None of you shall go out of the door until morning

Satan knows his defeat is through the blood of Jesus Christ, but we need to see how far-reaching the victory of Christ really is.

Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out, and take you lambs according to your families, and kill the Passover. And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of this house until morning. For Jehovah will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side-posts, Jehovah will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever. And it shall come to pass, when ye are come to the land which Jehovah will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service. And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? that ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of Jehovah’s Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshiped. And the children of Israel went and did so; as Jehovah had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they. Exodus 12:21–28.

The Passover was far more extensive in its application than we have realized. It initiated judgment in the land of Egypt, by which the Lord was exalted. The blood of the Passover lamb gave immunity and averted judgment until the morning when God’s people were delivered out of Egypt. The blood gave protection for entire households; it seemed to reach out into collective units more than to individuals.

In this walk also, God reaches out into families. Though some family members accept it, some reject it and some accept it half-heartedly. Even though they may not all come into this walk, their spiritual life is strengthened because of the faithfulness of the loved one who claims the precious blood of Jesus over the entire household. All night the Israelites stayed behind closed doors and immunity lasted until morning. If they had gone out, they would have passed from under the protection of the blood and been open for judgment.

This is the time for us to stay under the protection of the blood of Jesus Christ and not deliberately walk away from its immunity. Jesus emphasized that same truth when he ministered the Communion to the disciples. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. I Corinthians 11:26. It is good to remember the resurrection of Jesus, but until He comes, we must show forth His death and enter into the protection, the immunity and release He gives. The Passover reveals this is what the Communion is to mean to us.

In the Old Testament God told Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Genesis 7:1. After they had gone into the ark, God shut the door and it wasn’t opened again until the Lord gave the word. Tribulation judgments are coming, but God makes a provision: get into the ark of His blood.

In the parable of the ten virgins, the five foolish virgins went to buy additional oil. While they were gone, the Bridegroom came, the wise virgins entered in, the door was shut irrevocably, and the foolish virgins could not enter.

These Scriptures, related to the end time, seem to indicate that the day of grace is limited in time; however, the opportunity that God has given in this day is beyond measure. What glorious spiritual opportunities and blessings have been rained upon us from heaven: a rich word to walk in, fellowship, encouragement, intercession, ministry and deliverance to help us. However, this day of opportunity and blessing is limited in time.

Some say, “When I get my affairs settled, I’ll give more attention to the church.” When that time comes, it will be too late. The trivial excuses to neglect or draw back from this walk are inexcusable when you consider the importance of the day in which we are living. It’s getting closer to that time when we won’t have the opportunity we have now.

Jesus spoke of this day when He said that many would seek to enter in and not be able (Luke 13:24). God brought us in and we’re on our way. How fortunate and blessed we are! Our eyes and our hearts are open; our feet are on the path to the Kingdom—let’s walk in it. Everything is working for us, so stay under the protection of that precious blood until morning.

Pure nectar from heaven and dynamite for Satan are rolled into the beautiful book of Colossians. An outstanding passage is chapter 1:16–22: For in him (Christ) were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him; and he is before all things, and in him all things consist (or hold together). He simply speaks a word and every star is held in place. You can analyze it and say certain laws are operating, but we know Who made the laws.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it was the good pleasure of the Father that in him should all the fulness dwell; and through him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross; through him, I say, whether things upon the earth, or things in the heavens. And you, being in time past alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you wholly and without blemish and unreprovable before him: Colossians 1:16–22.

Everything exists through Jesus and unto Jesus. He makes it all hold together, from the most infinitesimal molecule to the most infinite galaxy. Yet He came down to earth in such a humble, limited way as a man to shed His blood and reconcile unto God all things in heaven and on earth. By the blood of Jesus Christ the heavens were purged and the world will be freed from all vanity and vexation. The cleansing, purifying, redeeming blood of Jesus is justifying you before God. The life of the flesh is in the blood. Jesus spilled His blood for one purpose—His life had to be given as a ransom and an atonement for many.

We do not wrestle with Satan but we stand in the tremendous protection of Christ’s blood, believing that the blood of the covenant guarantees the defeat of Satan’s principalities and powers. We will overcome through the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, because His blood is cleansing and purifying us, making us a Kingdom of priests unto God (Revelation 5:9–10). Washed in that precious blood, we are God’s holy creation.

Just as the lamb suffered in the Old Testament—the innocent for the guilty—Christ suffered and shed His blood for us. There is a transference of our guilt upon Him, and a transference of His righteousness upon us. We become the righteousness of God by faith, as He who knew no sin was made sin for us. Through the shedding of innocent, pure, undefiled, holy blood, we are redeemed: not by silver or gold but by the blood of Christ as of a lamb without spot and without blemish (I Peter 1:18–19).

In John’s vision (Revelation 5) he saw the great consternation in heaven, when no one was found to open the book with the seven seals. Human destiny could not be determined nor resolved in the will of the Father until one was found who was worthy to open the book and release to man everything that the heart of the Father had planned. No one was found worthy except the Lion of the tribe of Judah. When John turned to see the Lion of the tribe of Judah, he saw a Lamb, as though it had been slain with many grievous wounds; and all began to rejoice, because “worthy was the Lamb that had been slain,” who had shed His precious blood to redeem people out of all nations, kindreds and tongues unto Himself.

The book of Revelation gives the details of the seals being removed from the book, and the restoration of all things. It tells of judgments that are to sweep the earth, of things that are to be changed. The climax is foretold as the age comes to an end with a great convulsive shudder, and the heavens are filled with hallelujahs, “for now is come the salvation of our God.” The marriage of the Lamb has come and His Bride has made herself ready. With great festivities and joy the will of the Father is made known. Christ began our salvation, and by His blood all things will be reconciled and brought to a conclusion.

We need the protection and the efficacy of that blood of the covenant over our heart and life. We want to dwell under it continually: to be aware of it and appropriate its power and its significance to overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
