Fellowship with His Son

Recently the Fellowship with His Son has become more real to me. Jesus has been visiting me and it is resulting in me falling in love with Him all over again.

I have a secret place in my spirit that I can enter into any time, and He is there. I don’t have to be having a devotional time as such.

He reveals Himself as King, ruler over principalities and powers, friend, and as the One who called me into the ministry.

Fellowship of the Gospel is the first relational step in our walk with God.

And after that comes Fellowship with Holy Spirit. The purpose of the fellowship with the Holy Spirit is to reveal more of Jesus to us.

Fellowship of His Son is, therefore, the third fellowship with God.

We are Called into Fellowship with Jesus Christ, His Son. We Enter this Fellowship through the Father

1 CORINTHIANS 1:9 GOD IS FAITHFUL, BY WHOM YOU WERE CALLED INTO THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

Therefore, we see that the Father welcomes us into this Fellowship with His Son. The Father calling us into fellowship with Jesus is like an arranged marriage in some cultures, where the Father agrees to the partner for His Son.

We have been Chosen to Marry Jesus

At the end of time, Jesus is going to marry us through the glorified body! Yes, we are now the Bride of Christ spiritually, so He longs for relationship with us today.

REVELATION 22:17 AND THE SPIRIT AND THE BRIDE SAY, “COME!” LET HIM WHO HEARS SAY, “COME!” AND LET HIM WHO THIRSTS COME. WHOEVER DESIRES, LET HIM TAKE THE WATER OF LIFE FREELY.

We are one with Jesus, as we continually join our spirit to His. Our unity with Jesus is similar to the harmony between Father God and the Son.

JOHN 17:22-23 AND THE GLORY WHICH YOU GAVE ME I HAVE GIVEN THEM, THAT THEY MAY BE ONE JUST AS WE ARE ONE: I IN THEM, AND YOU IN ME.

What is the Benefits of Fellowship with Jesus?

Jesus the Source of Grace for us all.

The Holy Spirit gives us gifts of the Spirit; however, it is Jesus who gives grace to each one.

EPHESIANS 4:7 BUT TO EACH ONE OF US GRACE WAS GIVEN ACCORDING TO THE MEASURE OF CHRIST’S GIFT.

It is also Jesus who gives to some ministry gifts:

EPHESIANS 4:11 AND HE HIMSELF GAVE SOME TO BE APOSTLES, SOME PROPHETS, SOME EVANGELISTS, AND SOME PASTORS AND TEACHERS,

Jesus the Source of Knowledge

Jesus has gone before us as the first-born son of God. He is our example, and like the disciples, we need to learn from Him how to heal the sick, preach the gospel, raise the dead.

We have learned that Jesus gives us ALL grace. However, we need to learn how to use that grace. This knowledge comes from Jesus Christ.

2 PETER 1:5-8 BUT ALSO FOR THIS VERY REASON, GIVING ALL DILIGENCE, ADD TO YOUR FAITH VIRTUE, TO VIRTUE KNOWLEDGE, TO KNOWLEDGE SELF-CONTROL, TO SELFCONTROL PERSEVERANCE, TO PERSEVERANCE GODLINESS, TO GODLINESS BROTHERLY KINDNESS, AND TO BROTHERLY KINDNESS LOVE. FOR IF THESE THINGS ARE YOURS AND ABOUND, YOU WILL BE NEITHER BARREN NOR UNFRUITFUL IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

This scripture teaches us that the purpose of learning from Jesus through a relationship with Him is to be fruitful, and to reproduce.

Jesus is our Wisdom and Power

We found in the baptism of the Holy Spirit the  power to move in signs and wonders comes from the Holy Spirit.

The wisdom in using the power of God in ministry comes from relationship with Jesus.

1 CORINTHIANS 1:24 BUT TO THOSE WHO ARE CALLED, BOTH JEWS AND GREEKS, CHRIST THE POWER OF GOD AND THE WISDOM OF GOD.

Fellowship with His Son brings Kingdom Authority

It gives us the authority and the power for Overcoming the Evil One.

If we enter into fellowship with King Jesus, He will teach us about authority in spiritual warfare, about kingdom principles, about principalities and powers, dominion and governmental authority. These truths are very important and show where a person is in their walk with God:

1 JOHN 2:13-14 I WRITE TO YOU, YOUNG MEN, BECAUSE YOU HAVE OVERCOME THE WICKED ONE. … I HAVE WRITTEN TO YOU, YOUNG MEN, BECAUSE YOU ARE STRONG, AND THE WORD OF GOD ABIDES IN YOU, AND YOU HAVE OVERCOME THE WICKED ONE.

We find here that spiritual warfare is for those who are strong, and the word of God abides in them.

Who is the word of God? Jesus!

When the Word of God is continually abiding in us we then Disarm Principalities.

Jesus teaches us the need to destroy the works of the evil one and how to do it. If we want to learn from Jesus, we will quickly learn that Jesus’ message is about the kingdom.

COLOSSIANS 2:15 HAVING DISARMED PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS, HE MADE A PUBLIC SPECTACLE OF THEM, TRIUMPHING OVER THEM IN IT.

But there are Dangers of Only Focusing on the Kingdom

We must Keep Jesus at the Center.

However, in prayer ministry, we need to be careful not to focus on the war at hand but on the person we are warring over.

It is Fellowship with Jesus, not fellowship with spiritual warfare.

Let’s say that we love the bible, which is a good thing. But if we love the bible more than God, who created the bible, it becomes an intellectual exercise rather than a relationship.

Some theologians have a minimal personal relationship with Jesus. And it is also the same with spiritual warfare.

If we focus only on bringing the Kingdom of God to earth without a genuine and honest relationship with the Son, then we run the risk of becoming a stranger to Him.

Luke 13:25 WHEN ONCE THE MASTER OF THE HOUSE HAS RISEN UP AND SHUT THE DOOR, AND YOU BEGIN TO STAND OUTSIDE AND KNOCK AT THE DOOR, SAYING, ‘LORD, LORD, OPEN FOR US,’ AND HE WILL ANSWER AND SAY TO YOU, I DO NOT KNOW YOU, WHERE YOU ARE FROM,’

Also, suppose we focus only on the principles of kingdom thinking.

In that case, we may miss out on the wonders of the last two fellowships – Fellowship of His Suffering and the most important – Fellowship of the Mystery of His Will.

Jesus warns us of the dangers of enjoying the power of God and encourages us to go deeper.

LUKE 10:17-20 THEN THE SEVENTY RETURNED WITH JOY, SAYING, “LORD, EVEN THE DEMONS ARE SUBJECT TO US IN YOUR NAME.” AND HE SAID TO THEM, “I SAW SATAN FALL LIKE LIGHTNING FROM HEAVEN. BEHOLD, I GIVE YOU THE AUTHORITY TO TRAMPLE ON SERPENTS AND SCORPIONS, AND OVER ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY, AND NOTHING SHALL BY ANY MEANS HURT YOU. NEVERTHELESS DO NOT REJOICE IN THIS, THAT THE SPIRITS ARE SUBJECT TO YOU, BUT RATHER REJOICE BECAUSE YOUR NAMES ARE WRITTEN IN HEAVEN.”

There are dangers in the Deliverance Ministry.

The devil likes to attention-seek, and demons need to be silenced, rather than taking up a lot of time and attention on a person who the devil is using to create a distraction.

Yes, we need to continue praying for people to be free from demonic spirits, but if it takes a long time, then deliverance prayer is better out of sight rather than in front of a crowd.

LUKE 4:35 BUT JESUS REBUKED HIM, SAYING, “BE QUIET, AND COME OUT OF HIM!” AND WHEN THE DEMON HAD THROWN HIM IN THEIR MIDST, IT CAME OUT OF HIM AND DID NOT HURT HIM.

The length of time the deliverance takes without any positive results lowered the faith level in the people who attended the service.
