Have you accepted His call?
Jer 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Psa 139:16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book (scroll) were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them. 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
Psa 40:7 Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. 8 I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.”
Letter of decree or commission. Carries our purpose or destiny the pathway to find the provisions for fulfilment. Accessed in the heavenly record room. Revealed, unfurled in our hearts as deepest desires, drawings, longings, passion.
Definition-
The treasure that God has set aside for you, designed you to possess (but it requires a battle and maturity to attain). It will enrich your life and bring you fulfilment based on your unique design and will advance the kingdom of God.
Firstborn had the right to a double portion inheritance – culture God not bound by human culture. He chose Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Gideon, David, Solomon, Deborah, Esther. He chooses you!
God chooses to supersede human culture by design. Everyone has birthright regardless of gender or position in family. Regardless of worldly measurements. Our design matched with our destiny brings fulfilment, not futility and frustration.
1 Cor 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. We will not find and fulfil our destiny by intellectual understanding, or by physical strength, or by strength of will. We will find our destiny in an intimate relationship with our creator. Trusting God and living by faith not sight. Surrendering to God’s will for our lives.
1 Cor 1:26 For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; 27 but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, 28 and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, 29 so that no man may boast before God.
1 Cor 1:30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption. Our destiny is to be found in our relationship with God – that is not of our doing.
We must be revelatory to realize our destiny – know Him by experience. Relationship – seeing, hearing, sensing and feeling His voice, heart, vision. To miss our destiny is much more than just our purpose in ministry but more importantly our eternal relationship with our creator. God desires us eternally.
The Spirit of revelation is required to know God, which is our highest calling and the central focus of our destiny. The first step in our quest is for intimacy with the Lord. It is getting to know Him – Who He is, what He does, how He thinks, and what He desires. His character, His nature, His ways.
Even though God is often invisible and inaudible to our physical senses we can still know Him by developing our spirit and soul senses. Close relationship with Him is cultivated the same way human friendships are, through time spent together, communication, vulnerability, and shared interests.
1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, 13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.
We have access to the thoughts of God and the tangible spiritual experience of His emotions by the spirit of revelation. There is creative power in our words when spoken in agreement with Him and His plans and purposes. Are we pursuing Him for this relationship?
2 Timothy 1:9 Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity. Saved = sozo: to save, to deliver or protect (literally or figuratively): to heal, preserve, to do well, to make whole.
Sozo is also used of healing or restoration to health; translated – heal, preserve, save, whole. Called = kaleo – To call, to bid, or to invite. Holy = hagios – sacred, divine, pure, morally blameless, or consecrated. Calling = klesis – destiny, vocation.
God saves us and restores us to wholeness and invites us to participate in His pure and holy destiny that was established in eternity. How will you answer that invitation? Your choice has eternal consequences.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Psa 139:17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will. Chosen to be His sons!
Sons are predestined. Scroll book of our destiny our birthright. We are called and can be adopted into family of God, heavenly and spiritual, supernatural and earthly natural. Will you accept the call, mission to be part of the cosmic battle and noble cause to restore creation?
Isa 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.
We have a choice to accept our mission from God or reject it. God treats us with dignity, honor and respect and gives us all free will. We have 2 choices: the pathway to eternal life His way or the pathway of humanism, our own ways. ‘I did it my way’ – or God’s way?
That choice will determine where and how you spend eternity. You can miss your destiny. You can follow the wrong path. There are many reasons this can happen. Past experience – disappointment and disillusionment. Cynical, skeptical, critical, judgmental.
Laziness – our responsibility. Luke 12:48 From everyone who has been given much, much will be required. Selfishness, being self-centered – when our inheritance is to bless others. Fear – paralyses us. Comfortable, safe and materialistic living only for the present.
Presumption – setting our own path. Past wounds and hurts – injustices, disappointments. Rebellion against authority – must be under authority to release authority. Passivity – enemy opposition – we have to battle fight for it.
Earthbound – as it is in heaven. Settler mentality – not being pioneers. Good the enemy of the best. Apathy – can’t be bothered.
Many biblical figures lost their birthrights or only partially outworked their destinies. Adam and Eve. Cain. Esau. Jacob. Reuben. Simeon and Levi. Judah. Moses. Solomon. Jeroboam.
Will you miss out on your destiny? Will you end up in constant turmoil, remorse and regret?
Don’t let anything stop you. Don’t let your past rob you of your future. Don’t let negative words rob you of your destiny. Don’t be robbed of the destiny that is designed for you to make an eternal difference.
Matt 25:1“Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. 3 For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them… 11 Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ 12 But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’
Matt 25:14 a man about to go on a journey… called his own servants and entrusted his possessions to them. 15 To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey.
Matt 25:16 Immediately the one who had received the five talents went and traded with them and gained five more talents. 17 In the same manner the one who had received the two talents gained two more. 18 But he who received the one talent went away and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.
Matt 25:24 “And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, ‘Master… 25 I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’ 26 “But his master answered and said to him, ‘You wicked, lazy servant… 30 Throw out the worthless servant into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth’.
We can choose to serve God, or we can make ourselves God; but we can’t do both. We can choose to follow the word of God, or we can choose to follow the philosophies of men; but we can’t do both.
We can choose to worship in spirit in truth or we can choose the worship that pleases us; but we can’t do both! We can choose the lifestyle of holiness, or we can choose the lifestyle of the world; but we can’t do both!
Joshua 24:15 If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Will you choose your eternal destiny? Are you prepared for the eternal consequences of your choice?
Today I choose to accept my mission. Today I choose to accept my calling. Today I choose to accept my destiny. Today I choose to accept my commission as a son of God. Today I choose to surrender my will and my ways to You. Today I choose to serve the lord.
