Destiny Identity 3 – Orphan Spirit

Corporate inheritance of the church and, Joshua Generation.

Individual inheritance.

Destiny, birthright, calling purpose.

Redemptive gift – designed to fulfil Identity – Sonship

Journey from slavery, from childhood and infancy, to the maturity of sonship.

Rom 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

It is my destiny to be His son.

Do I feel, think, act like a son?

Who am I? – my identity?

Son of God – loved, accepted, affirmed by my heavenly Father.

Our earthly relationship (or not) with our father can be a major stumbling block and obstacle to truly knowing who we are.

God wants to embrace us and reveal himself to us as Father.

We need to be willing to allow Him to heal our father’s wounds.

1 Cor 10:11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

Journey from slavery to sonship.

Journey of restoration of their inheritance and destiny.

The journey is from slavery mentality to a mentality of royalty with identity as sons of the King.

Slaves own nothing.

Slaves live in survival mode.

Slaves have no hope.

slaves have no expectations.

Slaves have a poverty mentality.

Spirit of slavery or an orphan heart or spirit – poverty mindset or thinking.

Lack of trust and relationship.

Knew God’s works but not His ways so they didn’t or couldn’t trust Him.

They were motivated by fear, at Red Sea, mountain, desert.

Obstacles – no water, no food etc.

Moses had a destiny.

Enemy tried to destroy that destiny.

Moses tried to fulfil his destiny independently from God.

Moses tried to use his own natural strength and resources.

Moses is rejected.

Moses runs and hides from his destiny.

Act 7:23 But when he was approaching the age of forty, it entered his mind to visit his brethren, the sons of Israel. 24 And when he saw one of them being treated unjustly, he defended him and took vengeance for the oppressed by striking down the Egyptian.  25 And he supposed that his brethren understood that God was granting them deliverance through him, but they did not understand.

Act 7:26 On the following day he appeared to them as they were fighting together, and he tried to reconcile them in peace, saying, ‘Men, you are brethren, why do you injure one another?’ 27 But the one who was injuring his neighbor pushed him away, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and judge over us? 28 You do not mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday, do you?’ 29 At this remark, Moses fled.

Act 7:30 “After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning thorn bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he marveled at the sight; and as he approached to look more closely, there came the voice of the Lord: 32 ‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.’ Moses shook with fear and would not venture to look.

Moses was an orphan adopted by Egypt enemy world system – Prince.

Moses had a destiny but tried to do things his own way.

Moses runs from his destiny in the wilderness.

Wilderness prepares Moses for his future.

God calls Moses to his destiny again.

Moses’ natural identity – shepherd.

Meets God at the burning bush.

Moses is given a new supernatural shepherd identity.

Moses’ destiny restored.

Moses’ identity is given to him by God.

Moses had issues from his past.

Moses’ staff was the symbol of his identity as a shepherd.

Moses’ staff represented his natural abilities – ‘by hook or by crook.’

Moses’ staff represented his financial welfare, his job, wellbeing, future.

Laid down his natural staff and picked up the supernatural rod of God.

Ex 3:11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?”

Moses tries to reject his destiny.

Moses tries to criticize God’s HR skills.

Moses has issues.

Ex 4:10 Then Moses said to the Lord, “Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

Ex 4:12 Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say.” 13 But he said, “Please, Lord, now send the message by whomever You will.”

Moses had issues.

Act 7:35 “This Moses whom they disowned, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ is the one whom God sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the help of the angel who appeared to him in the thorn bush. 36 This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years.

Num 14:2 All the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron; and the whole congregation said to them, “Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness! 3 Why is the Lord bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will become plunder; would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?” 4 So they said to one another, “Let us appoint a leader and return to Egypt.”

The people continually rejected Moses’s authority, grumbled and complained.

Moses allowed his issues of insecurity, needing the acceptance and approval of the people to rob him of his full destiny.

People had issues.

Num 13:31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us.” 32 So they gave out to the sons of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out.

What identity were they acting out of- slaves or sons?

They saw their home as Egypt, not the promised land.

They were acting like orphans not sons.

Slavery orphan mentality will stop us possessing our inheritance and destiny.

Are you looking to the past or the future?

Moses had insecurity issues.

Moses had identity issues.

Moses had an orphan spirit.

Moses led a people who:

had identity issues.

operated in an orphan spirit.

had a slavery mentality.

Mal 4:6 He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.”

Act 7:39 Our fathers were unwilling to be obedient to him, but repudiated him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt.

Generations of slaves.

No understanding of freedom.

No experience of godly leadership.

No connection to God as a Father.

Lost sight of covenant family identity – Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Continually looked back to the familiar comfort of the old life.

No sense of belonging.

No sense of heritage.

No sense of purpose.

Had riches but no wealth.

No loyalty.

No faith or trust in God.

All died in wilderness, including Moses, except Joshua and Caleb.

Do I have an orphan spirit?

Orphans have no parents.

Orphans have no inheritance.

Orphans have no home.

Orphans have no connection to heritage.

Orphans think like slaves.

Do I think like a son or a slave?

Do I act like a son or a slave?

Do I identify with slavery or sonship?

Do I know my identity as a son?

Do I know my royal identity as a son of the King?

God wants to heal your father/mother wounds.

God wants you to have a home in Him.

God wants you to know you are adopted, accepted, loved.

God wants you to know and fulfil your destiny.

Will you allow God to be your Father?

Will you trust Him with your heart?

Will you allow him to deliver you from an orphan spirit?

Will you lay down your old natural identity?

Will you pick up your new supernatural identity?

I choose to lay down my old identity as an orphan and slave.

I choose to turn away from my past.

I choose to forgive and release my earthly father for not representing true fatherhood to me.

I choose to look to my heavenly Father for my acceptance.

I choose to let go of rejection, fear and insecurity.

I choose to embrace my destiny.

I choose to give my heart to You Father afresh today.

I choose to allow you to heal, deliver and restore me.

In authority I loose them from an orphan spirit and a spirit of slavery and a spirit of rejection.

I bind them to their full destinies in heaven and on earth as sons of God.

See with the eyes of your heart, father/mother wounds scars.

Hear the voice of Father God – I love you my child – I love, I love.

I accept you as my child.

I affirm who you truly are.

I call out your spiritual identity as my sons.

I invest in you with the authority as princes and princesses to subdue, rule and manifest My kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
