ANXIOUS LONGING OR EARNEST EXPECTATION

We’re in the siege, but ours is not a frustration but an “earnest expectation” of the deliverance from futility. Our prayers are not passive but as aggressive as was Elijah’s when he prayed earnestly.

The sovereignty of God and the earnest expectation of the believer combine to bring the spiritual breakthrough that the Lord has promised.

Romans 8:18–25; I Thess. 5:23; I Kings 18:41–46; Psalms 110:1; Heb. 12:2; I Cor. 15:26; Isaiah 11:6; Isaiah 65:25; John 1:6; I Cor. 14:1; Romans 1:25.

We’ve been through a long hard time in which the Lord has been trying to teach us how to communicate and relate, but it is taking this breakthrough into the Kingdom to bring about the oneness that we were taught to anticipate.

This is a victory siege that we are earnestly expecting something to happen.

We’re going to hit a new level and when we hit it we’re going to say that the sufferings at this time are not worthy to be compared, not even worthy to be considered with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

Whenever God can find a people that will not take the glory and they will not take the gold but they will be faithful stewards of His fullness and His richness, He’s going to begin to move to loose creation from futility.

There have been more things born through the travail of intercession in the last two or three years than we have any idea of.

It will take another decade or two before even we are able to evaluate what we’ve been through, the importance of it and the plan of God that has been working in our lives.

There’s no answer to the futility unless God frustrates you on every level that you reach and makes you reach for more.

Whatever pains you are suffering, or whatever agony, they are satanically designed to make you abandon the idea that the next step is the redemption of your body.

The physical realm will continue to be the battleground because it’s the last stronghold Satan has.

This is the key of this siege: We’re going to stand here earnestly expecting.

We’re not struggling through to victory, but we’re believing the promises of God that He has given us the victory and we’re appropriating it with earnest expectation.

God is not going to hold this thing up for any reason except that we won’t take it.

Persistence can be an evidence of faith. Impatience can be an evidence of the frustration of unbelief

Don’t ever get your focus on anything else but the Lord and then He will make alive to you the channels through which He’s going to move.

We might be right in the middle of it and find two dangers: One, that we settle for a portion; and two, we don’t keep our earnest expectation waiting for it to flow.

The best way to be unselfish is for you to be determined with earnest expectation that you will break into the sonship and into the channel and anointing where you’re going to be able to meet the people and help them break through.

Think of yourself in the light of God if you want to meet other people. It is your walk with God that is going to change the world and meet God’s people.

EARNEST REJECTION

The counterpart of our earnest expectation of God’s promises being fulfilled is our earnest rejection of Satan’s assault of condemnation and unbelief. The faith that believes God is also our shield to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Zech. 3:1–7, 4:6–10; I Peter 5:2–10; James 4:7–10; Genesis 3:1; Micah 7:19; Num. 12:1–10; Jude 9; Exodus 33:18; Exodus 34:29; II Cor. 3:7; Heb. 4:2; Num. 13:32; John 13:27; Matt. 27:4; Acts 1:18–19; Luke 14:13; I Cor. 1:27, 29

You can’t referee people’s problems and find any finality to that. You must break through to a new level where those problems are met because of the spiritual level of the people.

We’re really looking for the Lord to bring back the signs and wonders, but it will be on a level of humility.

You don’t have to be a “yes” man to anyone; you have to be a “yes” man to God. Your first consideration is that you have to find out what God is speaking.

The devil is right at the front line where people are set to appropriate what God has for them.

Satan not only accuses the brethren about the brethren, but he accuses each brother about himself. His favorite tactic is to get you to accept that self-condemnation that he would minister to you.

You don’t fail because you’re unworthy. You only fail because you don’t accept God’s commission by faith.

God doesn’t care what you are. If you will be a believer He will do like Abraham; He’ll count it to you for righteousness.

We have to accept the victory that God has given us, but we can still never get it if we don’t learn also how to resist Satan who is trying to keep us from appropriating it.

You don’t realize what God has wrought in you, and the reason that you are not aware of it is because Satan’s still standing there accusing you and you are listening to him.

It is not in the plan of God for you to listen to the devil as well as listening to God. Listen to what God says and you learn how to resist what the enemy’s doing and saying.

Humble yourself before the Lord. Cast your cares upon Him. But when it comes to the devil, don’t you have one illusion about your attitude toward him. Resist him.

It is what you refuse that determines what you are going to get.

How could God promise something and then not give it to you? Because it’s conditional upon your faith.

When you get a Word from God, get your guard up and start resisting everything the enemy does.

Be as humble as you know how, but let there be a continual resistance to everything Satan says to your heart. Don’t listen to his lies.

To eliminate the double jeopardy, resist the devil’s lies but submit yourself very humbly to the Lord because He will always bless the humble.

You do more than believe. You humble yourself before God. That humility puts you in a position where there’s going to be no dealings of God to prevent the answer.

You have right here the key of all successful spiritual warfare.
