There is nothing greater than having a meeting with the Lord, this is what we should be living for.
We need to have a meeting with God, every day. Every time we worship, read the word, every time we pray, we should have a meeting with the Lord. There needs to be a hunger in us, so that our spirit is always reaching out to meet Him. We need to open our heart to let Him meet us.
We don’t need to be seeking a vision or something big, just an awareness of the Lord, so that we can sense His leading, and be able to hear intuitively His voice.
We need to be able at any given moment to be able to tune into Him. Every day we want to get caught up into His presence to receive the refreshing that comes from being in His presence. We need to be continually expecting a visitation from the Lord.
We need to be able to sense that we are in His presence. It is as we learn how to practice His presence, that the world or the flesh will not be able to pull us. Without His presence in our life, we will feel an emptiness.
The person who keeps asking God to do certain things for them, has not had many divine encounters with God. That person does not yet know the Lord, has not yet experienced His manifest presence. When the Spirit of God comes upon us there is a fullness of joy, we are totally satisfied, and we have no other desires in that moment in time. When we are in His presence we can feel His love for us which breaks us, it causes us to weep with tears of joy. In a meeting with the Lord His love is imparted to us and all we want to do is give Him everything.
There is nothing greater in this world than to have a meeting with the Lord. One meeting with Him will cause us to abandon all, to become willing to do anything to stay in His presence. We will not let anything remain in our heart that will hinder that visitation.
This is something we have to work at. We have to learn how to worship Him; this is the fastest way for Him to show up. We have to learn how to sing a new song every day until we have a meeting of the Lord in it. We have to really start learning how to love people, because we will meet the Lord in it. We have to boldly learn how to activate the gifts of the Spirit, so that we can minister healing. As God touches people through us, we will experience Him in it.
When we have a meeting with the Lord, there is no mistaking it; He becomes more real to us, than our awareness of anything else. No matter what we are doing, we are experiencing God in it.
We need to come to the place where we are always looking for Him. The people who have been in love on the human level know all about this. You cannot wait to see the one you love. The moment the phone rings we run to answer it; you are always listening for that phone to ring. You are always looking at that picture of the one you love. That’s the way we live, we are always thinking about that person, looking forward to the next time we meet. It becomes a heavenly obsession when you’re in love with someone who really loves you. This is how it is suppose to be with the Lord. This is part of what it means to know the Lord. Our hearts cry out to have a meeting with the Lord, we want to hear His voice, and it is not a burden to do that which pleases the one we love.
When we are expecting a meeting with the one we love, we get dressed up; we are on our best behavior. These are the people that are looking for Him; this is the bride of Christ, that prepares herself so that she is ready to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.
Heb 9: 28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
When we love the Lord, the cry of our heart is draw me Lord, and I will run after you.
Song of Solomon 1: 4Draw (to draw out sensitivity, to pull out of a location) me, we will run (sense of urgency, excitement) after (to pursue something) thee
It is the cry of the bride who finds that in a moment of slumber He is gone, and she can’t find him—she runs to and fro and the watchmen of the city abuse her, but cannot stop her, she will not stop until she meets him, she is lovesick. (Song of Solomon 5:5–8).
If our spirit is alive unto God, there is a hunger in it for God, there is a driving force in it, and if we are not aware of it, we need to stir it up. This should be our strongest desire, to have a meeting with the Lord. If it is not there our spirit is asleep, or other things have entered our heart and have distracted our focus on Him. The Lord’s presence is not far off; this is the time of His Presence.
The Lord is always ready to have a meeting with us, He is looking and waiting for us to turn toward Him.
Having a meeting with the Lord needs to be one of our main spiritual objectives, or we will live our life only having a meeting with the Lord when we go to a Spirit filled church.
The day that we seek the Lord with all our heart, the day we purpose to have a meeting with the Lord and do what is necessary to attain it, is the day that we will begin to start breaking through the veil that hinders our awareness of Him.
We need to learn how of feel, how to put not only our spirit but our soul into the things we do. One of the best ways to get free is to dance before the Lord. We may start out on a soul level, but can break through into the spirit. The soul level is just self dancing unto the Lord, but when we break into the spirit realm, the Holy Spirit dances through us. If the Spirit comes upon us, we can be caught up into the Spirit where we are not even consciously aware of what we are doing. In the Spirit you can twirl and dance in and out and around other people without running into them, because you’re in the Spirit. When we fall down in the Spirit we don’t get hurt, but if we are in the soul-level if someone doesn’t catch us we will feel it. But unless we act even on the soul level we will not have a meeting with the Lord. We need to break out of the deep freeze, our emotions can get all froze up where we don’t feel anything or we are under an oppression.
David really loved the Lord with all of his heart. He was called a man after God’s own heart. And we will find in the Word David expressing himself intensely in his emotions. When he mourned, he put on sackcloth and ashes and cried out until there was no strength left in his voice. Human nature tends to be afraid to express or experience things. People are afraid to experience God. There is something in their spirit or soul that recoils and draws back from it. It is the old nature that will find a hundred other things to do, instead of seeking to have a meeting with the Lord. If we have a real desire to know the Lord, and are willing to act on this message we will spend some time seeking the Lord diligently, and we will begin to find a love towards the Lord becoming alive inside us moving us and motivating us to live for only one thing, to have a meeting with the Lord.
