The wilderness and the desert will be glad, and the Arabah (desert) will rejoice and blossom; like the crocus it will blossom profusely and rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the Lord, the majesty of our God. Encourage the exhausted, and strengthen the feeble. Say to those with palpitating heart, “Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance; the recompense of God will come, but He will save you.” Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. Then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb will shout for joy. For waters will break forth in the wilderness and streams in the Arabah (desert). And the scorched land (translated “the glowing sand” in the old American Standard version, but better translated “the mirage,” which results when a layer of hot air reflects something in the distance) the mirage will become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water. Isaiah 35:1–7.
In these times, as never before, God is setting a vision before us. Other generations have had that vision. They’ve had dreams, too. Hebrews 11:13 talks about them: “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar.” It was like a mirage to them. They participated in it in a sense, without experiencing its reality. But here we are in a day when the Lord is going to make it all real to us. The mirage will become a pool of water, cool and refreshing, in the midst of the desert. It will not remain what may have seemed a vain and empty promise.
I saw times of release, but the restoration had not moved to the place where there was enough. I said over and over again, “There’s so much of God, but there isn’t enough.”
“Oh God, if there is going to be a restoration, release more of Yourself into the situation to meet the needs of the people. They want to be rid of the flesh They want to break into the fullness. They want to have the promises. More, Lord, more! Not less—more.”
I’m speaking to you realistically—not the way unbelief looks at things. “There’s more of God in this walk with Him than I’ve seen in my life.” And with each passing month there is more and more of God in this walk. It’s as though God prepared it like a mirage. A hope was built in our hearts and we walked along with faith, not experiencing the reality of His promises. Then suddenly we glimpsed the reality and things began to happen as they are happening now.
I’m not worried about the mountains that are yet to be brought down and cast into the sea, because I can look back and see a whole range of mountains that aren’t there any more. These forces that have resisted are going to come down!
The lives of people are going to change. Circumstances are going to change. This day of the restoration is seeing more and more of God turned loose. I rebuke the unbelief, whether it comes to my heart or yours, because this walk that God has brought is manifesting more reality than anything we have yet seen.
But more than that, the unlimited fullness of the Lord is unfolding before our eyes. He is making the mirage into a pool. He’s making the rivers in the desert. God is bringing so much of Himself into every situation.
Don’t say there’s not enough of God. Don’t get discouraged at what seems to be a limitation. The veil is being lifted. The floodgates of the dam are being opened. We’re in the process of the greatest visitation of God. It hasn’t come instantaneously, but it’s building up to something tremendous. Something is happening. And if we had the perception to see the fullness of the spirit world, we would realize that it’s already in motion in a way that would startle us.
“God is moving by His Spirit,
Moving over all the earth;
Signs and wonders when God moveth,
Move, Oh Lord, in me.”
