The resurrection of the Lord Jesus is the proof of Satan’s defeat, of our redemption, and of God’s legal right to make the believer a new creation.
Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have(present tense-vital) redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins (plural), according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself.
Redemption (apol ytrōsis) The recalling of captives (sinners) from captivity (sin) through the payment of a ransom for them.
Forgiveness (aphesis) freedom; (figurative) pardon: – deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission.
Wisdom (sophía) Skill in the affairs of life, practical wisdom, wise management as shown in forming the best plans and selecting the best means, including the idea of sound judgment and good sense.
In a higher sense, wisdom, deep knowledge, natural and moral insight, learning, science, implying cultivation of mind and enlightened understanding.
In respect to divine things, wisdom, knowledge, insight, deep understanding, represented everywhere as a divine gift, and including the idea of practical application.
The wisdom of God means the divine wisdom, including the ideas of infinite skill, insight, knowledge, purity.
Prudence (phronesis) The ability to govern one’s own life wisely; a skill and carefulness in dealing with one’s own resources.
In him we have our redemption. It is not something we have to pray or ask for. In the moment we are born again, redemption is ours.
Satan’s dominion over us ends. Our life of servitude and fear has come to an end. That redemption is according to the riches of His grace. We are free.
We have seen the wealth and riches of the Father’s grace in His substitutionary work in Christ.
Ephesians 2:6 and raised (past tense-legal redemption) us up together and made(past tense-legal redemption) us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
We were crucified together with Him, died together with Him, were buried together with Him, were justified with Him, and were raised together with Him. That resurrection of Jesus is proof of our victory over the adversary.
It is a proof that cannot be denied. In the mind of God, every person who receives Jesus as Lord and savior is a victor over the adversary. We have the victory the moment we are born again, we just must learn how to walk in it.
So, few of the Father’s children have seen this mighty truth that our victory was in the victory of Christ. When Jesus conquered death, Satan, and sin, it was our victory.
Colossians 3:1 If then you were raised (past tense-legal redemption) with Christ, seek (present tense, commandment) those things which are above, where Christ is (present tense), sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind (present tense-vital redemption, to have a mindset) on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died (past tense-legal redemption), and your life is hidden (past tense-legal redemption) with Christ in God.
Hidden (krúptō) to conceal (properly by covering.
We have to find out who we are in Christ, right now in heaven, our true identity.
When this is revealed to us, we are motivated to appropriate is so that it becomes a vital reality here on earth.
Unless we learn to set our mind on the things above where we are seated together with Christ right now, we will not be continually filled with the Spirit empowering us to keep our soul and body under the Christ in us.
“In Christ” is who we are in Heaven (legal redemption). Christ in us, is the vital aspect of our redemption, when we allow Christ to live through us here on earth.
We were raised together with Christ. In the mind of the Father, it was our translation out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of the Son of His love.
Being translated into the Kingdom is our legal redemption (Colossians 3:1). So that vitally we can break Satan’s dominion over our body, and soul in Christ.
Christ in us, is our spirit and Christ’s spirit becoming one spirit, not two spirits. I did a teaching on this before, our spirit is the spirit of Christ in us.
2 Corinthians 5: 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation.
1 Corinthians 6:17But he who is joined (present tense-vital redemption) to the Lord is one spirit. One (heis) one numerically. One and the self-same spirit.
One (hen) one in essence although two different personalities-John 10:30 where Jesus said I and my Father are one.
The greatest message of our perfect victory over the adversary is found in these verses of scripture:
Ephesians 1: 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward (motion into)- us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
The same ability that worked in the dead body of Jesus to resurrect it and fill it with immortality is today in the believer. We are today more than conquerors because of the life of God that was imparted to us in our new creation.
It is the ability of God unveiled in that resurrection that so shook the foundations of hell, so that today, when the believers know that they were raised together with Christ, they know they are victors in every area and over every circumstance, and they may go on from triumph to triumph.
God has lifted the believer above all rule, authority, power, and dominion, not only in this age, but in that which is to come.
He put all things in subjection under the believer’s feet. He gave Christ, who is the head of the body, to be master over all the forces of the universe.
Jesus gave to the believer a legal right to the use of His name. He actually gave us the power of attorney so that in the name of Jesus, every demon and every power should obey that name through the mouth of the believer.
There isn’t anything too hard for God.
God’s ability is the ability that He gives to us, so His resurrection is the proof of our right to reign over Satan and demons. He was raised because He had conquered Satan in our stead, so that we should no longer live in fear of the unseen forces of darkness.
