Awareness of His Presence

Our Spirit is the part of us that is conscious of God. We must become aware of our spirit. When we are aware of our spirit,  then we become aware of the presence of God that is with us in the natural realm that we live in.

But we must first realize that becoming friends with an invisible spirit is only possible when we enter the spiritual realm of His kingdom.

When we were born from above we have been given the ability to see (which starts out as perceiving with our spirit, then seeing with the soul-the screen of our mind) and then entering into the spiritual realm of His Kingdom which is in a different dimension.

Our spirit has eyes that can see, but our soul also has eyes that can see. This sense of our soul is called the imagination-the screen of our mind.

The thoughts of God flow into our mind as spontaneous thoughts, the feelings of God flow into our emotion, and God also communicates to us in pictures or seeing in our imagination-the screen of our mind.

The senses of our soul are mind, reason, imagination, emotion, conscience, will and choice.

Our soul must become aware of what our spirit is sensing. Our soul is the switchboard of what our spirit senses and what our body senses.

In the natural a switch board is a control panel (a manually operated device for interconnecting telephone lines and routing telephone calls).

In the spiritual the switch board is our soul which connects to the senses of our spirit to receive communication from God and then routing (directing) that into action. Our spirit perceives and then our soul becomes the switch board. That part of our being which receives the communication of God so that we can walk in what God is saying to us.

John 3:  3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born (an action that happened in the past subject to a condition of receiving the word of God-seed, not continuous,to be begotten, that which is conceived) again (ánōthen; from ánō- above-referring to the spirit realm) he cannot  see (specific point in time, sudden climatic experience, to encounter, participate in) the kingdom of God 4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into  the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born (the spiritual state brought about by the finished results of the action-offspring) of the Spirit is spirit

That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. When we are born of the Spirit, our spirit becomes conscious of God’ Spirit, the spiritual state of being aware of His presence. The eyes of our spirit are open and we can perceive the reality of the unseen realm.

Once we can see the kingdom then we can enter into it. Entering into this realm starts with developing awareness – awareness of His presence.

After the fall of Adam, the first thing that changed was the relationship Adam had with God: he hid from the presence of the Lord.

GENESIS 3:8 and made themselves aprons (coverings) And they heard (attention) the voice (sound) of the LORD God walking (movement) in the garden (enclosure) in the cool (spirit) of the day (root-to be hot-consuming fire): and Adam and his wife hid (concealed-to keep someone out of sight) themselves from the presence of the LORD (YHWH) God amongst the trees (root- to close the eyes) of the garden (enclosure).

They heard God walking in the spirit realm; they were aware of his presence, but they tried to keep God out of sight. They fell from the spirit realm into the natural realm. They lost their walk with God in the realm of spirit.

They heard the voice of God and hid from his presence. His Voice comes out of His Presence.

So often we seek the will of God or seek to hear His voice but we must realize that we can only hear His voice when we are in His presence.

We need to learn how to wait on the Lord. We must wait for His presence to be manifest to hear His voice. We must cultivate the closeness and reality of His presence, in order to walk with the Lord.

We need to learn the secret of turning to and conversing with the Lord in all matters of our daily life.

To hear His voice, to feel His emotions, is part of the relationship that God wants us to have.

To have this relationship, we need to be aware of his presence all the time. We tend to live our life without an awareness of his presence most of the time.

There is a deep presence that we can become aware of by turning our heart to him in love and worship. When we become aware of his presence we need to learn how to draw on it, to drink of his presence, we do not ignore it but focus upon the Lord. When we lose our focus we need to turn our affections and heart back towards him.

When we learn how to seek him with all our heart we will find him, once we become aware of the presence we need to learn how to abide in it.

It is in our awareness of the Lord that we begin to hear his voice and begin to walk with him.
