Deliverance from futility 1

There was a time in which Elijah had been through the great contest on Mount Carmel and the prophets of Baal had been slain. He was weary. He was threatened by Jezebel. He ran into the wilderness, and under a juniper tree prayed that he would die. Then the angel of the Lord came and prepared a feast for him, and said, “Arise, Elijah, and eat, for the journey is too much for thee.” And again he slept. Again the angel of the Lord came, prepared a great feast and said, “Arise, Elijah, and eat; for the journey is too much for thee” (I Kings 18:17–19:8).

The Spirit bears witness it is that double portion that the Lord brings to His heritage when it is weary and faint. This is a day that we should prophesy strength to one another. We should sing the songs of hope and encouragement. We’ve been through one battle after another and the weariness and fatigue of battle is upon many of the believers. Yet they know that before them lie the greatest objectives of all. The Lord would revive your spirit and the Lord would say, “Arise, and eat; the journey is too much for thee.” But you’re going to stand in living words from the Lord. You will have a heart that is prepared and anointed of the Lord and you will go ahead because it is in His strength and in His power that you will prevail; it is in His victory that you’re going to stand—not in our strength but in His strength.

Be renewed, O house of the Lord. Be ye strengthened. Let the downcast heart be lifted up, for the Lord hath many things for thee yet. Yea, the journey is great, but thou shalt not look to human endurance; thou shalt look unto the Lord who shall revive His heritage when it is weary and bring a double portion of His Spirit upon it and prepare it to move on in the things of the Lord. Amen.

For behold, hath not the Lord spoken in times past in diverse manners and many ways? Hath not the Lord revealed unto thee the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world? But in this day the Lord shall reveal the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He shall be thy strength and fortress. He shall stand with thee, and thou shalt go in and thou shalt do battle in the name of the Lord.

This is the day that the Spirit of the Lord doth bid thee to arise and to appropriate the strength of the Lamb within thy spirit. For thou shalt no longer be cast down; yea, thou shalt no longer be wearied and fatigued because of the way, neither shall thy soul be discouraged within thee. For behold, doth not the enemy come against thee? Yea, and is not his strategy even to wear out the saints of the Most High? But thou shalt arise in this hour and say, “Yea, thy God reigneth, O Zion.” Ye shall reach up and ask of the Lord rain in the time of latter rain and He shall pour out upon thee a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive. Yea, let thy heart be open and let there be that drawing of the vicarious life and strength of Christ unto thy spirit that thou mayest be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inward man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Yea, let thy heart be set upon the Lord in this hour. For as thou dost submit thyself unto thy God, He shall surely lead thee forth in victory.

It is good to know that there is a hope in the time of calamity. For as you look at the world at this time you see death, sorrows—nothing but problems. But even as it was a long time ago when it was necessary to put the blood on the door post so that the avenging angel would spare the people of God, today it is good to know that we have the blood on the door posts of our hearts. And at a time when it seems that there isn’t much hope left, we have a hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

When thou passest through the water, shall He not be with thee? When thou walkest through the fires the Lord shall be thy strength. Behold, the day hath come upon thee, O saints of the Lord, that thou shalt rejoice in the strength of thy God. Hath He not commanded thee, “Be strong and rejoice in the word of the Lord.”? Has He not set before thee a day when thy hopes shall arise and thou shalt lay hold upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living? Behold, the hour is upon thee that thou shalt strengthen thy hands in the Lord thy God and thou shalt walk in His commandments and be strong to fulfill the word that He has set before thee. Let the house of the Lord sing and rejoice in it this day.

Behold, this day the Lord shall accomplish a great thing within thee. He shall come forth and do battle against every limitation in thy mind and thinking. The Lord shall bring down every barrier and limitation and thou shalt go forth in the strength of the Lord.

The Lord thy God is in the midst of His house. Rejoice this day and know that God is with thee. Be encouraged in the

Lord, be strengthened. Know that the God of battles, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the same God yesterday today and forever, and He dwelleth with in His house this day.

Yea, prophesy again and say unto the people of the Lord: is not the stench of the decaying bodies noisome unto thee? O ye warriors, that have been in the battle, is not the stench of the defeated foe great in thy nostrils, and behold, the roar of yet undefeated foes before thee? But thou shalt look unto the Lord for He shall bring the sweetness. He shall be unto thee like fine incense. Thou shalt rejoice. The battle hath been great and the weariness upon thee is great. Behold, do you not look upon the world and all of the things of Satan that cometh against thee and say, “How long? How long until the Lord shall make a full end and the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea? How long shall it be ere this darkness pass and the Kingdom shall burst forth in its glory? How long before He shall come as the morning? Oh, how long before He shall come unto us with all the blessing and glory of His presence?” Yea, but yet for a little while, while the day is yet upon thee of battle, thou shalt enter into it with all thy heart and soul and mind and strength. And as the warrior of old who fought the Philistines until the end of the day, and when he finished, the sword clave to his hand and he was unable to let go, O God, grant that we will stand in Your Kingdom with the sword cleaving to our hand, because we have been anointed by the Lord, that we have pressed in in His strength and in His might. It is the time of renewing thy strength, O house of the Lord. It is the time that thou shalt not look upon the present moment but thou shalt despise it even as the Master did in the hour. For the glory that is set before thee, thou shalt despise this momentary battle. And if the pressure be great upon thee, ye shall rise in faith and say, “It is but for a moment. It is but for a moment.” Behold the Kingdom cometh and the King shall reign in Zion in peace. Amen.

This is the day when thine heart shall say with the apostle, yea, that ye shall count not the sufferings of this present time worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed unto thee. Yea, for though the whole creation hath been subjected unto futility, yet in this hour thou shalt be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. And art thou not, O house of the Lord, even that vanguard of the sons of God that shall bring forth, that shall loose the creation into the glorious liberty of the children of God? This is thy heritage. This is thy portion. This is that whereunto the Lord thy God hath called thee and thy spirit shall rise at His bidding and ye shall accomplish His will; ye shall fulfill His purpose; and yea, be not downcast and fear not, O flock of the Lord, for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give thee the Kingdom and though thou art poverty stricken in thyself, yet He shall make thee rich in faith and heirs of His Kingdom because He hath promised it unto thee.

Thou shalt remember in this hour the Word of the Lord that came unto the servant of God. He looked about him and he spoke forth to his brethren, “There remaineth much land yet to be possessed.” So it is with thee, O remnant of the Lord, that thou hast walked forth and claimed great and mighty things in the name of thy God and thou hast possessed great and high things in the realm of the spirit. But thou shalt rejoice in that the Lord has set before thee not one portion but two; yea, thou shalt sing and rejoice for the Lord has set upon thee the mercy of the Lord and He hath also brought unto thee the judgments of thy God, that thou shalt loose and thou shalt bind and thou shalt bring forth out of the treasure house of thy God the blessings that hath been ordained to flow from before the foundations of the earth. Let the people of the Lord rise in faith. Yea, let their spirits be set and strong before the face of their God this day for the Lord shall bring forth fresh oil. The Lord shall bring forth bread to strengthen thine heart that thou shalt walk in the way of thy God.
