Individual inheritance includes our Identity, Redemptive Gift & Destiny. Who am I –my identity. How am I made –redemptive gift. What am I made for –destiny or birthright.
That gift is put in us at conception, and determines the course of our lives, regardless of whether we become Christians or choose to reject Christ. Each person has one primary gift that shapes how we think, feel and act by default
It is how am I wired up or made that enables me to engage in the process of restoring creation. Psychologists term these differences in people as “basic temperaments”, or personality types. How wonderfully am I made.
Prophet. Servant. Teacher. Exhorter. Giver. Ruler. Mercy.
Psalm 139:14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well?
Psa 139:17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
There are other contributing factors that will influence how the redemptive gifts are expressed in a person’s life. Do we know and understanding ourselves fully? Yes -then it probably won’t matter. No –it is important to understand
Maturity. Everyone is at a different level of maturity in their personal development and Christian life. A person’s level of maturity will color how they live out the characteristics of their redemptive gift.
Those who are immature or those who are not seeking to live in the fruit of the Spirit will exhibit the weaknesses of their gifts more than the strengths. While nobody has reached perfection, we should all be working on our character issues to grow up to maturity.
Woundedness. Everyone has experienced painful situations and relationships that have left them wounded. Wounds can change our perception of ourselves and of God.
For example, someone who grew up with an abusive authority figure may become very self-sufficient and independent because they believe they have to make it through life on their own. This is not how God necessarily designed them to be if they are exhorter, servant or mercy gift.
In the prophet and giver gift independence is motivated through the God-given design. How we are broken, the pain in our soul, our wrong response to pain, the coping mechanisms, and how we compensate for those wounds will influence how our gift is expressed.
Sometimes people build walls of self protection as a way of surviving painful circumstances. These self-protecting walls may not reflect our gift and may hinder its God-intended expression.
Identity in relation to redemptive gift. I am functioning for or from my redemptive gift? I am using my redemptive gift to give me my significance. Who would I be if I could not express my redemptive gift?
You are You so find out who you are designed to be. You are unique. Everyone is unique. You are in a process. Everyone is in a process. Have grace and patience for each other.
Why are there potential negative characteristics in each gift? We mature through overcoming. We maintain are dependence on God in the process. We need each other’s gifts. It helps maintain our humility. Stops us being arrogant & puffed up.
Adam was sinless but not perfected. Process of subduing and overcoming causes growth and maturity. We must learn to let the spirit rule over the soul. We must relationally walk with God during this process.
Luke 9:23 And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. Maturity and transformation come through sacrifice & surrender.
Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Apply the victory of the cross to stop living independently and living selfishly.
Father desires to call forth the redemptive gifts of our sonship. I call forth your identity as My sons. I call forth your redemptive gifts. I call forth your identity as an overcomer & conqueror. I call forth your ability to subdue and rule your soul until it is separated and reintegrated.
I call you to be transformed -renewed mind. I release the gathering angels to expose & remove stumbling blocks & lawlessness. To expose & remove demonic strongholds. To expose & remove iniquitous roots.
To expose & remove birthright curses. I call you to surrender & trust Me. I call you to know your true identity, gift & destiny as My children.
Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Do you know His purpose for your life? Have you accepted His call?
Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is… World may have masked, damaged or perverted our identity, our gift & our destiny. God desires to transform us to out work who we are in His service.
It is how I am wired up or designed that enables me to fulfill my destiny to engage in the process of restoring creation. The redemptive gifts are received at conception, rather than salvation.
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations. We are designed on & with purpose.
The gifts tend to shape our personality and the way we may then receive one or more of the spiritual gifts, offices or ministries. A redemptive gift is the grace of God woven into who we are; that when we are made right with God we become able to honor Him with how He has made us to be.
How I am intrinsically made to function. Ideally with Spirit and Soul in harmony. Our soul or heart personality traits developed independently of our spirit. Damaged, masked or perverted by life. Discover the gift then purify and refine the heart to define & polish it.
You are You. You are designed. Everyone is designed. You are unique. Everyone is also unique. You are messed up in some way. Everyone is messed up in someway.
You are a mixture. Everyone is a mixture. We are all in a process of refining, purifying to remove the mixture. So we can be us as designed by God. Respect and honor the differences and uniqueness in each other.
In thinking about the characteristics of the redemptive gifts, it is important to look at what is learned or acquired behavior versus the essence of who and what God designed. Purification and refining separate the gift from negative programming.
Redemptive gift surveys. If you have done it before, use this time to reflect. If not use the surveys by answering instinctively not try to reason. The results help us know how we are wired to flow from our identity not work for our identity.
If God were to remove your ability to function in your redemptive gift personality, how would you feel? The answer will determine how easy it will be to surrender. The more performance orientated doings, the harder it is to surrender and learn to just be.
