But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:16–20.
Do you understand much about the spirit world? What does the devil try to do if he wants to trap a believer? Can he destroy him? Can he drive him down into the depths of iniquity? Rarely; for a season perhaps, but not permanently. The one thing Satan will try to do is to get you to make a bond with some devil-obsessed person or someone who is out of the will of God.
Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath light with darkness? or the sons of Belial with the children of God” (II Corinthians 6:14–15)?
Oh, if we only understood the nature of a marriage in the Lord. Two people enter into a bond in God and they are blessed. The husband will be able to bless his wife from then on. He will be amazed at what is in his hands. He is in a place of authority. Satan recognizes this matter of authority. He recognizes the force of bonds and the force of submission to anyone who is out of the will of God or serving Satan.
The Lord says, “All authority is given to Me in heaven and in earth. You go and make disciples of all the nations.” This is not a commission to educate or to train and teach them. He is saying, “Make disciples of them, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
When we are commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ, Authority rests upon us and when we speak our words are filled with His Spirit and impart into the one who has ears to hear, the Spirit of God in that word so that it reproduces Christ in them, and then they are able to walk in it.
We are not teaching people, we are imparting the Word into their spirit, the D.N.A of God into their spirit so that they can live by that word. We are to live by every word that proceeds from the Mouth of God. When the authority of God rests upon us, we become His mouth.
Jesus says my word are spirit and life, and when we impart the word, if the hearer has ears to hear, he who has ears to hear, let him hear, That word lights up their spirit and as they walk in it, it is engrafted into their soul, it is written on their heart.
One word from God will change your life forever!
Jesus said, “All authority is Mine, therefore as you go, you are under authority.” In the realm of spirit, authority is most important.
If you understood this, you would recognize that one of the most important things you can do is to come under the authority of Jesus Christ and break every bond which would hinder you.
Believe for every bond of ungodliness and of evil to be broken, completely and irrevocably, because wherever a bond exists, it comes back to trouble you. Satan cannot counteract you any other way. He cannot steal and destroy you, unless he gets an open door by any bond that you have.
In marriage, two people make a bond together. They may not know it, but they will begin to feel alike, to think alike, and to think one another’s thoughts. They will laugh and giggle when they realize that both have said the same thing at the same time, because the same thoughts were in their minds. That bond begins to bring them together closer and closer. One has a thought and the other reacts.
What is the Body of Christ but a mystical organism composed of many members who are brought closely together by the authority of Christ to which they have submitted. They are bonded to the Lord and bonded to one another.
That principle becomes the strength of the Body of Christ. We could enter into this Body relationship much faster if we recognized that the weakest member can draw on the strength of the strongest and that those who are strong ought to bear another’s infirmities. We are members of one another. We bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. This continues on and on.
The commission in Matthew speaks about authority: “You go and make disciples of them.” The other commission in Mark 16:15–16 talks about something else:
…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
This speaks about salvation, a simple matter of believing or not believing.
But Matthew is talking about something else. We are going to build the Kingdom.
Mark 16 is talking about building the church, which is easy: you believe and you are saved.
But Matthew is talking about building the Kingdom, and in this we are to be made into disciples.
There is a difference between a believer and a disciple. A disciple is one who wholly follows the Lord, and because of this, all authority in heaven and earth is there to help him.
Get rid of everything that gets to you from any source whatsoever, and begin to make a bond with the people of the Lord.
Take your walls down between one another. Come and let the elders minister to you. Because they are representatives of the authority of the Lord, every time they lay hands on you and bless you, you will be bonded to the whole Body that much more.
Accept ministry submissively, not because someone is trying to control you or bring you into a place of submission, but because we are bringing you all into a place of unity, a place of oneness as disciples, so you will be able to move under that authority.
I am very much in favor of our relearning the concept of the wives’ submission to their husbands in the Lord. Let us understand the fact that submission is one thing and suppression is entirely different.
We are not to suppress these women, but as they come into a submission, it releases them to move out in an Authority and flow greater than women have moved in for two thousand years. They move in authority to loose and authority to bind, in authority to bless the children and to do many things in the name of the Lord.
I have noticed that whenever a woman goes through a period of rebellion, she is soon saying, “I can’t do a thing with my children. Pray for them.” I feel like saying, “Listen, little sister, if you had not been rebellious, you wouldn’t be going through this. You would be moving in authority if you had been moving in submission.” The more submissive you are, the more authority you move in. I anticipate moving in more authority than I ever have in my life. Why? Because I am coming into a greater submission to the Lord, not my will but yours be done 24 hours a day. Because He is working the submission to Him in my own heart, I know His authority will flow through me. It always works that way.
Now we are going to preach the Kingdom and make disciples of all nations, by bringing men and women to complete submission in the name of the Lord. Do you want to be a real disciple? Do you want to really follow the Lord in everything He wants? Your submission begins there, but being submissive as a disciple is only the basis.
A disciple moves in authority. Jesus said to His disciples. “You are to make disciples.” What was the principle of sending the disciples forth in the first place? Jesus said “All authority is Mine in heaven and earth; I have it all!” He did not say, “All power is Mine,” because the world is not all under the Lord; a great part of it still lies under the power of the wicked one.
We are constantly coming against principalities and powers, against rebel forces. The Scripture says, “The whole world lies under the power of the wicked one” (I John 5:19). And yet it has all been transferred to the Lord with a deep sense of authority. God gave Him a name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:11). We accept that position of authority.
When I go out in Jesus’ name, what can I do? I can cast out devils. Because I have such power? No, because I have authority behind me, because I am submissive to the authority of Jesus, because I am a disciple who is obedient to what He says, and I follow Him. I do what He wants me to do. The more submissive I am, the more authority rests upon me and the more authority will flow through me. And the same is true for you.
For when the Lord would work through a ministry, He first works a submission in them, in all areas of their lives, those areas in their soul that are not under submission to the Lordship of Jesus over his spirit, in order that the life of God may be worked in those to whom they minister, even as Paul describes it in II Corinthians 4:10–12.
In authority we shall move to make disciples of all nations. From this time forward we will move in the deep obedience that God has wrought within us. Nations will change! Because of a little handful of people? Yes, because we are submissive to the Lord and to His great authority, for God is not limited to save by many or to save by few.
May God bless this word to your spirit and heart!
