Our spirit preexisted before we were born a human being. Our spirit came out of heaven as a perfect spirit. It came out of a perfect environment, but our spirit did not have within it the capability of becoming a son of God, it was just a spirit like any other spirit in heaven, not even much different from the angelic spirits, but it was a spirit. We were a spirit being before we became a human being.
Zechariah 12:1 (KJV) The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
The lord formed the spirit within us. Now that word formeth is a Hebrew word yāṣar: which means to squeeze it into something.
In the womb of our natural mother he squeezed the spirit in. When our spirit entered the womb of our mother, the soul was produced as it entered that tiny little body inside our mother. Our soul becomes the mediator between the spirit and the body. The soul is created by of our spirit being joined to a physical body.
We have a spirit within us and it came from the purity and glory of heaven into this world of sin. Our spirit became clothed with a soul which has a mind of its own, it has emotions, and it has a will.
Our spirit came out of that environment of heaven but the light in our spirit soon begins to get dimmer and dimmer because it is surrounded by the soul. It does not go out but it’s not what it was like when it came from heaven, and it loses that connection with God because our soul has become predominate as it begins to develop.
Ezekiel 18:3 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.
4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
It didn’t say the spirit that sinneth shall die. The soul that sins shall die. The Hebrew word for soul is nepesh. The soul that sins, it shall die.
The problem resides in our soul. In our soul we have received the D.N.A of our natural parents. Our soul has to be purified; if our soul was pure we could see in the spirit the invisible realm and our body would never die.
We have to receive the D.N.A of God in our spirit, which is called being born from above, which we have to learn how to develop in, so that Jesus is fully formed in our spirit. Then our soul has to be transformed, which is a change of life form. Then our mortal body can be quickened.
