BECOMING LOVE

To become love, we first must experience God’s love for us.

1 john 4:17Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

Because as He is, so are we in this world-that is becoming love. John was the Apostle of Love. He had the closest relationship with the Lord of all His disciples. Some say he never died. But I believe he grew to be very old, where they had to carry him into the places where he taught and preached the Word.

God is placing an emphasis in this day on his epistles and his gospel. He lived what he taught, and he experienced what is called first love. https://glorytogodministries.site/blog/restoring-first-love/

When God is our first love, we experience what is called being lovesick.

Song of Solomon 5:8      I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if you find my beloved, that you tell him I am lovesick!

When you love Him that much you are willing to follow Him anywhere, He leads. You are willing to do anything for Him.

What a privilege – learning to love, the most precious and summation of His laws.

But how do we know it is His love, until it is tested? How do we know it is gold, until it is tested in the flames of adversity.

These flames come to burn at the soulish unrefined places of our being.

These flames are often launched from those closest to us. Family members. Both natural and spiritual.

Family is a huge lesson in perfecting love. Their wounds cut the deepest because they come from the closest range, carrying the longest memories and the highest expectations.

However, these give us the greatest opportunities to identify with the purity of Jesus’ love.
