WHY MOST CHRISTIANS DON’T SEE THEMSELVES AS ROYALTY
Are you praying like a homeless person when God made you an heir?
Are you asking like a household servant when you have the rights of a “child of the king”?
An Apostle I studied under here in San Antonio, told me a true story he experienced like this, I can’t remember the details, but it was an important government official he had a meeting with, I believe in England, that was where he was from.
But let me tell you a parable, (There once was a King who had a very important business meeting concerning his kingdom and said to an administrator of His kingdom, I will give you ten minutes, but then all of a sudden his little boy ran into his office, “his toy broke”.
He said, “Sir, hold on a second”, this is my son, and he fixed his toy.
Then he said to his administrator, sorry about that, now you only got five minutes, so you had better make it quick).
You see that little boy was the King’s son, he had the king’s undivided attention.
The point of the story is that you are legally a child of the King! LET THAT SINK IN. You need to see yourself that way, because that is how your heavenly Father sees you.
Are you living in spiritual poverty when you were born into the wealthiest family in the universe.
And the reason you’re stuck in this defeated mentality is not because you lack salvation.
It’s not because you haven’t been born again.
It’s because you don’t see yourself the way God sees you.
You don’t understand your legal position as a son of God.
It is also true that you must be walking out the vital aspect of redemption, reaching for mature sonship.
The king is not going to give that little boy the authority to use a gun, he must grow up and become trustworthy not to abuse that kind of Power, but we must grasp the truth of “what is legal ours”, first.
The Father see’s us perfect in Christ, but he deals a little differently with us here on earth so that we will grow up unto the full stature of Christ and be perfected in love, to be given the ministry of Judgment. This is a subject that I will teach on sometime in detail, I have some messages already on my website, but very, very few people have this revelation.
After Jesus was given all authority in heaven and earth and then ascended into heaven and received his coronation of becoming the king of kings, he sat down at the right hand of his Father, waiting, earnestly expecting all his enemies to be put under his feet, he must remain in heaven until this happens.
Acts 3:20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until “the times of restoration of all things”.
If every word that came out of our month came to pass, it would create havoc upon the earth, some of us would be sending people to hell, just imagine that every negative word you ever spoke came to pass?
It talks about Samuel in the Old Covenant walking in this kind of power-
1 Samuel 3: 19Samuel grew up. The Lord was with him and didn’t let any of his words go unfulfilled-GW.
There are many other examples like Elijah.
That is why I have been teaching on the importance of only speaking what the Father says about us in Christ.
James 3: 2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
So, once we can control every word we speak, and begin to say only what the Father says about us in Christ. Then we can take captive every thought to the obedience of Christ, and our mind will be transformed, and the rest of the areas of our soul can be restored, until we become a whole person.
I am sure that you already understand the word-perfect means mature or complete.
So, I want to give you an example of what I mean by perfection. Let us take for example the most beautiful flower you have ever seen.
The seed of that flower is perfect, as it begins to grow that stem is perfect, as it produces a bud, that bud is perfect, and when that flower blooms it is actual perfection. Do you get the Idea now what I am talking about?
Until you grasp this truth of literally being born from above, through the DNA of YHVH being conceived in your spirit. You see our spirit is like a womb, and seeds can be planted in it. Seeds in the realm of the spirit are like living words, the closest thing to the sons of Satan, were the Nephilim, yet there was a mixture of the DNA of Fallen Angels, and human ladies. When Jesus was born there was no mixture of her DNA in the blood of Jesus, His blood was pure, like the first Adam before He fell, this is why Jesus he would have only aged to about 30 years old, if he did not lay down his physical life, and his soul, not his body became a sin offering. The entire sin of the human race he took into his soul, so that is why he cried out My God, why have you forsaken me, he was so identified with the human race that he experienced being separated from YHVH in his mind and emotions. So Nephilim are still a mystery to me. The word I think is translated giants in English is Rephaim.
So, it is a mystery to me, so I think when we are born again we are a divine human, and our blood still needs to be purified, which would cause us to never age or our bodies being immortal. But my point is that our spirit has the DNA of God in it, so we are his spiritual offspring or royalty.
Being a heir is not something you earn, but something you received the moment you were born again, unless you see this you’ll continue living far below your privileges.
You’ll keep begging for things that already belong to you.
You’ll remain timid and defeated when God called you to walk in boldness and authority.
And you’ll miss out on the inheritance that’s yours through Christ.
This is not about arrogance or presumption.
This is about understanding your identity. Because the way you see yourself determines how you pray, how you believe, and how you live.
If you see yourself as a lowly sinner barely getting by, you’ll pray weak prayers and accept defeat as normal.
But if you see yourself as a son of God, joint heir with Christ, filled with His Spirit and possessing His authority, everything changes.
Your prayers become bold. Your faith becomes confident. And you start living like the child of the king that you are.
Today we’re going to uncover why most Christians never see themselves as sons of God.
We’re going to expose the lies that keep believers living with a servant mentality instead of a son mentality.
We’re going to show you what scripture actually teaches about your position in Christ and we’re going to give you the revelation that will transform how you relate to your Father and how you walk in His kingdom.
This is identity-changing truth, and once you see it, you’ll never pray, believe, or live the same way again.
Let’s start with the foundation. This is God speaking from the eternal realm.
Galatians 4:6-7 says, and because ye are sons (full grown), God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, ‘Abba (this word is framed by the lips of infants, the indication of unreasoning trust, Father (relational term of honor, through acknowledging progenitor).’ Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son and if a son ( the age of adoption where you inherit your share of the family business), then an heir of God through Christ.
Notice what Paul is saying. You are not a servant(person who serves the owner). You are a son, and because you’re a son, you’re also an heir.
Everything changes when you understand this.
A servant works for the master, hoping to earn favor.
A son receives from the father because of relationship.
A servant lives in fear of being rejected.
A son lives in confidence of being loved.
A servant earns.
A son inherits.
And God is telling you right here that you are no longer a servant, but a son.
But here’s the problem.
Most Christians have never been taught this.
They’ve been taught that they’re sinners saved by grace, which is true, but that’s not your identity.
That’s your history.
Your identity is that you’re a new creation in Christ, a Son of God, filled with His Spirit and possessing everything that belongs to Jesus.
But because believers don’t know this, they live like spiritual orphans, always trying to earn what they already have, always begging for what’s already been given, always living in insecurity when they have full sonship rights.
The tragedy of modern Christianity is that believers know they’re saved but don’t know who they are.
They know Jesus died for them but don’t understand what they became when they were born again.
They’re sons of God living like slaves.
They’re heirs living in poverty.
They’re royalty acting like beggars.
And it’s not because God hasn’t made them sons. It’s because they’ve never been taught what sonship means, and so they live their entire Christian life without ever claiming the privileges that belong to them.
That’s the reality for most Christians.
They’re sons who don’t know their sons, and so they live defeated lives while possessing unlimited resources.
So why don’t Christians see themselves as sons?
The first reason is they’ve been taught to focus on their unworthiness instead of Christ’s worthiness.
They’ve been told constantly that they’re sinners, that they’re undeserving, that they’re nothing without God.
And while it’s true that we were sinners and that salvation is by grace, that’s not the end of the story.
When you were born again, you became a New Creation.
2 Corinthians 5: 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
You’re not the same person you were before salvation.
You’ve been recreated.
You’ve been made new, and that new creation is a son of God.
But when churches focus constantly on unworthiness, when every sermon reminds you of your sin and your failures, when the entire message is about how lowly and undeserving you are, you never develop a son mentality.
You develop a slave mentality, an orphan spirit. You see yourself as someone God tolerates instead of someone he loves as his own child.
And that mindset keeps you from accessing the privileges of sonship.
The truth is that your worthiness is not based on your performance. It’s based on Christ’s performance.
You’re not worthy because you’re good. You’re worthy because He’s good and you’re in Him.
Romans 8:1 says, thereis therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.
No condemnation, not because you earned it, but because you’re in Christ.
And when you’re in Christ, you’re as righteous as he is. You’re as accepted as he is. You’re as loved by the Father as he is.
Because the Father doesn’t see you separate from Jesus. He sees you in Jesus. And that makes you a son.
Second, Christians don’t see themselves as sons because they’ve been taught to relate to God out of fear instead of relationship.
They pray timidly, hoping God might answer. They approach him carefully, worried he might be angry.
They live in constant uncertainty about whether they’re pleasing him. And that’s not how a son relates to a father. That’s how a slave relates to a master.
But look at what Romans 8:15 says, For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
You didn’t receive a spirit of bondage and fear. You received the spirit of adoption, and that spirit enables you to cry, Abba, Father.
Abba is an intimate term. It’s like saying, Daddy. It’s a term of closeness, of confidence, of love.
And God wants you to relate to Him that way, not as a distant judge, not as a harsh master, but as your loving Father who delights in you and wants to bless you.
The believer who understands sonship doesn’t pray with fear. They pray with confidence.
They don’t approach God wondering if he’ll help them. They approach him knowing he’s their father and that he’s already committed to meet their needs.
They don’t beg, they ask.
They don’t plead, they receive. Because they know who they are and they know whose they are.
And that knowledge transforms everything about their relationship with God. THAT’S THE DIFFERENCE.
A son knows the father’s heart and approaches him boldly.
Third, Christians don’t see themselves as sons because they’ve confused their position with their performance.
They think sonship is something they maintain by good behavior instead of something they received at salvation.
So, when they sin, when they fail, when they fall short, they think they’ve lost their position.
They think God is disappointed and distant and they spend all their time trying to earn back what they never lost.
But sonship is not based on your behavior. It’s based on your birth.
When you were born again, you became a son of God, and nothing you do can change that.
1 John 3: 1 says, behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the children (by new birth) of God. You are called a child, not because you’re perfect, but because God loves you, and you are his child by birth, the same kind of species.
And that love doesn’t fluctuate based on your performance. He’s your father. You’re his child. And that relationship is permanent.
Now, this doesn’t mean sin doesn’t matter. It does. Sin breaks fellowship. It grieves the Holy Spirit. It opens the door to the enemy. But it doesn’t change your position as a son.
When you sin, you don’t stop being God’s child. You’re just a child who’s out of fellowship with your father.
And the solution is not to try to earn your way back. The solution is to confess,( which means say the same thing God does about it, This thing has go to go! Thank you, Father that my old man has been crucified with Christ, that this body that sin is ruling in has been rendered powerless, that I don’t have to be a slave to sin any longer, I thank you that my new born spirit does not desire this anymore. Lord I acknowledge my forgiveness ( which means deliverance from the power and force of sin), according to 1 John 1: 9, and start walking in the spirit, so that you experience the empowering presence of the Lord, that lifts you back up in fellowship (partaker of the same divine life) so that you will be lifted back up higher, that the desire of the flesh no longer has the same kind of pleasure, but you are much happer living this new kind of life in partaking of the divine nature.
The modern church has produced a generation of believers who are constantly trying to become what they already are.
They’re trying to earn sonship when they were born to naturally grow up into mature sonship, as long as they continually guard their heart lest they yield for a moment and become a slave to sin. It is much easier to stay free than to get free. But always remember if you yield just once, you become a slave again. And you have to start all over, but it gets so much easier the longer you maintain your freedom, that you will not even consider the thought because you know by experience it is foolishness,
The problem with the carnal mind is that it thinks it must deserve God’s love when He already loves them unconditionally.
They’re trying to maintain a position, that cannot be legally lost, only rewards can be lost, His righteousness is a gift received in your newborn spirit, your brain just must be reprogrammed from your past lifestyle that programed it.
You just have to learn how to walk in it, but that is why God has given the five-fold gift ministries who are people to help you learn how to walk in righteousness, you just must find one, or study under me, because I am one.
And all this striving keeps Christians from ever resting in the finished work of Christ and simply enjoying the relationship God gave them.
That’s the trap, trying to earn what you already have instead of receiving it by faith.
Fourth, Christians don’t see themselves as sons because they don’t understand what sonship includes.
They think being a son of God just means they’re going to heaven when they die.
But sonship is so much more than that.
Sonship means you have access to the Father. You can come boldly to the throne of grace, according to Hebrews 4: 16.
Sonship means you have the Spirit of God living in you.
Romans 8: 9 says, But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
Sonship means you’re an heir.
Romans 8: 17 says, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.
Everything that belongs to Jesus belongs to you because you’re a joint heir.
Sonship means you have authority.
Luke 10:19 says Jesus gave you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.
Sonship means you have provision.
Philippians 4:19 says, but my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Sonship means you have protection.
Psalm 91:11 says, for he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Sonship is not just a title, it’s a position of privilege, authority, and blessing.
And when you don’t understand what’s included in sonship, you live far below what God provided.
Now let’s look at the difference between a servant mentality and a son mentality.
A servant says, I must serve God to earn his favor.
A son says, I serve God because I’m already favored and I love him.
A servant prays, God, if it be your will, maybe you could help me.
A son prays, Father, your word says, this is your will, and I receive it now.
A servant lives in fear of punishment.
A son lives in confidence of love.
A servant works for a reward.
A son receives an inheritance.
A servant begs.
A son asks.
A servant hopes.
A son knows.
The difference is dramatic, and it shows up in every area of your Christian life.
When you have a servant mentality, you approach prayer timidly.
You ask God for things, but you don’t really expect Him to answer.
You phrase your requests with, if it be your will, even when God has already revealed His will and His Word.
You live in constant doubt about whether God wants to help you.
But when you have a son mentality, prayer changes.
You approach God boldly.
You know He’s your Father, and He wants to bless you.
You pray according to His Word with confidence.
You thank Him for answers before you see them because you trust His promises.
You’re not begging, you’re receiving.
When you have a servant mentality, you live in spiritual poverty.
You accept lack as God’s will.
You tolerate sickness as something you must endure.
You resign yourself to defeat as the normal Christian life.
But when you have a son mentality, you know that your father is rich and that everything he has belongs to you.
You know healing is part of your inheritance, according to 1 Peter 2:24.
You know provision is promised in Philippians 4:19.
You know victory is yours through Christ, according to 1 Corinthians 15:57, and you claim those promises like a son who knows what belongs to them.
The difference between defeated Christianity and victorious Christianity is not in how much you pray or how hard you try.
It’s in how you see yourself.
The defeated Christian sees themselves as a sinner trying to please God.
The victorious Christian sees themselves as a son enjoying relationship with their father.
One is striving, the other is resting.
One is begging, the other is receiving.
One is hoping God might help. The other is knowing God already has.
And that shift in identity changes everything.
That’s the power of seeing yourself as a son.
So how do you move from a servant mentality to a son mentality?
First, you renew your mind with God’s word. You find every scripture that talks about who you are in Christ, and you meditate on them until they become real to you.
Romans 12:2 says, be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Transformation happens when your thinking changes.
So, you start thinking like a son instead of like a servant.
You say, I am a son of God, according to 1 John 3:1. I’m not a slave. I’m not a servant. I’m a child of the king.
You say, I’m an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ, according to Romans 8:17.
Everything that belongs to Jesus belongs to me.
You say I have access to the Father through Jesus according to Ephesians 2:18.
I can come boldly to His throne. He welcomes me. He loves me. He delights in me.
You speak these truths over yourself until your mind is renewed, and you start seeing yourself the way God sees you.
Second, you stop trying to earn what you already have. You recognize that sonship is a gift, not a reward.
Ephesians 2, 8-9 says, for by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
You didn’t earn salvation, you received it.
And you didn’t earn sonship; you received it the moment you were born again.
So, you stop striving and you start resting in what Christ already accomplished for you.
Third, you start acting like a son. You pray like a son. You approach God like a son. You claim your inheritance like a son. You walk in authority like a son.
You stop living in fear and you start living in confidence.
You stop begging and you start receiving.
You stop doubting and you start believing. Because that’s what sons do.
They know who their father is. They know who they are, and they live accordingly.
The moment you truly see yourself as a son of God, everything in your Christian life changes.
Your prayers become powerful because you’re praying from a position of authority.
Your faith becomes strong because you know what belongs to you.
Your walk becomes confident because you’re no longer trying to earn God’s love, you’re simply enjoying it.
And the Christian life stops being a struggle and becomes the abundant life Jesus promised not because God changed, but because you finally saw yourself the way he’s always seen you. THAT’S THE REVELATION.
You are a son, and it’s time you started living like one.
So, here’s the question. Are you living with a servant mentality or a son mentality?
Are you praying like a beggar or like an heir?
Are you approaching God in fear or in confidence?
Are you trying to earn what you already have or receiving it by faith?
Because you are a son of God, that’s not something you’re trying to become. That’s what you already are.
And once you see it, once you believe it, once you start living in the light of it, everything changes.
Stop accepting defeat.
Stop living in spiritual poverty.
Stop begging for things that already belong to you.
You’re a son of the Most High God.
You’re an heir of all His promises.
You have access, authority, and provision. Walk in it. Claim it. Live like the child of the King that you are and watch as your entire Christian experience transforms from striving to resting, from begging to receiving, from defeat to victory.
But there’s one more lie that keeps believers from walking in the fullness of what God provided. It’s a lie about faith itself.
Most Christians think faith is hard.
They think it’s something they have to work up, something they have to strain for, something that requires great effort.
And that lie keeps them from ever truly resting in God’s promises. I am going to expose that lie to you. I’m going to show you what faith actually is according to scripture. It is a gift from God, and it is not your faith, it is His faith, and it is going to start being imparted to you, as your mind become renewed and you realize that you have been born into the most royal family there is.
And I’m going to reveal why walking in faith is not about effort, but about simply believing what God already said.
Because when you understand what faith really is, when you see how simple God made it, you’ll stop struggling and start receiving everything he promised. You will begin to start experiencing the abundant life Jesus came to earth to give you.
And that’s when the Christian life becomes what Jesus intended, abundant, victorious, and full of His power.
