There can be things in our soul that block the flow of God in our lives. If there are things that we struggle with, then those things will dam up the in-flowing of the life and Spirit of God in us. There can be things in our heart that hinder Jesus being glorified in us.
Out of our spirit shall flow rivers of living water, the life of God, but first we must blow up the dams.
What we need to do is to lay a few sticks of dynamite at the base of the dam and blow it up!
Acts 1: 8 But ye shall receive power (dúnamis, dynamite), after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses
We have to blow up the dams that keep us earthbound. Those things that keep us tied to this world.
And we can only do this through the power of the Holy Spirit.
God has a great reservoir of blessing ready to pour out upon us. All we have to do is get rid of those dams, get rid of those limitations, the things that are holding us back.
We all have them. They are the things that hold us captive, they may be fears, doubts, limitations in our thinking, and sometimes things that comes up from our subconscious.
Mark 9: 43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off
45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off.
47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out.
This refers to the gates or the doors of our body, the things that we touch, and the places that we go, the things that we look at. The body has five primary gateways: 1- Touch 2- Taste 3 -Smell 4- Sight 5- Hearing.
We may be perfectly sound to live on the human plane, but concerning God’s kingdom, we may have within us an offense, a limitation, a restriction, or a dam so great that all the wondrous blessings of God can never come through to our life.
If we want the blessing of the Lord that is flowing to this generation to come to us, then we must dynamite those dams! Whatever it is that is blocking the fullness of God in our lives.
We are transformed from the inside out; the Lord quickens our spirit. And as we open our spirit to God through worship, the life and power of God flow into our soul and transform it.
Then if we have yielded to unrighteousness, the lust of the flesh we must through the power of the Holy Spirit mortify our members (the parts of the body) that we have yielded.
We do this through the power(ability) of the Spirit. When our spirit and soul are filled with the conscious awareness of the Presence of God, then we are strong in the Lord and the power of His might. This is the blowing up of the dams, which hinders the outpouring of the Spirit in our life.
