Carriers of God’s glory

As Christians we are called to carry God’s glory; this is the major purpose for our lives.

Isaiah, chapter 60 tells us that this will be realised in this generation like never before.

ISAIAH 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen (to shine forth; to break out. It refers to the rising or shining of the sun) upon thee.

This happens as our spirit grows and expands where it is bigger than our body and becomes the secret place in which we live.

We were created to be an extension of God on earth. Because we are the sons of God, we are the same species as God. Like begets like, and God gave birth to sons. We came from His loins; we are His children. We are called to manifest God in this world.

Our first and primary destiny is to become like Jesus. Jesus is “the express image of God” (Hebrews 1:3). He is the forerunner and example to all who would follow Him.

We need to understand that our prime calling is to become like Jesus and to manifest Him in this world.

Your second call is to find out how God would have you do this We cannot fulfil the secondary calling until there is at least some tangible evidence that the first call is beginning to take shape within us. We must not get the order wrong.

The primary and the secondary callings are in that order for good reason: we can only impart what we are. We are called to manifest Jesus to this world and there is a particular way that we are called to do this.

For some, the secondary call may be to take care of the poor and the lonely.

Some may be called to take care of the aged and the incapacitated.

Some are called to work with young people.

Some are called to be evangelists.

Others are called to be nurses or doctors; many are called to raise godly children — a high calling in God.

Whatever your secondary calling, it incorporates manifesting Jesus. There are many ways in which we can demonstrate Jesus to this world.

The mandate for our secondary calling is found in Luke 4:18.

LUKE 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

The call is to go into your world and preach the gospel. Often, if not mostly, this is done by being light in your sphere of influence, whatever that is and where God has placed you. You are there to carry and manifest Jesus.

MATTHEW 5:14-16 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may  see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

This light must embody good works. These good works are not done within the four walls of the church; they are kingdom attributes manifested to the world.

We have mostly left these functions to our governments (with their humanistic psychologists and their doctrine of political correctness that borders on insanity) to do the work that God’s people are supposed to do.

This is where the Kingdom of God is meant to function —out in the community among the day-care centers, drug rehabilitation units, pregnant teen agencies, care homes for the aged, and so on.

We are called to be light, truth, compassion and healing in our communities.

It is the work of the five-fold ministries to train God’s people to minister out in the communities where they live.
