MATTHEW 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. The writer concludes this passage of scripture with this verse:
MATTHEW 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. Forty-two generations
However, if you count very carefully the generations listed in Matthew 1, there are only forty-one, not forty-two generations? There is a missing generation, so where is this generation?
PSALMS 22:30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. Jesus died without having any natural children of His own. However, King David, with supernatural foresight and revelation, wrote about a generation to come that would be counted by the Lord Jesus as a generation — a generation that would be like Him — a generation in His own likeness.
When we look at this present generation of young people, we often see them as a drug-ridden, immoral, rebellious age group.
These days, we face a generation that has tasted everything that their culture and the world can offer. However, this same generation is ripe for another great outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
God views this generation of young people as His special secret weapon.
They are the Jesus 42 Generation, and they shall ascend the hill of the Lord. Countless millions of young people are on the brink of the greatest revival the church has ever seen.
The Lord’s ability to save and transform the youth of today must not be underestimated. The wave of God’s Spirit that swept across the earth, known as the Jesus revolution or the charismatic movement was just a token of what is upon us now.
God’s ability to save and purify the harvest is about to be demonstrated to the church in a remarkable way. Satan’s accusation has always been that Jesus can save people, but He can’t deliver them from sin!
That is about to change in a dramatic way.
This generation – God’s secret weapon will very quickly come to the fullness of the stature of Christ and will help to reap the FINAL harvest.
The Prophet Malachi prophesied about this generation:
MALACHI 1:11 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts. God was saying that there will come a time when in every nation, tribe and tongue there will be people who worship God with PURE HEARTS, and God’s name will be great in every nation of the world.
MALACHI 3:2 But who may abide the day of his coming? And who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: 3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
PSALMS 102:12 But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations. 13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. The Son of Righteousness is about to rise with healing in His wings to heal, restore and purify this generation of young people.
This generation will go forth across the earth as a new missionary force, leading countless millions to the Lord. Your sons and daughters are about to be the recipients of a massive move of God, who will rescue a whole generation, which in turn will become ambassadors of the goodness, power and the mercy of God to a dying world. Both good and evil will be harvested:
MATTHEW 13:47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that Preparing for the Harvest 17 was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: 48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
