Dark speeches

Numbers 12:6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, [I] the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, [and] will speak unto him in a dream.7 My servant Moses [is] not so, who [is] faithful in all mine house.8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

Moses received God’s Word directly and plainly, not through dreams, visions, parables, or dark sayings.

Mosesbeheld the similitude of the Lord, in Hebrew the word is: temunah, something portioned out, as a shape, embodiment, a physical form

God and Moses actually saw each other and spoke face to face with audible voices. He is a person with a personal spirit body, a personal soul, and a personal spirit, like that of angels, and like that of man except His body is of spirit substance instead of flesh and bones.

Dark Speeches in Hebrew is: chiydah, A puzzle, Proverb, riddle.

Sometimes the Lord will speak to you this way.

The parables of the Kingdom in Matthew 13; are good examples of this. Each parable has a spiritual truth to it, but these parables are also prophetic and speak of seven church ages, which were to unfold throughout the ages.

Often parables have a double meaning. The surface meaning which is usually devotional and a prophetic meaning.

Proverbs 25:2 [It is] the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings [is] to search out a matter.

God spoke to Pharaoh by using 10 plagues. Each plague was directed at one of the God’s of Egypt, and was a direct message to Pharaoh that the God of the Hebrews was the one true God.

God can give us signs that are a puzzle to us and often we miss them altogether. The Old Testament prophets where not aware of the full meaning of their prophesies. They thought that their prophecies were eminent, for their time. While this was true, the main importance was for us in the end-times.

Failure to understand this leads to miss interpretation of Scripture.

Moses saw the Similitude of the Lord Hebrew: temuwnah Meaning: Shape, Phantom, Embodiment The Hebrew does not suggest a clear precise image, but more of a form.

Job 4:16 It stood still, but I could not discern the form (similitude) thereof: an image [was] before mine eyes, [there was] silence and I heard a voice, [saying],

Genesis 12:7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram,

Exodus 3:16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me,

I Kings 3:5 In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream

I Kings 9:2 That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.

Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me,

Acts 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, [even] Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest,

We have many instances in the bible where God appeared to people.

We see from these Scriptures that the Lord appeared to people, they saw His similitude and He talked with them.

The Lord through the Holy Spirit speaks to us in spontaneous thought. But God will also speak to us in a riddle, a dark saying.

We also need to be aware that the Lord can and will speak to us direct. This is different than spontaneous thought. It is the direct voice of the Lord and is external. You hear this with your ears or in the spirit. It is a distinct voice.

You may ask; what does this sound like. It sounds like a voice but not like your own thoughts.

You have to get to know His voice. How do you know the voice of your friend? You know it because you have heard it often enough to know it. It is the same with the Lord.

Angels also can speak to you this way.

When we talk to the Lord face to face we are seeing the Similitude of the Lord. These kind of appearances can be just in the form of light with a faint awareness of a form or they can be very clear.
