We are learning to walk with God in our destiny.
The provision needed to fulfill our destiny is deposited in the heavenlies, ready for us to appropriate.
II Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before time began,
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ:
Everything you need to fulfill your destiny has already been set aside for you, and I will show you how to lay hold of it.
You will come alive whenever that destiny begins to awaken.
Sometimes you are just talking with someone and you come alive. That is because you have touched in conversation on your destiny, the programming in your spirit.
Learning to come to know that destiny and cooperate with it is an aspect of learning to walk with God.
We have looked at the importance of relating to God through knowing His voice in your heart in spontaneous thought. https://glorytogodministries.site/blog/the-mind-working-with-the-spirit/
We have looked at feeling God’s emotion’s, a communication of God to us.
We have looked at relating to God with visionary ability, the eyes of the heart. https://glorytogodministries.site/blog/the-language-of-vision/
Ephesians 1:18 The eyes of your imagination being lighted with pictures; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
This is a result of stilling the mind, where the brain waves slow down and we enter a state of almost dreaming but we are still awake.
And there are many incidents in Scripture where God spoke with an audible voice or through Angels audibly. We will deal with this in another message.
Today we are going to look at an important way that God works with us in helping us fulfill and know our destiny, we call this providential guidance.
Providential Guidance – Providential- Divine foresight with Intervention.
Is God in control of everything. The answer to this is yes and no. He is in command but not necessarily in control of the things that happen in this world.
God is in control of your life if you allow Him to be. God will not override your gift of free will.
Predestination Definition: God’s appointment from eternity. To determine beforehand. Greek: proorizo Predetermine. Mark out a boundary.
Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among
When your spirit came from heaven at the point of conception, it came from heaven programmed with your destiny, your purpose in life.
This Scripture tells us that you were given a purpose before the world began, back in eternity. You came to earth with an assignment to fulfill.
To be conformed to the Image of Jesus Christ, and the living works, prepared for you to walk in, being part of the government of God, being a king and a priest.
PROVIDENTIAL GUIDANCE
If you are going to walk with God, you will need to understand and recognize providential guidance.
You were born with a destiny in your spirit
When your life is dedicated to the Lord and your will is set to do the will of God, then providential Guidance becomes operative and also before this because the Lord foreknows is we will walk with Him, and those He foreknows he protects and watches over their life circumstances.
Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
God is able to see the beginning from the end. He knows the choices we will make throughout our life; He knows this in advance.
Because of this foreknowledge He can map out a course for us that is part of the purpose given us before the world or time began.
Because of our commitment to do His will, God will cause events, appointments, and boundaries, to come into play in our lives sovereignly without our manipulation.
Much of God’s guiding intervention in our lives involves providential guidance, therefore we must learn to recognize it and work with it.
Your life’s course was planned out for you before you were born. It was seeded in your spirit.
II Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Providential guidance begins before you are born again and continues on after. However once you are born again you become responsible to work with godly principles that will facilitate, bring to the fore that which God has for you.
One of the best examples of this is found in the story of Ruth.
Ruth was a Moabite with no inheritance within God’s dealings with Israel, however she became the great grandmother of David and a direct descendant in the line of Christ
The chances of Ruth a Moabite being accepted in Israel was very slim let alone marrying a Noble in the land and rising to a place of prominence in the History of Israel.
How did this come about?
1) Commitment
Ruth 1:16 And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, [or] to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people [shall be] my people, and thy God my God:
This choice would determine the rest of her life. It was a turning point choice.
Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge (consult) him, and he shall direct thy paths.
The seeds of destiny are in your spirit
The key to understanding predestination is the word, foreknow.
We call this divine intervention, Providential Guidance.
There is no record in the book of Ruth of God speaking directly to the people involved in this story. Providential guidance is the only form of guidance portrayed in this book.
When Ruth left Moab she made a commitment that would start a series of providential events in her life. These events would steer her onto a pathway leading to her destiny.
This unreserved commitment to God is a pre-requisite for any form of guidance from God in our lives.
Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me thine heart,( THEN) and let thine eyes observe my ways.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
These Scriptures show us the tremendous importance of a commitment to God.
Ruth made this commitment and it triggered a series of providential interventions in her life that would cause her destiny in God to begin to unfold.
2) God’s Response
Ruth 2:12 The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.
Ruth put herself into the hands of God. God responded by saying, “you will be rewarded for this”.
Rewards don’t just come on a happenstance basis Psalms 19:11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: [and] in keeping of them [there is] great reward.
Mark 9:41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Ruth did not immediately see the fulfilment of God’s promised blessing. Things got rough for her for a while, however, she maintained her stance in God. There was still no conscious evidence that God was guiding her.
3) The Pathway of Duty
Ruth 2:2 And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after [him] in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.
In the pathway of duty, normal everyday responsibilities, God began to arrange things for her. We must not wait passively for God to drop things into our lap. We must put our heart and soul into doing that, which is at hand. Ruth was industrious.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might;
Ecclesiastes 10:18 By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.
Faithfulness is a very important attribute and is necessary if you are to move on into your destiny.
I Timothy 1:12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
Be Faithful in where you are NOW.
Genesis 24:27 And he said, Blessed [be] the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I [being] in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master’s brethren.
I being “in the way” The Lord led me- To walk a pathway.
The word way in Hebrew is Derek: A masculine noun meaning path, journey, way
Abram’s servant was looking for a wife for Isaac.
The set of your heart will determine the course of your life.
Your commitment to God, the set of your heart determines your course
When there is no conscious guidance just go on with your life trusting God and being available to Him, Above all being faithful to God and people.
He came to a well to water his camels and God had arranged for the right people to be there at the right time. Rebecca just happened to be at the well at that time.
The chances of that happening are over a million to one.
Coincidence, Luck, Chance? NO Providential guidance.
4) Recognition
Ruth 2:5 Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose damsel [is] this?
Things were now beginning to come together for her.
5) Destiny Realized
Ruth 4:13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.
Ruth 4:16 And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.
Ruth 4:17 And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he [is] the father of Jesse, the father of David.
When these divine encounter’s happen you must recognize them. There is a special feel when you realize these sovereign divine appointments are happening. There is a sense that these are God’s appointments for you.
You must then cooperate with the circumstances.
Faithfulness is an absolute if providential giudance is to continue in your life
Boaz began to recognize her. God had arranged that Ruth would be in the right field at the right time. Boaz noticed her, It happened when she was in the normal pathway of duty.
