Restoration of all things 10

MODULE 12: THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS PART 2 SESSION 10 1 When our spirits resonate with truth we will discover that there are many wonders beyond those specifically mentioned in the Bible We are walking with God on a relational journey to discover more about Him and ourselves and what our role is in restoration We have the Holy Spirit of Truth in us and with us as our guide We have Jesus, the way, truth and life, in us and with us to disciple us We have our loving Father in us and with us to Father us into sonship Agape love should be what we use to measure and test everything against If you don’t resonate with anything on the journey, park it and continue to pursue the truth with God directly There are many things that I don’t yet fully understand cognitively but that does not necessarily make them wrong There have been many things that I was convinced were true that I now realise were merely man’s opinions and ideas The 4 streams of thought that are converging into one mighty river are: Mystic sonship, Realised eschatology, Universal reconciliation, Energy frequency healing We are going to cover the other 3 streams in this module as the mystic stream is the focus of the whole EG programme The fruit of the poisoned tree of Brethrenism includes: · The rapture deception · The millennium deception · The Zionist deception · The dispensationalism deception · The cessationist deception The judgment of the second coming ended the old covenant religious system Destroyed the old temple wineskin system Removed the separation and partition between Jew and Gentile Established one new man in Christ All of the types and shadows of the old covenant, Israel and the land have been fulfilled spiritually and literally in Jesus and the new covenant 2 Cor 1:20 For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us. There is no other way to engage God as Father than through Jesus the Son There are no special cases for “good people”, Jewish people, those of Israeli nationality or those who are sincere followers of any religion – including Christianity! Only those who have realised faith in Jesus can access the Father and be counted as the people of God Of course, God loves all His children unconditionally, and He has forgiven all His children unconditionally; but if they do not know that by experience, it does not benefit their lives Romans 11 in context of Romans as a whole letter which is salvation by faith The context of Rom 2 is Jew and Greek (Gentile): all have sinned and all receive forgiveness through Jesus Sadly, most do not believe it MODULE 12: THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS PART 2 SESSION 10 2 Rom 2:10 but glory and honour and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God. 12 For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law… Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. 29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God. The true Jew has nothing to do with race or religion but it is by faith only, this is followed up later in Rom 9:6 This theme of salvation by faith is continued throughout the book of Romans Rom 3:1 Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the benefit of circumcision? 2 Great in every respect. First of all, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God. 3 What then? If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it? It was only those who believed who were saved, and hence true followers of God and heirs of His promises – compare with Gal 3 Gal 3:8 The scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “All the nations will be blessed in you.” Gal 3:16 Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ. All the covenant promises – including the land – are fulfilled in Christ Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise. Romans 3 continues the theme: Rom 3:9 What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin; Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Rom 3:29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30 since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one. Everyone is treated the same Justification is by faith only Rom 4:1 What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found? Rom 4:11 …and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, 11 and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them, 12 and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also follow in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham which he had while uncircumcised. 13 For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith. MODULE 12: THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS PART 2 SESSION 10 3 The covenant promise that Abraham was heir to the world is confirmed in Heb 11:9 Hebrews 11:9 By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise; 10 for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. – New Jerusalem Heb 11:16 But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them. This promise was again only for those of faith, not by national descent or by religion Paul continues this theme: he has a desire that his kinsmen by race and religion, the Jews, would be saved. They could only be saved by faith; so Paul is grieved that are rejecting the saviour, the Messiah, Jesus Romans 9:1 I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience testifies with me in the Holy Spirit, 2 that I have great sorrow and unceasing grief in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh, 4 who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises, 5 whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen. Paul now makes the same argument: that not all Israel (by birth or religion) will be saved, only the children of promise Rom 9:6 But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; 7 nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but “through Isaac your descendants will be named.” 8 That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants. Galatians 3:29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise. What promises were they heirs of? 2 Cor 1:20 For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us. Paul quotes a prophesy of Hosea illustrating that God was going to call the Gentiles by faith and not reject a remnant of the whole nation of Israel, who would be saved (of course the early church began with that remnant): Romans 9:24 even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles. 25 As He says also in Hosea, “I will call those who were not my people, ‘my people,’ and her who was not beloved, ‘beloved.’ 26 and it shall be that in the place where it was said to them, ‘you are not my people,’ there they shall be called sons of the living God.” 27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, “Though the number of the sons of Israel be like the sand of the sea, it is the remnant that will be saved; 28 for the Lord will execute his word on the earth, thoroughly and quickly.” 29 And just as Isaiah foretold, “Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left to us a posterity, We would have become like Sodom, and would have resembled Gomorrah.” Rom 9:32 Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone, 33 just as it is written, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, and he who believes in him will not be disappointed.” The rejection of Christ the stone MODULE 12: THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS PART 2 SESSION 10 4 In Rom 10 Paul continues the theme: salvation by faith for all, both Jew and Greek Rom 10:12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13 for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” The prophecy of Isaiah was that Gentiles would be saved by faith and make Israel angry but they would still be stubborn and unrepentant. That is still true today; but throughout church history individual Jewish people have embraced Jesus Rom 10:19 but I say, surely Israel did not know, did they? First Moses says, “I will make you jealous by that which is not a nation; by a nation without understanding will I anger you.” 20 and Isaiah is very bold and says, “I was found by those who did not seek me. I became manifest to those who did not ask for me.” 21 But as for Israel He says, “All the day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and obstinate people.” This sets the context for Romans 11: salvation by faith. Remember, there were no chapters or verses in Paul’s original letter Rom 11:1 I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew; or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel? The same theme runs into Rom 11. The key is, who did God foreknow? A whole nation? Or, as the whole of Romans is indicating, those who are of faith? It was, is, and only ever will be, those who are of faith who will inherit the promises in Jesus Rom 8:29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. Rom 11:5 In the same way then, there has also come to be at the present time a remnant according to God’s gracious choice. These are those who have accepted Christ by faith: there is no other way Rom 11:11 I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous. 12 Now if their transgression is riches for the world and their failure is riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fulfilment be! The same argument is re-emphasised by Paul. Salvation has come to Gentiles by Israel’s rejection; of course “their fulfilment” can only follow Paul’s reasoning for the whole letter: when more were saved, there would be more blessing Paul then goes on to talk about the olive tree and branches. This again is the same argument: the real tree is only those of faith; no faith, and the branches are removed. There has only ever been one tree and people who are grafted in on the basis of salvation by faith Rom 11:13 But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if somehow I might move to jealousy my fellow countrymen and save some of them. 15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? MODULE 12: THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS PART 2 SESSION 10 5 Rom 11:16 If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too. 17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, Of course Paul’s desire is that his kinsmen would be grafted back in by accepting Christ and becoming believers Rom 11:18 do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. Rom 11:19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear; 21 for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. Rom 11:22 Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree? 25 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery, so that you will not be wise in your own estimation, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; 26 and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.” 27 “This is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.” The same theme applies: Israel have hardened their heart but should they repent they will be saved; this process has been occurring since Jesus ascended. Alongside the Gentiles realising salvation, so some Jews have realised salvation. In fact Jesus has been visiting many Jewish priests in dreams, as he has also Muslims and Hindus. And so all Israel (all foreknown) will be saved by faith in Christ; the ‘so’ is not an ‘after’, but a method of salvation (by faith, not works or race or nationality). Of course the deliverer is Christ. There is nothing here in context to indicate that the nation of Israel will be saved en masse, or without Jesus Rom 11:28 From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers; 29 for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30 For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience, 31 so these also now have been disobedient, that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy. 32 For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all. 33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! Remember the context is that generation Rom 11:28-32 God’s choice is again, as Paul illustrates in Rom 9, not for a nation or a religion but those by faith. Israel’s gift and calling was only for those who were true Israel by faith, having had their hearts circumcised etc. Of course, God desires that none should perish; and He would be only too willing to make mercy available to Jewish people, but they must have the faith of Christ to receive it The realisation of the power of the cross produces the faith to believe and receive what has already been accomplished MODULE 12: THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS PART 2 SESSION 10 6 The mistake people make in interpreting Romans 11 is that they isolate it from the rest of the letter, when the book as a whole follows the same reasoning throughout. You can take any verse in the Bible out of context and make a false doctrine out of it! This is only dealing with Romans 11; but the New Testament writers are consistent in their interpretation of the promises of God being fulfilled in Christ. Should many Jews turn to Christ in the future, this will of course release much blessing to the world. The context to the whole NT and Romans is the coming final end of the old covenant system for that generation. There is an urgency because it was coming soon and the remnant would be saved from physical death in the destruction of Jerusalem What happened to natural Israel? The kingdom was removed from them for their rejection of Jesus as the chief corner stone and judgment was released. Jesus prophesied this in Matt 21-24 and it fully occurred in that generation John the Baptist prophesied judgment on Israel Matt 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? “Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance; 9 and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father’; for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham. 10 The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 11 As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire 12 His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” This is not a future “hell”, but the end of the covenant world, and death for them in Gehenna Jesus also prophesied judgment on Israel Matt 21-25 Matt 24:1-34, Luke 21:7-32 describes this judgment and all this takes place on that generation We covered this in previous sessions End of the old covenant system (wineskin) and beginning of the new covenant wineskin. The end of the old, natural system, central nation, central city, central temple, symbolised by the curtain of Holy of Holies being torn: now there is open access to the presence of God. New temples, New Jerusalem, Matt 27:51: And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split We are each that new wineskin temple; individually and corporately the New Jerusalem, now Jerusalem is now from above Gal 4:25-26 Mount Zion is spiritual and eternal Heb 12:22-24 The temple is now living and spiritual 1 Cor 6:19, Eph 2:20-22 Acceptable sacrifices are now our lives and praise Rom 12:1-2, 1 Peter 2:5, Heb 13:15 Jerusalem is now above Gal 4:25 Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children. 26 But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother. MODULE 12: THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS PART 2 SESSION 10 7 Heb 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant 1 Cor 3:16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Cor 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? Eph 2:21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, Individually and corporately, as living stones, we are built together as a spiritual house or temple 1 Peter 2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Those sacrifices are now just us living in relationship with God Rom 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Heb 13:15 Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. 16 And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. The land of promise is no longer Canaan but is the world through new heavens and new earth temple: us The old, natural order is only a symbol, type or shadow of the spiritual new order Col 2:16-17, Heb 8:5, Heb 10:1 Col 2:16 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day – 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. Heb 8:4 …since there are those who offer the gifts according to the Law; 5 who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, The old covenant natural types and shadows give way to the new covenant, spiritual, fulfilment Heb 10:1 For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. According to the revelation of the New Testament writers, every expression that once denoted Israel in the Old Testament is now invested with new spiritual significance and is only applicable to the true believer in Jesus Let’s make sure that we are not side-tracked by the Zionist agenda Let’s make sure that our kingdom role as sons and coheirs is not replaced by the deception of a future 1000-year kingdom for a restored Israel MODULE 12: THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS PART 2 SESSION 10 8 Rest is the key to restoration and revelation Start to focus on your breathing, slowing it down, and start thinking of the name of God YHVH Breathe in deeply and exhale slowly: Yod Breathe in Hei and breathe out Vav Repeat: in Hei, out Yod, in Hei, and out Vav… Invite love, joy and peace to flow in you, fill your spirit and soul, and flow through you to create an atmosphere of rest around you You are in a safe place Start to think of an open heaven and set your desire upon it Steps like Jacob’s ladder leading up to heaven Hear the invitation to come up here Shift focus of our mind Walk up those steps to the door Now step through the veil into the kingdom realm Jesus is standing in the doorway Present yourself to Jesus, your High Priest, as a living sacrifice Let Him take you by the hand Ask Him to reveal restoration and the oracles of the Father’s heart Ask Him to take you into the eternal now Ask Him to take you to the fire stones Jesus, please take each person and show them what they need to receive the mandate for restoration Go wherever He takes you Copyright ©2020 Freedom Apostolic Ministries Ltd., a not-for-profit company registered in England.
