Hebrews 10:14 For by one sacrifice He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
I want to emphasize two things, death and resurrection-the divine exchange.
First, that the death of Jesus on the cross was a sacrifice, a sacrifice ordained by God in which Jesus as priest offered Himself a sacrifice on behalf of the whole human race to God the Father. Jesus was the last Adam; his soul and body became a sin offering of the whole Adamic race. And he was raised as the second man, the first born of the new creation.
1 Corinthians 15: 22 for even as in Adam ALL die, so also in the Christ ALL will be made alive-LSV.
Ephesians 1: 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight in love-NIV.
Ephesians 2: 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus-NIV.
Before the creation of the world, we were chosen to be crucified together with Christ and raised up together with Him and seated together with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.
When Jesus died in the natural realm, it became an eternal event.
We were literally born of God, we are the same species, animals give birth to animals of the same species, humans give birth to humans and God gives birth to gods, it says that in the bible.
John 10: 33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.” 34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods”’? 35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken-LSV
We are a three part being like God- spirit, soul and body. Our spirit has been born of God and is divine, but our soul is so closely related to our mortal body that it is interpreting to us what our body is sensing and not our spirit.
So, we must practice the presence of the Lord, learn to become aware of Him, because our spirit is God conscious.
Our body is conscious of the natural world and its physical condition, and our soul is either interpreting what our body is sensing or what our spirit is sensing.
When we are full of the Spirit which we are commanded to be continually, then our soul is interpreting oneness with the Spirit of God, and we begin to sense what He is saying(communicating) to us and leading us to do. This is what it means to be led by the Spirit.
Secondly, it was, a perfect sacrifice. Nothing was lacking; nothing will ever have to be added. It is perfectly- perfect, completely- complete. Every need of every descendant of Adam has been totally provided for through that one sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
It is very important to grasp this. And it’s very important that we do not let our attention be distracted from that sacrifice, or we will not fulfill our primary destiny, to be transformed in this life, to appropriate the provision provide by Christ crucified.
We can get involved in so many forms of teaching and doctrine and Christian activity, which may all be good in their own way. But if they’re separated from the sacrifice of the cross, and what it provided, it becomes a dead work, they ultimately lose their power to help us.
Isaiah 48: 22 “There is no shalom (“wholeness, spirit, soul and body” “health, prosperity, peace and favor-friendship”),” says the Lord, “for the guilty.”
Isaiah 53: 4 Certainly, He has taken away our diseases and lifted up (to take off of us) our grief, pain, sorrow;
We considered Him punished, Scourged (The Roman Flagrum) by God, and intimidated with abusive words.
5 He was wounded physically unto death for our willful deviation, rebellion against the path of God-like living,
Beat to pieces because of our perversity.
The correction for our shalom (wholeness “health, prosperity, peace and favor-friendship”) was upon Him, by His black-and-blue marks-causing bleeding we are restored to health.
6everyone including ourselves like a flock of sheep wandered off; We have turned in a direction, as an individual, he or she’ own path or course of life.
YHVH attached to Him the perversity of ourselves and everyone else- Lee Jensen.
Matthew 27: 45 Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
The Father never forsook Jesus when He was on the cross, he was in the dark cloud that covered the land for three hours.
YHVH allowed the sin of the world to be attached to Jesus’s soul, and as He experienced our death, He cried out- “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” It is called the divine exchange.
He experienced what we should have, so that we can experience what He did.
Matthew 3: 16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Because of the cross there was a divine exchange. If God was not well pleased with you, He would not have immersed you, filled you with His Holy Spirit.
Go ahead and say it, “I please the Lord!”.
“I please the Lord!”, “I please the Lord!”.
But now that you are filled with the
Spirit, there is a wilderness of testing you must go through, you must pass the test, don’t worry if you fail, you get to take it over again.
Jesus went into the wilderness filled with the Spirit, passed the three tests, and then came out of the wilderness in the power of the
Spirit and began His ministry (Luke 4:1-19), and you must do the same. And then you can hear this voice.
Mark 9: 7 And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”
What is the problem of the human race? What have we done, all of us?
We have not all committed adultery or got drunk or stolen or murdered someone physically, maybe in our heart? But there’s one thing each one of us has done.
We’ve turned to our own way, we have lived independently of God making our own personal decision of what we thought was right for us, and tried to not choose that which was wrong.
which is not God’s way and God describes that as iniquity. We have walked on the pathway “of tree of the knowledge of good and evil” deciding for ourselves what we thought was good or evil for us, instead of walking on the way of the tree of life which is the path of intimacy with YHVH and leads to the pathway of responsibility in the government of God.
The root problem of humanity is living independent of God in a way that seems right but ends in death and it’s universal. All of us.
There’s not one exception. Jew or Gentile, Catholic or Protestant, Lutheran or methodist, non-denomination or one of the thousands of Christian denominations, with estimates ranging from over 30,000 to nearly 45,000 globally. Or may be we were a seven-day Adventist, a Mormon, a new ager, it does’nt matter what religion we ar. There is also no Asian, American, African, all the races. It makes no difference. We are all in the same category. We have gone our own way.
But the marvelous message is that God has laid on Jesus the perversion of us all.
Everything wrong with the human race came upon Jesus as He hung upon the cross.
And so, the sacrifice of the cross is an exchange. Now here is a key to unlock the treasures of God’s provision. At the cross an exchange took place, divinely ordained and predicted by God. All the consequences of walking independently of YHVH came upon Jesus.
All the evil of the human race came upon Jesus that all the goodness, the glory of YHVH might be made available to us.
On the cross, Jesus was the last Adam. On Him came the whole evil inheritance of the whole Adamic race. He wasn’t the last in the sense of time. There have been millions and millions of descendants of Adam born since, but he was the last in the sense that the total evil inheritance of our sin-cursed race came upon him.
And when he was buried, it was buried. It was put away. It was finished. It was put out of His sight. YHVH has literally forgotten about it, if you mention it him it is “like what are you talking about?”
Confessing your sin is not saying Lord I am sorry about doing this or that. It is saying the same thing that YHVH says about it. It was laid upon Jesus, and you were crucified with him and now it has been buried and forgotten, so repent- glue yourself to Yeshua so His thoughts can flow into your mind and then into your brain and reprogram it.
And then when he rose from the dead, he arose as the second man, a new kind of man. The new creation of those who become born into the family of God.
