David was a man after God’s own heart- who would do all His will, because there was intensity (the strength, power, force, or concentration of something) in his heart. Whatever David did he did with all his heart.
When he sinned, he repented with all his heart. He would tear his clothes, put ashes on his head, lift up his voice and weep until he could weep no more. There was intensity (the strength of a source of energy) in his soul and spirit towards the Lord. There was intensity in his feelings.
When he worshiped the Lord, he worshiped the Lord with all his heart; he would dance with all his might.
The intensity that we want to be focused on is the intensity of spirit we want to maintain, for we are entering into the day of spirit.
We are coming out of the church age and into the kingdom. The church age was a day of soul, the day of the individual. The human personality has diluted the ministry of the word, so that we have not been hearing a living word that releases the divine nature.
An intensity of soul can be seen in dancing with all our might, until we run out of breath. The raising of the voice, until it becomes hoarse (sounding rough and grating). The soul responding to Gods Spirit, laughing, shaking and so forth. This is intensity in the soulish realm, which is okay but really doesn’t accomplish much. What we need is an intensity of spirit.
The intensity of spirit is what we need to maintain, it is an intensity of spirit that demands everything of soul and body to respond. To love the Lord with all our heart requires an intensity of feelings, this is the worship He is looking for.
There needs to be intensity in everything we do, but this is an intensity of spirit, not soul-it affects our soul, but our soul is under our spirits control. We don’t have to raise our voice, shout or cry-but the intensity is still there, we can feel its power in our spirit.
Prayer and intercession must be with intensity, yet with a creative faith that does not beg but calls into existence. Intensity must be in our prophesying and in our worship, in everything we do. This is the violence of the Kingdom, but it might not be seen with the eye, it is a thing of spirit.
It is not just a type of soulish expression, although our soul is involved, it must originate in our spirit and be maintained in our spirit. It is expressed through our soul but we try not to offend people. Unless a person has experienced this intensity (expressed through our soul) they will not understand and be embarrassed.
But the strength of our spirit will be expressed, it cannot be denied. It is in the strength of our spirit that we have control over our soul. Without this strength of God in our spirit, we have no control over the soul until it is renewed or restored to its proper place. It is when we are filled with the Spirit, that we can bring our soul and body under subjection.
What we are trying to avoid is the soulish expression of the church age that does not accurately reflect the Spirit of God. In our immaturity, our soulish expression was just our humanity being expressed in our pursuit of the things of God. Just soulish expression itself opens the door for religious spirits or deception to enter in. We must maintain a brokenness of spirit or a spiritual humility until we are led by the Spirit so that we do not get in the way.
Our soul must be involved but we want it under the Holy Spirit’s control. We are to love the Lord with all of our soul. If we have not been filled with the Spirit, we need to believe God and have hands laid upon us, by those who possess Authority in the spirit. When we are filled with the Spirit, we can hear in our spirit a language or we may be so filled with Spirit that we cannot express it in our natural language and it just flows out.
When I was filled with the Spirit I was all by myself in my bedroom. The Holy Spirit revealed to me a truth, and it was so overwhelming that my soul was filled with the Spirit and I heard in my spirit-three Hebrew words which I just repeated over and over again until my spirit was enabled to pray in tongues at the initiative of my will.
The language continually changes and increases my awareness of God’s Spirit so I have never doubted whether It was of God or not. I was baptized in the Spirit about two years after my spirit was quickened through the life of God. When my spirit was enlightened I had a desire to read the word of God and go to church, the whole direction of my life changed and I could not help tell others about the Lord. My spirit was definitely awakened out of its death as was evidenced in the new desires that were birthed in it, but it was not until I had an overwhelming awareness of God in my soul, that I was enabled to differentiate the two. The infilling of the Spirit has more to do with our souls awareness of God, where we are able to discern our spirits contact with God.
Whatever increases my intimacy and awareness of God’s Spirit I pursue and never regret or get in fear about. It is only when God is not manifested in my soul, that I repent of it because the Holy Spirit is faithful to correct me-It is His job to lead me into all the truth. Anyone who is willing to do the Fathers will shall know if its origin is in man or God. The Holy Spirit is faithful to lead us if we are willing to follow. We all start out in deception as the day dawns and the morning star rises in our heart. I continually do not lean unto my own understanding, but in my spirit I trust the Lord and He brings to light in my soul, what I first obtain in my spirit through prayer. If we ask anything according to His will He hears us and answers our prayers. Our spirit must keep asking, seeking and knocking.
When our spirit is quickened through the Life of God, the next experience is being filled with the Spirit where our soul becomes aware of God through the life flow of God’s Spirit. If we have never spoken in tongues it is very difficult to discern our spirit from our soul. By speaking in other tongues we can locate our spirit immediately, for our spirit is praying although our soul is unfruitful. When we pray with our soul we are praying according to our understanding, and are not necessarily praying the will of God. When we pray in tongues our spirit is praying, it is in the activation of our spirit, that our soul comes to understand what our spirit perceives.
Until we can pray in tongues, we just pray the written word. Father your word says, and we repeat it. If we already pray in tongues we ask the Lord to interpret, and the understanding will come into our soul as we learn to discern the difference between our spirit and our soul. There is a private prayer language and also a gift of tongues one of the gifts of the Spirit for use in the church assembly and we must not confuse the Two.
We are not to be concerned about what we do not understand. It is the Holy Spirits Job to teach us, it is our job to ask. What we concern ourselves with is what we do know, and act on that. It is in our hunger after God and our pursuit of Him, that the Holy Spirit is enabled to lead us into all the truth. We need to keep asking, seeking and knocking. It is in our pursuing of other things, and having an unteachable spirit that we get in trouble. Not understanding something is not a bad thing or something that should trouble us if we are seeking the Lord for understanding.
The reason people are deceived is because of a subtle pride in their soul, where their spirit is not seeking to know the truth and they are leaning unto their own understanding because the focus of their spirit is not right. When we think we know something, we do not know how yet to think. We are totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit to teach us and we have to learn how to hear His voice.
This intensity of spirit is a spirit that is pressing into God evidenced in our focus upon Him.
Awesome teaching Lee I’m going to read and meditate on it again tomorrow thanks brother
