Familiar spirits

Familiar spirits are personalities without bodies and are looking for human bodies to inhabit in order to express themselves in the earth. They are called demons, or unclean spirits but they are not fallen angels.

At one time they had bodies and lived on the earth but God destroyed them with the earth when Lucifer fell from his first estate.

They are spirits without bodies, and I believe their spirit is fixed. There is no repentance for them, they can never change. They are the personification of evil, and when the bible talks about sin in the singular, it is talking about familiar spirits; they have been on the earth a long time and are familiar with our generational line.

We need to realize that we are at war. We have an enemy who wants to kill us. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy.

Fallen angels have spirit bodies, and evil spirits do not. Fallen angels dwell in the heavenly places, and have no desire to dwell on earth. Sometimes they enter a human like Satan did Judas, but they do not like to dwell there. They cannot possess a human, but their words- thoughts-feelings can inhabit the mind and soul, if there is openness.

Evil spirits can inhabit the soul of a human, and can have access to dwell in the body of that person, in the form of cancer and diseases.

Thoughts are spirit, they are living and they originate from somewhere. If we are not the ones doing the thinking, then the thoughts are coming from another source, God, the enemy or our brain (which is like a computer that has been programmed) and things trigger the program to run.

The brain does not have the ability to think, it is like a computer and is programmed from the outside in, or the inside out. Our spirit is the part of us that has the ability to think. When our spirit is born from above it can begin to reprogram the brain from the inside out. When we receive revelation from God it enlightens our spirit and then goes into the brain reprograming it.

The main way our brain has been programmed is from the outside in through what we do with our body. That is why we have to offer our body a living sacrifice and then we can be transformed by the renewing of the mind-Romans. 12:1,2

Most of us have gotten saved later in life, so that our brain has been programmed by nature, nurture and trauma. Our brain develops through a combination of nature- DNA programming. Nurture- environmental programming and trauma- experiential programming and all of us of have those things operating in our lives.

Nature has to do with the things we inherit from our natural parents. Nurture has to do with our environment, our peers, those we look up to, teachers, parents, siblings, role models etc. Trauma has to do with the bad things we experience in a fallen world.

The lord is teaching us about familiar spirits and how to recognize them, How to tell if they are inside of us or outside of us.

When you come out of addictions and sins, it is easier to stay free than to get free. Once you are free the spirit is outside of you, trying to get back in, tempting you to yield to it. And you can just speak to it and it will leave, but you cannot give it a choice, you have to command it, or else it will obsess your mind.

But once the evil spirit gets inside your soul you will continue to struggle until the thing leaves or is cast out. Any person who is continually struggling with a habit or something even anger, there is a spirit involved.

A lot of people believe that the devil cannot read your mind. But we give off a certain aura in the spirit realm.

When our spirit comes alive it is light, but there can be areas in our soul that block that light from shinning, so we are giving off a dark light, which attracts evil spirits.

As our spirit grows and our soul is transformed, we can reach a place where we enter into immunity, the devil cannot touch us, it talks in 1 John about those who are born again and do not sin, and the devil cannot touch them. This is talking about the incorruptible seed of God in our spirit, the D.N.A of God, Jesus in us. Our spirit can grow up into the image of Jesus Christ, where we live exactly like Jesus and even do greater works than Him. This is called the manifestation of the sons of God. Where we are led by the Spirit like Jesus was, where we reach a spiritual maturity.

This has to do with our primary destiny where we are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ in the natural realm. But none of us is walking in that level yet, but it is possible to reach this level.

In the meantime, the Lord will use the enemy as a tool, so that we can overcome him by walking in the opposite spirit. So, we are subject to spiritual attack. On each new level we encounter another devil, and every time we overcome him, we are moving up to a new level.

So don’t think it strange when you encounter different kinds of trials, it just means you hit another level in the Lord, and you are making progress in your walk with God when you overcome them.

When we start out walking with God, if there is darkness in us, or we are fulfilling the lust of the flesh, it attracts demon spirits.

When they are not living in a person they sort of fly around in the atmosphere looking for a place to land.

They are in dry places and are looking for a home.

Familiar spirits want to hide; they want us to think that everything going on inside us is just us. They want us to think that the things that go on in our mind and the things that go on in our emotions are just us.

When a familiar spirit is operating in our mind, it will manifest in a mind set. Our mind will just think a certain way whether we are in agreement with it or not.

A lot of Christians agree with familiar spirits or religious spirits and become a source of division in the church.

They will accuse ministers of being deceived and being anti-Christ not realizing that the anti-Christ spirit is in them using them. Then these spirits will attack their bodies.

When you meet a person with a critical spirit, you will notice that they are always sick, they are always under attack.

The word says the whole world is under control of the evil one or the God of this world, the power of the air- thought waves.

If we keep having negative thoughts, then it is just a familiar spirit in our soul and once we recognize it, then we can get rid of it.

Jeremiah 20: ¹⁰For I have heard the slander of many, fear on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, say all my familiar friends, they that watch for my fall; peradventure he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him

The familiar spirit’s desire is to persuade and deceive us. To remove the truth of who we are in Christ so that we are operating out of a completely different mindset.

Familiar spirits are throne takers, blessing robbers, rest robbers, destiny destroyers- that is their whole purpose. The enemy comes to rob, kill and destroy. And he does it by getting inside the mind, emotions and bodies of people.

They sit within our soul gates to express themselves through our behavioral choices and this is where we need to understand how they work.

They seek to control and influence our choices often out of our brokenness, things that happen to us, they take advantage of trauma and negative things and negative speech and things that have been said or done to us which are not nice things. They don’t play fair they take advantage of every single thing. They are there to rob, kill and destroy.

So when we yield or bow to any spirit, we are in a sense worshiping it,  it becomes an idol, and therefore it becomes our God and it becomes our source and our supplier and we take on its identity.

Just as God wants to be our source and supply so that we become like him so also do any demonic spirits, they seek to work out their personality through us

 The Hebrew word for familiar is the word ob and it actually is a picture, because the Hebrew language is a picture language and it is a picture of a leather bottle.

 It also means a medium or necromancer. It is a picture of a people who lived in the desert who often need water so they go to their water bottle over and over again because it is a dry place and this is where a familiar spirit wants us to go- back to the same pattern of behavior over and over again.

When we’re in a dry place , the broken areas of our lives can be like a wilderness or a dry place and familiar spirits offer us something. A quick fix to our situation to make ourselves feel better, the problem is it actually doesn’t work and actually eventually makes us feel worse.

 Another meaning for the word familiar is in Hebrew is a deep sultry voice or seductive voice and that’s what they do, they try and entice and influence us.

In the occult world it’s something that’s consulted. They consult with a medium or a medium consults with a familiar spirit to get information and these familiar spirits carry information about every single person they been in.
