“Through the tender mercy of our God; Whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,”-Luke 1:78 KJV
The early Jews weren’t borrowing from pagan sun cults. They were drawing straight from their own Scriptures.
Malachi already framed the Messiah as the rising sun:
“The Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings.”-Malachi 4:2
When Jesus appears, the New Testament leans fully into light language:
“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”- John 1:4
“The true Light that gives light to everyone…”-John 1:9
“I am the light of the world.” – John 8:12
So when the Greek name Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) and the Greek word ἥλιος (Sun) both hit the value 888, the early church didn’t panic. They smiled because the number simply confirmed the theology.
It wasn’t syncretism. It was structural resonance.
Let’s check the math:
Letter-Greek-Value
Eta-Η-8
Lambda-Λ-30
Iota-Ι-10
Omicron-Ο-70
Sigma-Σ-200
But ancient Greek sometimes used the final sigma (ς) variant, making the calculation: 8 + 30 + 10 + 70 + 200 + 570 = 888 (Once the final sigma forms are counted, the total locks at 888.)
So in early Christian symbolism:
Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) = 888
ἥλιος (Sun) = 888
This wasn’t a coincidence to them. They understood numbers as messages.
The fuller meaning inside Scripture always aims toward Christ.
In Genesis, creation begins with:
“Let there be light.”- Genesis 1:3
But the sun isn’t created until day 4.
This is the hint: There is light before the sun, A PRIMAL LIGHT.
John identifies that Light:
“That life was the light of men.” – John 1:4
Paul confirms:
“God… has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of His glory in the face of Christ.”- 2 Corinthians 4:6
Meaning: Creation’s first light was Christ’s radiance pouring into the void.
The physical sun is the symbol. Christ is the source.
Let’s read the Hebrew word for “sun” through the Hebrew strokes lens:
שֶׁמֶשׁ – Shemesh
Shin (ש) – flame, divine fire
Mem (מ) – water, womb, descent
Shin (ש) – flame again
Fire → water → fire Spirit → incarnation → resurrection Glory → humility → glory
This is the Christ pattern.
The sun dies (sets), descends, then rises. Christ dies, descends, rises.
Hebrew strokes reveals that the very structure of the word “sun” encodes the gospel.
“Jesus” (Yeshua) comes from the root yesha : to widen, rescue, liberate.
Darkness narrows.
Light widens.
Jesus as Light = Jesus as liberation.
Tie it to the NT: “The people living in darkness have seen a great light.” – Matthew 4:16
“Perfect love casts out fear.”-1 John 4:18
Aramaic spirituality sees light not as doctrine but as expansion of consciousness.
Christ opens the inner world.
In Jewish mysticism, the sun corresponds to Tiferet – the heart of the Tree of Life:
Mediates between the upper and lower worlds
Balances mercy (Chesed) and judgment (Gevurah)
Represents beauty, harmony, and the Messianic self
This aligns perfectly with Scripture:
“In Him all things hold together.”-Colossians 1:17
“He is the radiance of God’s glory.”- Hebrews 1:3
Jesus is Tiferet made flesh. He is the balanced center, the human face of divine light.
The early church positioned 888 and 666 as two spiritual systems.
666 = Man Exalting Himself
Six is the number of humanity (created on day six). Triple-six = humanity fully self-exalted, self-run, self-worshipping.
“The mark on the forehead and hand…”-Revelation 13:16
Forehead = belief
Hand = actions
666 = a system where human power replaces divine wisdom.
888 = New Creation
Eight = resurrection, new beginning.
Triple-eight = new creation in fullness.
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”- 2 Corinthians 5:17
666 is ego.
888 is awakening.
666 is domination.
888 is liberation.
666 blinds.
888 illuminates.
Ancient alchemy always treated the sun as:
*Gold
*Consciousness
*Enlightenment
The Philosopher’s Stone stage of spiritual maturity.
If Christ is the “Sun of Righteousness,” then: Christ is the inner gold. The awakened center. The enlightenment of the soul.
Paul mirrors this exactly:
“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”-Colossians 1:27
Not above you.
Not far from you.
In you.
A refiner would melt metal in a crucible and intensify the process by heaping coals of fire on it [Proverbs 25:21,22]. This is a good strategy; be sensitive to the needs of your enemies. God sees gold in every person. Hostility cannot hide our true value. He won us while we were hostile towards him [see also Romans 5:8, 10]. His kindness led us to the radical awakening of our minds. [Romans 2:4].)

The true “Great Work” of the soul is awakening to that.
Jesus says: “The kingdom of God is within you.”-Luke 17:21
Paul says: “We have the mind of Christ.”-1 Corinthians 2:16
Solar consciousness = inner illumination. Not moralism. Not fear. Not religion.
Light = clarity.
Light = truth.
Light = awakened identity.
This is why Jesus says: “Those who follow Me will not walk in darkness.”- John 8:12
Solar-Christ consciousness means you see yourself and others without distortion.
When Christianity became institutional, the symbols turned into idols.
Literalism replaced mysticism.
Fear replaced illumination. External religion replaced inner awakening.
The early believers weren’t worshipping a ball of fire in the sky. They were using universal language to describe a universal Christ.
Christ is not the sun.
Christ is what the sun symbolizes: Light. Warmth. Renewal.
The daily resurrection of consciousness.
If Christ is the sun of your inner world:
1. Your darkness is not permanent Night never wins. The resurrection is already rising in you.
2. You carry illumination You don’t walk blind. You carry insight that cuts through confusion.
3. You’re evolving. You’re not stuck in old patterns of fear or guilt. You are a new creation in motion.
4. Your identity is radiant. You are not defined by mistakes or shame. You’re defined by the Light within you.
5. You’re part of the cosmic sunrise
Christ doesn’t only rise historically.
He rises in people.
Paul literally prays for this:
“Awake, sleeper, and Christ will shine on you.”- Ephesians 5:14
That’s 888 embodied.
