Math 7: 15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening (greedy for power, gain, self) wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt ( comes from a word that means to rot-of a bad quality. Changed from a state of uprightness, correctness, truth, etc., to a worse state) tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know (the state of being aware, or realizing something) them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter (future tense, to go into) into (motion into) the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth (continuous action) the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew (action that happens at a specific point- personal fellowship) you: depart from me, ye that work (two words 1- definite article-the)(2- continuous action-labor, to trade, traffic, do business) iniquity “lawlessness” (literally, “without law”) .
This passage of scripture comes at the end of the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus concludes with saying that if anyone hears these sayings of mine and does them builds there house on the rock and when the testing comes their house stands.
Those who heard these sayings, were astonished at his teaching because he taught them as one having authority. During the sermon he said, you have heard it said to those of old, but I say unto you.
Jesus expounded upon the law which was a marriage contract between God and his people. It was never about keeping outward laws to establish one’s own righteousness, but a revelation of the heart of God, that he wanted to marry us, and this was his side of the marriage contract.
As the revelation of the Holy Spirit exposes the condition of our heart, of the fallen nature of the human race, we become poor in spirit, sensing our unworthiness to enter into marriage with a holy God.
Then towards the end of the sermon Jesus warns us about false prophets that come to us in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are self-seeking. They are building their own personal kingdom. They are building a name for themselves, and they are taking advantage of baby Christians for their own personal gain. They are in reality robbing God and his people; the money being put into the work of God is not being used to advance the kingdom of God, but is being used to fulfill their own personal desires.
This is why we should never put our money into the anointing, but into the fruit. A false Sheppard will not lay down his life for the sheep; there is no deep fruit of the Spirit manifest in their lives, they are self-centered and not God-centered.
Most false prophets at one time were true prophets, like Balaam. In order to understand this we need to meditate upon the parable of the sower. If we can understand this parable we can understand all parables.
To understand salvation we need to understand spirit, soul and body. We need to understand spirit-life and soul-life. If we focus on our soul-life we may never feel saved.
Until we begin to grow spiritually and come to know the lord intimately we are not going to understand the bible. If we just read the word, without the Holy Spirit revealing it to us we are going to be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. People who argue about doctrine do not yet really know the lord; they are still living in their mind. They do not know experientially the difference between their soul and their spirit.
On the surface the bible teaches once saved afterwards destroyed. When the disciples were listening to Jesus’s teaching, they asked him, who then can be saved? And Jesus said- with men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Jude 1: 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved (definiteness of action, to save, to rescue from danger or destruction)the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward (the second time) destroyed them that believed (definiteness of action, to be persuaded of) not (conditional negative).
All doctrines have some truth in them. Is salvation conditional-yes. Is it possible to lose your salvation-yes. Is once saved always saved scriptural ? yes. Well which is it?- both.
Salvation is of God from start to finish. It is all about the D.N.A. of God. God imparts himself through his living word. The living word is the incorruptible seed of God.
Our spirit is like a womb in which the word of God is planted. The entrance of his word into our spirit gives light. This is called the conception of the word, once for all enlightened. Our spirit comes alive to God and is an instantaneous experience. Our spirit is like a baby and is dependent upon God’s Spirit for its growth and development. Our spirit has to stay connected to the flow of eternal life that is in the word in order for it to grow and develop.
When our spirit becomes alive to God it is immature, and God gives gifts us the gifts of the Spirit in our immaturity. This is why new born Christians can prophesy and cast out devils and heal the sick. This is why we do not put our money into the anointing. Unless the love of money is dealt with in a spiritual baby, they will go off the path, because they hold on to their soul-life and end up losing it.
Once our spirit is alive to God we have to open it up to God on a daily basis, so that his eternal life flows into it causing it to grow and develop. Then we have to surrender our soul, to the Lordship of Jesus over our spirit, so that the areas of our soul (self life) die that are independent of God. His life then begins to flow into our soul transforming it.
The life of God flows into our spirit expanding it; it transforms our soul and has the potential of reversing the death process in our body. It is all about the D.N.A. penetrating every area of our being.
Luke8: 12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away (remove) the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved (made whole, preserve safe from danger, loss, destruction).
There are four types of hearts-only one kind of heart will allow the incorruptible seed of God to produce a full grown son of God!
False prophets are those who are trading on Satan’s trading floor, the love of God has not been perfected in their lives. A true Sheppard lays down his life for the sheep, they no longer have a life of their own, they are moved with compassion, there is no personal sacrifice they are not willing to make to care and tend for the sheep. Jesus said do you love me? Feed my sheep!
