Spirit, God is light. We are spirit and our spirit is light.

We pre-existed in eternity as thoughts within the heart or mind of God. Psa 139:13 For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.  16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance and in Your book were all written. The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.

Our spirit is our eternal essence it came from eternity and will return to eternity. The word for spirit is Rûaḥ in the Hebrew and means spirit, wind or breath. In the Greek the word spirit is Pneuma and means a current of air, breath, by analogy or figurative a spirit. Our spirit is directly related to our breath. When we stop breathing out spirit leaves our body and goes back to eternity. Ecc 3:21

Our spirit entered our cells at conception. Our spirit is the center of our being – our inner most being. Our spirit is the purest representation of our true self. Our spirit is not limited by time and space

Where is our spirit?  Our spirit dwells in the brain and spinal column cavity and is separated from our blood. Our spirit engages our soul/heart & body via the nervous system. As a man thinks in his heart so is he. Our heart programs our blood which forms in our marrow that is cleansed by the words of faith engaged in communion.

Our red blood cells contain no DNA, the nucleus in our cells carry oxygen- breath to the brain. Our human life (soul) is in the blood Gen 9:4. This can be programmed by our spirit. White blood cells contain record of 22 + 22 autosomes generational genetic programming & 1+1 chromosomes.

Our DNA can be epigenetically re-sequenced by frequency (energy), light, sound, but also by trauma and nurture.

Our spirit is a dimensional place that God dwells in and that can dwell in God.

John 14:16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper… 17 that is the Spirit of truth… He abides with you and will be in you.

John 14:20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 23 … We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

We are spirit, soul and body. We are spirit, the eternal essence of God within that receives spiritual revelation.  We are a spirit being that is God conscious. We are a soul that is self-conscious and makes us a human being. Our spirit and soul make us a living being.

In Adam the spirit was outside the body and as a light being he could travel in the spiritual realms.

Psa 8:4 What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? 5 Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! 6 You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet.

What is spirit?  Definition – Matter that out of which, or from which, any being, existence, or entity is formed.  Every material thing is made out of some material substance.  That substance can be changed but not destroyed.

Spirit is a substance, therefore every spiritual existence is formed from some spiritual substance. Human beings are a spirit as to one part of their nature, and that part is formed of spiritual substances.

Spirit is a substance, and has forms, qualities, modes, and established laws of existence relatively the same as matter. Spiritual substances bear the same relations to each other, that material substances do. Material substances are solid, fluid, and gas.

Spiritual objects are hard and soft, solid and fluid, cold and hot, light and heavy, rough and smooth, transparent and opaque, and are of every conceivable form, color and quality, the same as objects have in this natural world – and more.

Spiritual substances have many qualities that are impossible for material objects to have, and they are altogether superior. The spiritual world is similar to the natural world in general appearance, but superior to it in every quality.

Where is that spiritual world?  It is here; and it is everywhere around and within the material universe.  We are connected to the spiritual world now, though we are not conscious of it.

Many instances are given in the bible of persons who saw the spiritual world, while they were still in this natural world, they must have seen it with their spiritual eyes.  For it requires a spiritual eye to see a spiritual object.

The spiritual world is present in the material world, maintains it in existence, and operates all the changes in it.

Heb 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.

Heb 1:3 He upholds all things by the word of His power.

Why is the spirit so important?  Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of man is the lamp of the LORD, searching all the innermost parts of his being.

1 Cor 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things.

1 Cor 2:9 but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

1 Cor 2:11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God.

Our spirit has eyes, ears, emotions and has 9 senses or abilities or gateways. The Love of God, Fear of God, Reverence, Prayer, Faith, Hope, Revelation, Intuition, Worship.

If we don’t use any part of us it atrophies, wastes away. We need physical exercise – muscles. We need brain exercises – synapses firing. But most importantly we need spiritual exercise for our spirit to grow strong. We need to learn to build up and grow our spirit.

Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil. This is talking about spiritual senses.

We need to begin some training exercises. It can be compared to scaffolding which is needed to build a house. We must develop a spiritual lifestyle.

How do we develop our spirit?  Fellowship- spending time with God in our spirit – This causes absorption or osmosis. Our spirit is like a sponge. We need to speak, pray & sing in tongues, this activates our spirit, strengthens it through exercise. We need to meditate on word of God; our spirit needs to be feed. We need to learn how to Meditate visually – Beholding to become like Him

We need to learn how to wait on the Lord – Be still, sense Him spiritually – know Him. We have two sides to our physical brain, the left side, which is creative, imaginative, visual. This side of the brain is usually not developed properly in the west, but overseas we see a lot of miracles because that side of the brain has been developed. The right side of our brain has to do with our intellect. When the right side of our brain is developed and not the left, then reason takes over and we don’t believe in miracles, or it blocks our faith from functioning properly.

We need to practice praise, worship, adoration and preserve in it. We start out with a desire, and then we discipline ourselves, and eventually it becomes a delight. Our disciple is to have a meeting with the Lord, to experienced Him, to have encounters with Him. Are you willing to cultivate desire?

Our spirit has a language. This language is called speaking or praying in tongues. It is the language of the Holy Spirit; He gives the utterance. He communicates through us. It is a spiritual gift. It can be received through laying on of hands. Or in private where the Spirit of God comes upon us. Tongues is a gateway gift; it leads us into the gifts of the Spirit.

1 Cor 14:2 For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. 4 One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, 14 for if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15 What is the outcome then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the mind also.

Speaking with other tongues is designed to equip us from the inside out. It affects the part of us from which all permanent change comes — the human spirit

Tongues is an activation gift, where the gifts of the Spirit begin to operate in our lives.

1 Cor 14:1 Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, 1 Cor 14: Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual gifts.

Focus is always on the giver and not the gift. 1 Cor 13:1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,

John 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Luke 24:49 And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

Acts 1:5 but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

Being baptized in the Spirit is to be immersed in God, the Spirit of God filling and penetrating every part of our being.

Act 2:1 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.
