I’m reading from Amos chapter 9 and verse 11. In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that has fallen and close up the breaches thereof.
Then I’m reading from verse 13. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, the trader of grapes him that soweth seed. And the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. And I will bring back the captivity of my people Israel.
The prophet Amos, of course, is speaking basically, a principally on a natural level of Israel. In that day I am sure they experienced that agricultural miracle. And I suppose in this day, they could be witnessing much of that in the agricultural miracle of what’s taken place in Palestine if it was not for the current war or cease fire, not following the news.
But for the spiritual Israel, we’re concerned about something that is suggested here, which I think is far more important than the fact that they’re having quite a few crops a year in Palestine.
The Word of God was given to teach us many things that the Lord is doing on the plane of the Spirit.
And I see that the plowman is to overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed, and the mountain shall drop down sweet wine.
This shows that the processes are speeded up so that the sowing and the reaping are almost simultaneously.
One man’s sowing seed, but the trader of grapes that brings out the wine is right there. Did you notice that it’s all put together?
The trader of grapes, this is the plowman shall overtake the reaper. And the trader of grapes, him that soweth seed. It’s using an imagery here.
Now, of course, the plowman is breaking up the ground, but the reaper is reaping the harvest.
Now, the reaper is barely able to get the harvest out before the ground is being broken up for another harvest. The trader of grapes. Now he’s completing a harvest and he’s overcome by him that’s sowing seed.
We come into a time in which the Lord brings things to maturity, and you don’t stay at that level, it just keeps rotating on faster and faster.
Now this is what I’m concerned about. Is there a process of attaining spiritual things so that we do not have to follow the old way of things to go out and sow the word of God in somebody’s heart?
And then say, now you go home and pray about it. And so, they go home and they pray and they fast, and maybe six years, 10 years, 12 years from now, there comes forth the first evidence that that seed is sprouting, and there’s going to be some fruitfulness in the life.
I know that’s true in my life and those of others.
Many people have said, you know, the Lord gave me word many years ago, and now I see it beginning to come to pass.
But the word coming forth today is not like that. I receive a word from God, and it is fulfilled the same day.
The plowman is going to overtake the reaper. There’s not going to be a long process by which we come into things of spirit, but we’re going to learn how in the will of God and in this marvelous day to come into the things of the spirit more rapidly.
This is welcome by all believers because I can remember people getting very discouraged who received prophecies in the early days, and they’re just now beginning to come to pass.
From this point on, it should be a possibility that you could hear the Word and hear it in such a way that it reached an area of effectiveness in your life from the very beginning.
Of course, there isn’t anything that replaces walking with God. There’s no instant saints or instant apostles, it doesn’t come that way.
You’re going to find that still God will put you through a process, but so much that God speaks to your heart does not require the long process.
You can come into one step and another step and another step with such rapidity that you find that the prophecy is fulfilled that Paul spoke of in Romans, that the Lord will do a quick work in the earth and He’ll cut it short in righteousness. This quick work is what we’re concerned about, that there should be something rapidly take place. Amen. We don’t care how long it takes, you know, for God to do it, just so that we are moving at the maximum attainment continually at every step of the way. Then we know He’s not going to waste one day of our life and we’re going to come into it.
Let’s talk about this process of attainment. How do we attain? First, let’s see how we have attained in the past. First, we hear the word, then we go home, we try to remember it, and we find that we have remembered very little, and we pray about it, and then by and by, a little bit of that gets to our spirit, and we’re quite pleased with that, and then it looks like something good’s going to come out of our life, that’s been the process of attaining something so far.
In the future it’ll be possible to open a person’s spirit and they will hear what God is saying and they’ll let it penetrate into their hearts and into their spirit and there’ll be an immediate attainment in the future.
When we prophesy over people, I’m going to get more concerned to see that their spirit is opened and when their spirit is opened for us to prophesy directly into their spirit the Word of God, it will bypass the process that seems to normally take place.
The conscious mind receives it, and if it receives it often enough and impressively enough, it seems to sync it with force to the subconscious. From the subconscious, it seems to reach the realm of our spirit, and from the realm of our spirit, we come in to attain or become the thing that God says.
Wouldn’t it be much easier if we could just open a person’s spirit and prophesy the word of the Lord to them directly? Then the attainment would come forth almost immediately.
You say, what about the conscious mind then? Would we remember it? Yes, because the conscious mind is very close to the subconscious. The subconscious mind has excellent recall in the memory banks of the brain. If you hypnotize a person, you bring the unconscious, subconscious mind, into control and you begin to ask some questions, they can relive and tell you every detail of events of their life, going back to the time that there’s a small child, things that you would be unable to recall consciously.
Do you understand how effective this would be that if it reached your spirit and by pass that unconscious level or subconscious level, it’d be possible for you to say indeed that the day has come, to hear it is to become it?
The word of God prophesied that it would come to pass in those days that I’m going to write my word, God said, upon the fleshly tablets of their heart.
That meant by writing it directly upon their heart instead of just in their mind, it was going to be something that would bring forth immediate result and change in the individual’s life.
Worship seems to help open the human spirit toward God. And if there could be worship, I mean real worship prior to the preaching of the word, I believe that with the openness of your spirit would make the messages and the prophecies a hundred times more effective.
Sermons and messages that are heard with a worshipful spirit are immediately effective.
If a prophecy is coming and that prophecy could be received with faith, there would not be the struggle of the conscious mind to accept it, with all the warring that that carnal area of your mind brings, but that part of your spirit that is filled with faith would grasp that word.
You remember what Hebrews 4 say? The word preached did not profit them not being united in faith to them that heard it.
There must be some way that word becomes a living part of you. It could be if you heard it through your spirit rather than just through the physical ears, having it dwell in the conscious mind.
And don’t say that there isn’t a difference. There is a difference. Once you have learned and trained or been brought to this level, and I you don’t know how to do it or what it could accomplish in you, but you just receive that word as a present reality, it can work.
You could receive a miracle word that would work in your life from the very moment that you hear it.
And the plane of anointing of the living word as this comes could just lift the church up instantly.
I believe that if I could say something to a person under the anointing of the Holy Spirit and they believed me, I believe it would work wonderful things in their life almost instantly.
What could be done to a whole congregation that would just learn how to open their spirit to the Lord and the Lord would speak?
Five minutes of a living, creative word to people who were really open in the spirit might well do more than months of explaining every little detail of how the word is written on your heart. You do not have to consciously understand how the living word creates in you, just as long as it creates in you.
Instantly your life is changed, and you are walking with God on a new level, it happens to me every day, every day I am a new person, the person I was yesterday is gone, this makes the Christian life exciting. It’s called accelerated growth.
I believe this. Amen. That’s the message. Are you gonna work on that? How many like to just shoot right up into the things of God, would you? Get rid of this hanging fire.
