Bondservant relationship

When a servant chose to become a Bond Servant a whole new commitment and set of requirements were required.

If we are to hear clearly the voice of God, we must settle in our hearts that we will obey Him from our heart.

The Servant: He got wages, He could spend it as he so desired .He got days off and could do on them whatever he wanted. He could marry whomever he chose.

The Bond Servant: Has no days off, he Does not get paid, has no money of his own. He cannot own anything; he has only what the master gives him. He has no rights, Marries only who the master chooses. He must obey without question at all times

But the Bond Servant has Privileges: His master pledges to look after him. He will provide everything he needs. He will protect him with his life! A Bond Servant was given much responsibility.

Genesis 24:2 And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:

Genesis 24:10 And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master [were] in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.

He ruled over all of Abrams house. All of Abrams goods were in his hand.

He was almost a joint heir with Abram. But the bondservant of the lord becomes a joint heir with Jesus Christ.

This is the kind of relationship that Jesus wants with us. But first: We have to become a Bond Servant.

THE PIERCING OF THE EAR-This signified that this servant had an ear only for the master.

Jesus had this relationship with His Father-Isaiah 50:4   The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens me morning by morning; He awakens my ear to listen as a disciple.

Philippians 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, (Bond Servant) and was made in the likeness of men:

If we are to be able to clearly hear the voice of the Lord, this bond servant commitment is first required of us.
