Hebrews 12:18–29: For ye are not come unto a mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard entreated that no word more should be spoken unto them; for they could not endure that which was enjoined, if even a beast touched the mountain, it shall be stoned; and so fearful was the appearance, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake: Hebrews 12:18–21.
When God shook the earth, it was at mount Sinai, the whole ground shook, the ground trembled and even Moses was scared.
God is going to shake again, not only the earth, but also the heavens. The spiritual realm of the second heaven, in which Satan rules, through fallen angels- Rev 12: 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and jten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth.
The manchild is caught up and displaces Satan from the second heaven in which he now rules, and he is cast to the earth, and the wrath of Satan begins, the great tribulation which lasts for three and a half years. He now no longer has access to the second heaven.
But also the first heaven will be shaken, the natural realm of the stars and planets, and solar systems. There will be solar flares, which will wipe out power for months. Which means you have no access to the internet, your power goes out so that you are in darkness, and will have to have lanterns or flash lights. No electricity, so no refrigeration. Hospitals will be shut down. You cannot buy gas for your vehicles.
Meteors will hit the earth, wiping out cities. The sun will be darkened, so that there will be darkness on the earth and people cannot see, like in the judgments on Egypt-Exodus10:22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: 23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
This is the first negative picture. Paul said, “You’re not going back to the days of Moses, when the law was given on Mount Sinai, with so many amazing things that happened there,” and he describes them.
“When God speaks now, it will be different. Then, they closed their ears and entreated that those words should not be spoken. They could not bear to hear: they said, ‘Moses, you go and hear the word of the Lord. Bring it to us and we will try to do it, but we can’t hear it, we can’t bear it.’
You are not come to that, but ye are come unto Mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable hosts of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect. Verses 22, 23.”
This is mystical in its content because it is speaking of the whole spirit realm; it is speaking of the just men that have already entered into perfection. “Now,” he said, “we are come to that,” and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better than that of Abel. Verse 24. The blood of Abel cried out to the ground for revenge, but the blood of Jesus cries for mercy and help for us, so we are come to something entirely different than what they came to in the Old Testament at Mount Sinai.
See that you refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned them on earth, much more shall not we escape who turn away from Him that warneth from heaven; whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain. Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe: for our God is a consuming fire. Verses 25–29.
This is a complicated passage to follow, but in effect it is saying, “God once spoke from Sinai, and the mountain trembled, and there was darkness. The people couldn’t bear to hear the word that the Lord spoke and they entreated that it not be spoken to them anymore.
And God spoke to His people henceforth by the priest and the prophet. The priest would be the spokesman of the people before the face of God, and the prophet would be the spokesman of God to the face of the people. No longer did God speak His word directly to the whole congregation of Israel, though He did manifest Himself in amazing manners at times, as in the dedication of the Temple in the days of Solomon, when the glory came down.
But from that time on, God spoke by an intermediary. But now we are coming to something else; we are coming to Mount Zion, to the Great Spirit realm, to the hosts of angels. And when we come to this, He is not going to be speaking from the earth, but from the heavens, and He will shake everything that can be shaken.
This word will shake—not a mountain—this will shake everything that’s been made. Everything that can be shaken will be removed out of the picture. And then we will receive a Kingdom which cannot be shaken.”
I have given you this passage for one reason: As God’s living word is coming forth to His people again today, there is a phenomena that has to be understood; your lives are being shaken.
You know how deeply your life has been shaken, right down to the foundation.
When this message begins coming forth in its purity, people are not just being blessed and inspired; they are being shaken.
God begins to shake individual lives until everything has to go under the searchlight of God with the question, “Is this something that is to pass away and be removed?” as God begins to establish the Lordship of Christ over the lives of His people.
The Lord is still speaking, and you’re still being shaken. You would probably like to have a vacation to be able to relax a little bit from being pressed and shaken.
But let’s worship God with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. He is getting rid of the things that have to go.
God is bringing a two-fold revelation. He is revealing HIMSELF to us, and He is revealing OURSELVES (our soul) to us. With every revelation of the Lord, we have a corresponding revelation of what we were and of what we needed.
It has been devastating, and the more we see of His glory, the more we say, like Isaiah, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. Isaiah 6:5.
So we open our hearts to say “Keep on speaking Lord, we will not run away from it as they did at Sinai. We will not entreat that the word shall not be spoken to us in this day; but let God proclaim His word out of Zion, and let it shake everything that can be shaken.
Babylon, your walls are cracked, you’re coming down. That which man has built, hay, wood and stubble, the Lord is putting the match to it. The gold, the silver and the precious stones, the building upon the proper foundation of Christ, is that will remain.”
