To understand God’s plan for us to have kingdom rule, we need to look at the Old Testament and see the forerunners to this kingdom.
The glory of the latter kingdom is greater than the former kingdom.
Jesus has now ascended and has been crowned the King and has sat down at the right hand of the Father.
As we begin to realize that the kingdom is here now, we will begin to advance it, and understand his plan for us to rule it, because Jesus is the King of the kings and queens who shall rule it with Him. It will extend through the universes which are ever expanding inside of Him.
First prophetic word- Gen 3: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
God said-from Eve’s seed or genealogy would come forth a man who would destroy Satan’s rule and power in this earth. This word was over an ancestral line.
This word terrified Satan and a huge portion of Old Testament Scripture centers on Satan trying to stop this word coming to pass.
Satan would do anything to stop this word from coming to pass. He had to stop this word, to stop the seed being born, a four-thousand year battle.
Satan was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44), he entered into Cain and killed Able, to stop the word from coming to pass.
Now Seth was born. The name Seth in the Hebrew means a substitute. Now we have the Sethanites and the Canaanites, Two lines in the earth.
Now we understand why Joshua was commanded to kill all the Canaanites.
Now Satan has to kill all the Sethanites. How is He going to do it? So he tells his angels go overshadow the women (Gen 6:1)- the result-half Angel half human-Giants.( Gen 6:4)
Now God must destroy the whole human race-flood (Gen 6:8)
Now in fear of another flood, Satan enters the sons of nimrod and they build the tower of Babel (Gen 11:4) So God has to scatter them.
Eventually, we come to Abraham whom God calls- come out of Babylon. (Gen 12:1 )
This instantly meant danger for Abraham. So, Satan makes Sarah barren. Abraham intercedes and God heals Sarah. Now Isaac, the child of promise is born.
So Satan makes Rebecca barren. Isaac intercedes for his wife and God heals her. (Gen 25:21)
Now twins are in Rebecca’s womb. Satan is going to cause Esau to be born first-Who God rejects, and he changes the rules Jacob will inherit the birthright and blessing. The elder never served the younger!
Jacob grows to be a man with a tribe of about seventy people. So, Satan decides I will kill them all with a famine. (Gen 41:56)
So God decides to use Joseph to save them- The word he gave Joseph tried Him until it came to pass.
So along comes Moses- So Satan decides I am going to kill all these Hebrew babies, and gets inside Pharaoh (Ex 2:1)
The next crisis came in Egypt with Moses. Pharaoh decreed that all Hebrew male children must die, and in doing this the whole nation would disappear within two generations. It was obvious that Satan was becoming desperate to block the prophetic word given in Eden.
Many years later the Word comes Gen 49: 10 The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come.
So, the seed of the woman is going to come through Judah.
So, it starts with David, Satan gets inside Saul and tries to kill him.
Well, that did not work, So Satan decides I will kill all the kings of Judah.
The kings of Judah became an endangered species. So God Hides Joash (2 Chr 22:11The whole line was wiped out except for one baby.
I Forgot about Rahab and Esther, but finally the seed of the woman comes down to an engaged girl called Mary(Luke 1:35)
So, Satan gets into Herod is going to kill all the male babies from 2 and under.
ISAIAH 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
Verse 10. It says that He (Jesus) shall see His seed and this will cause His days to be prolonged in the earth.
Jesus never married, so he had no natural children, yet Isaiah 53:10 tells us He would see His seed and prolong His days on the earth through this seed. We are that seed.
The kingdom was revealed to Enoch when he used to sit on His great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather Adam’s lap, and He told Enoch what it was like to walk with God and how God wanted to establish His kingdom in heaven, through him in the earth.
Gen5:3 And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.
Adam fell from the image of God when he willfully ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and then bore a son after his fallen image.
Enoch was the seventh generation of Adam.
Genesis 5: 22And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: 23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: 24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Enoch began his walk with God when He was sixty-five years old. At the age of sixty-five the Lord revealed to him that He was going to send a flood and destroy all flesh on the earth when his son died who was not born yet. So, he named his son Methuselah which means man of the dart, or he dies and it (the flood) is sent.
This revelation put the fear of God in his heart, so he surrendered his life to God 100 percent and started walking with God to the point, he became so much like Him that he was translated without experiencing death.
Genesis 6: 9These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. 10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth
WE see the Clash of the Kingdoms in Genesis 14 we see God’s plan for kingdom rule.
Lot Taken Captive Because of Lot’s lack of wisdom in staying in the vicinity of Sodom and Gomorrah, the four attacking kings hold him captive.
GENESIS 14:8-12 AND THE KING OF SODOM, THE KING OF GOMORRAH, THE KING OF ADMAH, THE KING OF ZEBOIIM, AND THE KING OF BELA (THAT IS, ZOAR) WENT OUT AND JOINED TOGETHER IN BATTLE IN THE VALLEY OF SIDDIM AGAINST CHEDORLAOMER KING OF ELAM, TIDAL KING OF NATIONS, AMRAPHEL KING OF SHINAR, AND ARIOCH KING OF ELLASAR—FOUR KINGS AGAINST FIVE. NOW THE VALLEY OF SIDDIM WAS FULL OF ASPHALT PITS; AND THE KINGS OF SODOM AND GOMORRAH FLED; SOME FELL THERE, AND THE REMAINDER FLED TO THE MOUNTAINS. THEN THEY TOOK ALL THE GOODS OF SODOM AND GOMORRAH, AND ALL THEIR PROVISIONS, AND WENT THEIR WAY. THEY ALSO TOOK LOT, ABRAM’S BROTHER’S SON WHO DWELT IN SODOM, AND HIS GOODS, AND DEPARTED.
Abraham Delivers Lot
Although not called a king, Abraham acts like one, gathering his men to attack the four kings and rescue his foolish nephew.
GENESIS 14:14,16 NOW WHEN ABRAM HEARD THAT HIS BROTHER WAS TAKEN CAPTIVE, HE ARMED HIS THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN TRAINED SERVANTS WHO WERE BORN IN HIS OWN HOUSE, AND WENT IN PURSUIT AS FAR AS DAN. SO HE (ABRAM) BROUGHT BACK ALL THE GOODS, AND ALSO BROUGHT BACK HIS BROTHER LOT AND HIS GOODS, AS WELL AS THE WOMEN AND THE PEOPLE.
Abram, the father of faith, teaches us that although we may not seem like kings in the eyes of the world, we are more than able to set the captives free.
As soon as Abraham defeats the four kings, the king of Salem reveals Himself to Abram. He is the man with whom Yahweh is about to make a covenant of faith.
God’s Plan for Kingdom Rule through the Royal Order of Melchizedek
God’s plan for kingdom rule was to be through the order of Melchizedek.
Melchizedek is a King and a Priest of God

PSALM 110:4 THE LORD HAS SWORN AND WILL NOT RELENT, “YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK.”
Jesus is of the Order of Melchizedek
HEBREWS 6:20 WHERE THE FORERUNNER HAS ENTERED FOR US, EVEN JESUS, HAVING BECOME HIGH PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK.
The Order of Melchizedek is Royal
Returning to the Messianic psalm written by David. The context is the coronation of Jesus because Jesus is receiving His kingdom in this Psalm.
PSALM 110:1 THE LORD (FATHER GOD) SAID TO MY LORD (JESUS), “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, TILL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES YOUR FOOTSTOOL.”
This is God’s plan for a Nation of Kings and Priests.
The cornerstone to the current reformation is that it was always God’s plan to have a family of sons and daughters, that would rule with Him over His vast Kingdom.
EPHESIANS 1:4-5 JUST AS HE CHOSE US IN HIM BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, THAT WE SHOULD BE HOLY AND WITHOUT BLAME BEFORE HIM IN LOVE, HAVING PREDESTINED US TO ADOPTION AS SONS BY JESUS CHRIST TO HIMSELF, ACCORDING TO THE GOOD PLEASURE OF HIS WILL
It is also true that God has always planned to rule through these sons and daughters who would be a nation of kings and priests.
EXODUS 19:6 AND YOU SHALL BE TO ME A KINGDOM OF PRIESTS AND A HOLY NATION. THESE ARE THE WORDS WHICH YOU SHALL SPEAK TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.
This promise came through to the New Covenant:
1PETER 2:9 BUT YOU ARE A CHOSEN GENERATION, A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, HIS OWN SPECIAL PEOPLE, THAT YOU MAY PROCLAIM THE PRAISES OF HIM WHO CALLED YOU OUT OF DARKNESS INTO HIS MARVELOUS LIGHT;
God’s Plan for Kingdom Rule is Through the Son of King David.
Jesus Quotes this same Psalm, Proving that He is the Son of King David
LUKE 20:41-43 AND HE SAID TO THEM, “HOW CAN THEY SAY THAT THE CHRIST IS THE SON OF DAVID? NOW DAVID HIMSELF SAID IN THE BOOK OF PSALMS: ‘THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, TILL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES YOUR FOOTSTOOL.” ’
Because of this, Jesus is qualifying Himself to be the Messiah.
The Jews Coronated Jesus, the Jewish Messiah.
MATTHEW 21:5 “TELL THE DAUGHTER OF ZION, ‘BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING TO YOU, LOWLY, AND SITTING ON A DONKEY, A COLT, THE FOAL OF A DONKEY.’ ”
Because of this prophecy, Jesus, moving in the word of knowledge, tells the disciples where to find the donkey. The Jews confirm His Kingly authority as a result, and all of Jerusalem (the natural Zion) hears of it:
MATTHEW 21:9-10 THEN THE MULTITUDES WHO WENT BEFORE AND THOSE WHO FOLLOWED CRIED OUT, SAYING: “HOSANNA TO THE SON OF DAVID! ‘BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!’ HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST!” AND WHEN HE HAD COME INTO JERUSALEM, ALL THE CITY WAS MOVED, SAYING, “WHO IS THIS?”
God’s Plan for Kingdom Rule is no Longer Through Jesus as King of the Jews
Jesus was born King of the Jews
MATTHEW 2:1-2 NOW AFTER JESUS WAS BORN IN BETHLEHEM OF JUDEA IN THE DAYS OF HEROD THE KING, BEHOLD, WISE MEN FROM THE EAST CAME TO JERUSALEM, SAYING, “WHERE IS HE WHO HAS BEEN BORN KING OF THE JEWS? FOR WE HAVE SEEN HIS STAR IN THE EAST AND HAVE COME TO WORSHIP HIM.”
Jesus, king of all Humanity who come to Him in Humility However, it is the Jewish shepherds and foreigners whom God causes to honor the new king.
Their humility immediately declares a mystery that Jesus is not just king of the Jews, but God’s plan for Kingdom rule is to all humanity and those who walk in humility.
This immediately declares a mystery, that Jesus is not meant to be just king of the Jews, but God’s plan for Kingdom rule is to the whole of humanity, and to those who walk in humility.
The Jews look for THEIR king.
MATTHEW 20:20-21 THEN THE MOTHER OF ZEBEDEE’S SONS CAME TO HIM WITH HER SONS, KNEELING DOWN AND ASKING SOMETHING FROM HIM. AND HE SAID TO HER, “WHAT DO YOU WISH?” SHE SAID TO HIM, “GRANT THAT THESE TWO SONS OF MINE MAY SIT, ONE ON YOUR RIGHT HAND AND THE OTHER ON THE LEFT, IN YOUR KINGDOM.”
The Kingdom of the Jews Finished on the Cross and is now Dead
JOHN 19:19-22 NOW PILATE WROTE A TITLE AND PUT IT ON THE CROSS. AND THE WRITING WAS: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. THEN MANY OF THE JEWS READ THIS TITLE, FOR THE PLACE WHERE JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED WAS NEAR THE CITY; AND IT WAS WRITTEN IN HEBREW, GREEK, AND LATIN. THEREFORE THE CHIEF PRIESTS OF THE JEWS SAID TO PILATE, “DO NOT WRITE, ‘THE KING OF THE JEWS,’ BUT, ‘HE SAID, “I AM THE KING OF THE JEWS.” ’ ” PILATE ANSWERED, “WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN, I HAVE WRITTEN.”
God ensured it was written in all the languages, so the whole world knew that Jesus was no longer king of the Jews.
Jesus’ death as king of the Jews also meant that it is not just a Jewish kingdom; instead, it is a Kingdom over heaven and earth.
God’s plan for Jesus’ Kingdom rule is Heavenly with the Earth as its Footstool.
The Earth is Jesus’ Footstool
ACTS 7:49 HEAVEN IS MY THRONE, AND EARTH IS MY FOOTSTOOL.
The Enemies are on Earth.
PSALMS 110:1 THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, “SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, TILL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES YOUR FOOTSTOOL.”
The Kingdoms of this Earth will Become the Kingdom of God.
REVELATION 11:15 AND THERE WERE LOUD VOICES IN HEAVEN, SAYING, “THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD HAVE BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR LORD AND OF HIS CHRIST, AND HE SHALL REIGN FOREVER AND EVER!”
When Jesus Ascended, Satan was Cast to Earth
Why are the enemies of God now on earth? Because the devil has been cast to earth.
DANIEL 7:9-10 “I WATCHED TILL THRONES WERE PUT IN PLACE, AND THE ANCIENT OF DAYS WAS SEATED; HIS GARMENT WAS WHITE AS SNOW AND THE HAIR OF HIS HEAD WAS LIKE PURE WOOL. HIS THRONE WAS A FIERY FLAME, ITS WHEELS A BURNING FIRE; A FIERY STREAM ISSUED AND CAME FORTH FROM BEFORE HIM. A THOUSAND THOUSANDS MINISTERED TO HIM; TEN THOUSAND TIMES TEN THOUSAND STOOD BEFORE HIM. THE COURT WAS SEATED, AND THE BOOKS WERE OPENED.
So, in this scripture, we see that the courts were seated, and angelic beings opened the books. Satan no longer has the authority to accuse from heaven anymore.
REVELATION 12:5,7-10 SHE BORE A MALE CHILD WHO WAS TO RULE ALL NATIONS WITH A ROD OF IRON. AND HER CHILD WAS CAUGHT UP TO GOD AND HIS THRONE. THEN WAR BROKE OUT IN HEAVEN: MICHAEL AND HIS ANGELS FOUGHT WITH THE DRAGON; AND THE DRAGON AND HIS ANGELS FOUGHT, BUT THEY DID NOT PREVAIL, NOR WAS A PLACE FOUND FOR THEM IN HEAVEN ANY LONGER. SO THE GREAT DRAGON WAS CAST OUT, THAT SERPENT OF OLD, CALLED THE DEVIL AND SATAN, WHO DECEIVES THE WHOLE WORLD; HE WAS CAST TO THE EARTH, AND HIS ANGELS WERE CAST OUT WITH HIM. THEN I HEARD A LOUD VOICE SAYING IN HEAVEN, “NOW SALVATION, AND STRENGTH, AND THE KINGDOM OF OUR GOD, AND THE POWER OF HIS CHRIST HAVE COME, FOR THE ACCUSER OF OUR BRETHREN, WHO ACCUSED THEM BEFORE OUR GOD DAY AND NIGHT, HAS BEEN CAST DOWN.
The Kingdom Returns to the Father
God’s plan is for the Kingdom to return to the Father at the end of the Age we are living in.
1 CORINTHIANS 15:24 THEN COMES THE END, WHEN HE DELIVERS THE KINGDOM TO GOD THE FATHER, WHEN HE PUTS AN END TO ALL RULE AND ALL AUTHORITY AND POWER.
God’s Plan is for Jesus to be Seated and for the Church to be seated with him in heavenly places and rule. Why do we not see it happening, because we don’t believe in it.
