Blow up the dams

There are things in our soul that hinder the flow of God in our lives. Things that we may be struggling with can dam up the flow of God’s life in us.

Out of our spirit shall flow rivers of living water, rivers of life, but first we must blow up the dams.

There are things in our soul life that block the flow of the Spirit. We need to know the functions of our soul, the things in it that block the flow of the Spirit, and then we need to be aware of what the opposite spirit is that we need to start moving in, tune into it and practice it until it becomes a way of life.

We need to get to the root of the problem,  stick some dynamite around the root of the tree and blow it up. Lay a few sticks of dynamite at the base of the dam and blow it up!

Acts 1: 8But ye shall receive (to actively take) power (dúnamis, we get the English word dynamite from it), after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

When Jesus said this, he was taken up out of their sight, into the cloud of witnesses.

We must blow up the dams that keep us earthbound. Those things that keep us tied to this world.

And we can only do this through the power of the Holy Spirit.

God has a great reservoir of blessing ready to pour out upon this generation that loves Him. All we have to do is get rid of those dams, get rid of those limitations, the things that are holding us back.

We all have them. They are the things that hold us captive, or they may be fears, doubts, limitations in our thinking, and something that comes up from someplace in the subconscious.

We look at it and say, “I thought I was free of that. We need to repent of it deeply, with all of our heart. That is the way dams are broken up.

Mark 9 43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched. 44where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ 45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched. 46where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ 47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire—48 where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ 49 “For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt. 50 Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves and have peace with one another.”

We may be perfectly sound to live on the human plane, but find that in our effort to reach into the Kingdom of God, to reach into the heavenly realm, we have within us an offense, a limitation, a restriction, or a dam so great that all the wondrous blessings of God can never come through to our life.

Col 3: Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.

We are to mortify our members which are upon the earth, speaking of the works of the flesh, summed up in the word idolatry-idol worship, anything that takes Gods place in our heart.

In the parable about the marriage supper (Luke 14:16–24), the Lord spoke of the people who were bidden. They were naturally good people, but they refused to come. One said, “I’ve bought a piece of land and have to go see it.” That sounds legitimate enough. Another said, “I’ve bought five yokes of oxen and must go prove them.” Another said, “I’ve married a wife, and I cannot come.”

The man who made the supper was angry, and sent his servants out, “Go and find the lame, the crippled, the poor, and the blind, and bid them to come in.”

We are the lame, the crippled, the poor and the blind.

If we want the blessing of the Lord that is flowing to this generation, then we must dynamite those dams! Whatever it is that is blocking the fullness of God in our lives.

The limitations upon us are largely of our own doing.  We must cut off that hand if it offends us. Cut off that foot if it causes us to stumble. Pluck out that eye. This is referring to the gates or the doors of our body, the things that we look at, the things that we touch, and the places that we go. The body has five primary gateways: 1- Touch 2- Taste 3 -Smell 4- Sight 5- Hearing.

Romans 12: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

This is what God is requiring of this generation, we must wholly give ourselves unto the Lord.

God told Abraham (Genesis 17:1–14) to follow Him, and He would show him a place he was going to inherit. Then God gave him the rite of circumcision: “I want you to take a knife and circumcise all the males.” What was the reason for it? It represented a cutting off.

Today God wants to work a circumcision of heart. Then the Spirit of the Lord can break forth upon us like a flood. Then the anointing of the Lord can come upon us like the rain, and God’s will, His purpose, and our function in the kingdom, can come to us.

We must dynamite down everything that stands in the way. To make sure that nothing prevents us from doing the perfect will of God. We start with the dams within our own being. With the limitations we have made, the restrictions we have made, the things within our own thinking and goals and desires that are contrary to God. We Lay them on the altar, to see them burned with fire, “Not my will, but Thine be done.

We are transformed from the inside out. The Lord quickens our spirit and then as we open our spirit to the Lord, the life and power of God flow in. Then through the power of the Holy Spirit we mortify our members (the parts of the body) which are upon the earth. This is the blowing up of the dams, which hinders the outpouring of the Spirit upon our life.

We have to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, and then and only then, can our soul be transformed. And this requires the power of the Spirit in our lives. It is a deliberate act of our will. Our will is cold-blooded; it is not something we naturally feel like doing. We just do it.

But when we see these things as dams, which are restricting us from heavenly encounters, for the joy set before us we can endure the cross.

When our life upon this earth is a reflection of heaven, then the God of all glory can tabernacle with us. Then God can live in not only our spirit, but also our soul and body. Then the veil between heaven and earth can be removed experientially in our life.

Then we can be taken up in the Spirit literally.

Blow up your dams!
