The Spirit speaketh of that which the Body should engage in warfare, of a way that we can enter into victory. The Holy Spirit has brought so real the battle against the spirit of heaviness and the resentment of the enemy that has come upon the people of God until they are heavy and they sleep. They find themselves drowsy. They go to pray or read the Word and they fall asleep. They find even a heaviness on them when they come to worship. It is an assault of the enemy and I have a witness within my heart that God wants to break it now. A principality has come and it is time we recognize it and see it judged and broken.
Prophecy
The spirit of heaviness cometh not from the hand of the Lord, but from the enemy. For who would make thy heart heavy in the days when the Lord has caused thee to rejoice? Who would cause thee to react in heaviness and slumber for those who are rebellious and resentful against thee? Should not thy heart leap for joy in the midst of this kind of persecution? Should there not be an openness toward God that causes thee to walk before His face, alert and alive to God? Whence cometh that heaviness? It cometh not from the Lord, but it cometh from the enemy.
Behold, thou shalt rise as one in faith and thou shalt claim before the face of the Lord that which shall bind this day the principality of heaviness that comes against the people of the Lord, that they shall become alive. No longer shall that enemy be able to assault thee, to hit at thy very metabolism, the workings of thy mind, thy energies, thy strength, thy whole being to make thee of heavy heart when thou hast no cause to be heavy; to cause thee to be downcast when there is no reason to be downcast.
Come ye disciples of the Lord and rejoice, for the Lord shall quicken thee and make thee to live in His presence. Yea, the time has come that He shall cause thee to follow on to know the Lord; He shall come unto thee as a rain, as the former rain and the latter rain to the earth. He has torn us and He will heal us. After two days will He raise us up and the third day we shall live in His sight. Is it not the hour that He raiseth thee up and causeth thee to live in His sight?
Prayer
Lord, we are not as those who sleep. The Word says we are not of those who are of the night who sleep, we are to be alert, alive. Father, in the name of Jesus, we take dominion over this principality that comes against Your people, and by Your authority and by the force of Your Spirit and it’s direct command, we bind this spirit and bring it unto judgment. We ask that it shall be destroyed for this people; that there should be that judgment that shall break it and bring it to an end; that there be an awakening among Thy people.
Prophecy
We prophesy unto Babylon: no longer shalt thou sleep and be heavy, but there shall be that which shall waken the people of God within thee, and they shall see the hour and they shall hear the word and the trumpet shall not go unheeded, but they shall be summoned to battle. They shall forsake Babylon and all of its bondages, and they shall leave its oppressions behind them.
O thou people of the Lord, thou art free this day from that which has oppressed thee. Thou art not to give thyself again to the heaviness of the world round about thee. A little slumber and a little sleep and so shall the destruction come upon them as upon fools. But it shall not be upon thee, for the Lord shall make thee alert that thou shalt flee from the wrath that is coming upon the earth, and be not partakers of her judgments. For the Lord is with thee that thou shalt be a free people. Thou art pilgrims of the Lord brought forth for an hour of blessing. In the midst of wrath He has remembered mercy and grace and He has visited upon thee this anointing of the Lord that you should be free. Yea, only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Thou shalt be alert to see it, but thou shalt not be a partaker of it because the Lord has lightened thy understanding, because He has led thee. Thou shalt trust in Him with all thy heart and thou shalt follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. You shall be obedient in all things unto that which the Lord directeth thee. Thou art a people raised up for a work that He hath before planned for thee to perform. Thou art a people brought forth out of weakness that you should manifest His strength. Thou art the heritage of the Lord brought forth for this hour, an instrument in His hand. Though thou be as the worm Jacob, He shall make thee into a sharp threashing instrument having teeth, that ye shall beat the mountains to chaff.
Oh, the Lord be with thee in the midst of the smallness that is thine and the littleness that thou hast in thine own sight. Yet let the Lord be great in thy sight and let Him be exalted. Let the Lord be honored, let Him be praised. No longer shalt thou look upon thy bondages and oppressions and restrictions and limitations as valid. It is because you have accepted them as real that thy heart has been heavy and you have been victimized by the spirit of heaviness.
But as the anointing of faith comes upon thy heart and ye shall stand and prophesy with joy, thy mountains shall wither away. Ye shall stand and sing for joy before the face of the Lord and the clouds shall give way and the sun shall shine through. Behold, thou art no longer to accept thy limitations, O Zion. Thou are to look unto the Lord that will enable thee and make thee strong and give thee grace. Stand and sing as the people who are appointed to great things, as a people that have been commissioned by the Lord and have submitted themselves to His hand. So the Spirit of heaviness is bound from you, and if you be obedient and you follow in this word, that heaviness shall not overtake thee. It shall not overcome thee. It shall not harass thee.
Exhortation
There is a wavering of faith here because there is not an acceptance of this on the part of some of you that will make it as valid to you as it should be. Do you understand what this word has said? It is either the greatest truth that has come to us to loose us, or it is the greatest lie that has ever been prophesied. It’s the most false thing in the world or it’s the truest thing in all the world. If we believe the prophecies though, we have to come to the same conclusion that this prophecy proclaimed—that the restrictions and limitations are not valid. God has proclaimed our liberation. It is when we look at them and accept them as real that the spirit of heaviness comes upon us. When we say, “Lord, You have set me free; Lord, I believe what You have done; I believe Your commission; I believe the Word of the Lord;” when we stand and believe that with all of our heart, then the heaviness lifts.
The prophecy has come, and for the moment your vision is pure and clear and there is no heaviness, there is no sleepiness, but there is an alertness. Everything is alive. The anointing of the Spirit within is helping you to understand. Walk in it in the name of the Lord. You can do it; it is not anything beyond you. If He had asked a great thing, you would have done it. All He is asking is, “Don’t look upon the mountains as being real; look upon the word of God as being reality, the liberation that God has said.” This is the greatest discipline of your mind.
Prophecy
For Satan has created in the world about thee an illusion that he is the prince of this world, and yet thy God reigneth. He has come to create within thee that he controls all these systems and yet thy God saith that He is establishing the Kingdom. You look upon that which is deceitful and dishonest among the hearts of men and you say in your heart, “All men are liars.” But God says, “I have a remnant that have not bowed their knee to Baal”, and that’s enough. We look at that which is the way of evil, the multitudes which go on the broad way to destruction and we’re moved by the illusion of the majority; we’re moved by the illusion of the greatness of mountains; and yet He that hath the mustard seed faith, hath more than all that he sees round about him. He has within him the miracle of change. He has within him that which is the key that unlocks the door to God’s treasure house. God who has given you a word abideth faithful.
Oh, let the people stand upon the word that God hath given and let them rejoice in it. Then shall they be delivered from the spirit of heaviness, then shall they see it judged, then shall the house of God be alive with the Shekinah glory, then shall the fire of the Lord be within their spirit. For the strength of the Lord shall be in their words. They shall prophesy one to another and build one another up in the faith.
But if ye be overcome by the spirit of heaviness, what shall ye prophesy? Shall ye prophesy and impart thy heaviness to another? Nay, thou shalt prophesy according to thy proportion of faith. Thou shalt build up and create by that which God bringeth forth in each one of you. When you see your brother lagging, ye shall stand with prophecies that shall rebuke, exhort, encourage, comfort, edify and build him up in the holy faith that he shall walk with the Lord. Oh, the time has come to possess the Kingdom.
Exhortation
Isn’t this what God said? If we begin to believe the word of God and look not into the circumstances around about us, that heaviness will disappear. You will no longer be a part of the night, but you will be a part of the day. The Lord gave us the prophesy; now He is giving us the Scripture to show us the prophecy was based upon Scripture too. God gives us the text after He preaches it to us.
But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; that is the thing that will keep us from the heaviness and the slumber, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation. I Thessalonians 4:8.
Let a man despair and heaviness will overtake him, but if he has that hope of salvation, if he is continually hoping and believing, the heaviness does not take over. Notice also that the breastplate of faith and love protects you. You believe God and flow in the love. For God appointed us not unto wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as also ye do. I Thessalonians 5:9–11.
