Forgiveness isn’t something you work up the strength to do. It’s something God has already accomplished that He’s inviting you to step into.
The Father didn’t wait for you to deserve forgiveness before He provided it. While you were still a sinner, Christ secured complete forgiveness for you. Now He’s teaching you to live from that same abundant grace toward others.
Here’s what I love about God’s heart: He doesn’t ask you to forgive others because it’s the “right thing to do.” He invites you to forgive because you’ve already been forgiven so completely that you get to share from the overflow.
When someone hurts you, God isn’t waiting for you to muster up enough spiritual maturity to forgive them. He’s already prepared grace for that situation and is showing you how to access what He’s provided.
The beautiful reality: Forgiveness flows from your new nature, not your human effort. You’re not trying to become forgiving – you’re practicing the forgiveness that’s already part of who you are in Christ.
Kingdom Routine for today: When someone comes to mind who has hurt you, ask God, “How do You see this person? What forgiveness have You already prepared that I can step into in partnership with You?”
You forgive others not because you’re strong enough, but because you’ve been forgiven so completely.
