Garden of the heart 2-1

The pathway of relationship leads to deeper intimacy with God Flowing from inside out – heaven to our gateways of spirit, soul, body to the world around us. There are depths of relationship on this pathway yet to discover.

Our heart is our very core where soul and spirit are joined in the secret place of intimacy. This is where the essence of who you are personality and redemptively can come into union with your eternal spirit self. Our image restored and conformed to the vast sum of His thoughts revealed to us in eternity and in intimacy

What is in our heart will determine how we live. Our heart motivates and directs our lives. Our heart contains the programming that triggers our reactions and responses. What is in our heart has come from the world, nature, nurture and trauma. Originally it was the breath of life, God’s word that programmed our hearts.

Gen 2:7 Then the Lord God formed man … and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.  God’s word – His breath contains life.  Gen 1:28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule…

God gave Adam a garden on earth so that it would reflect Eden – God’s heavenly garden. God walked with Adam in those gardens.

Our heart is designed to reflect our spirit and heaven to be gardens where God can walk with us today. Our heart is designed to be fruitful.   Our heart is designed to multiply to expand and grow. Our heart is designed to be filled. Our heart like a garden has soil which needs preparing. We need to prepare the soil of our heart for fruitfulness.

Matt 13:19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart.  The Living word must be sown into good fertile soil in our heart for it to produce the life it contains.

Your heart’s garden is created to reflect your image as a son. So, eternity and time converge in the union of soul and spirit.  We need to tend the garden to reflect our heavenly spiritual identity and our redemptive gift identity. Our heart needs to be in good condition if it is to be a source of life.

Our heart usually has soil that is a seed bed of insecurity programmed by our nature, nurture and trauma experiences. Jesus describes 4 different types of soil in the heart. We need the right type of soil, and it must be well conditioned and fertile.

In a garden some plants like acid soil and some alkaloid or neutral soil.  Most plants can tolerate or adapt but they don’t thrive.  Lies thrive in insecure soil and truth does not. Truth thrives in secure soil lies do not.

We need to prepare our hearts.

Matt 13:18 “Hear then the parable of the sower. 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road. – indicative of a hard heart and compacted soil.

Matt 13:20 The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. – indicative of the heart with negative programs making stony soil.

Matt 13:22 And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. – an anxious worried heart creating weedy soil.

Matt 13:23 And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.” – a heart with good fertile soil where truth thrives.

What is the soil of our heart like? Are there any areas that are hard?   Are there any areas that are filled with stones – bad memories, fear, trauma? Are there any wrong seeds sown? Are there any roots from a wrong source? Are there any poisonous fruits?

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil = The pathway & source of all self & humanism. Roots sourced from Satan’s trade – offer of independence.

Heb 12:15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

Soil of insecurity. Seeds of offense. Roots of bitterness. Fruit of resentment.

Soil of an insecure heart through lack of love, acceptance, affirmation, approval or encouragement. Seeds are offences – things said or done or things not said or done, sins committed against you.  Roots of bitterness are things you think or feel – your responses, emotions, attitudes. Fruits are things you say or do – your resulting behavior.

It is important to give ourselves the time & space for reflection. 1 Cor 10:28 examine yourselves. 1 Cor 11:13 judge yourselves. We can be open and transparent with God because He loves us. He will reveal our hearts to us if we are proactive to ask and seek Him.

Psa 139:23 Search me thoroughly, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; 24 and see if there be any hurtful (idolatrous, wicked) way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way (my eternal destiny.)  Are we willing to pray that prayer?

2 Cor 3:18…are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. Process of change to display glory – the manifest presence of God on earth as it is in heaven. We can choose to embrace, pursue the process of change and maturity or not. We can choose to stay babies, toddlers or infants but then we won’t inherit true sonship.

Our heart has senses just like our body. Ears of the heart is our conscience. Eyes of the heart is our imagination. Voice of the heart is our reason.

The heart has emotions, desires and will. The heart has a personality and a redemptive identity. The heart thinks and has a mind that has conscious, subconscious and unconscious areas.

The subconscious mind is where our memories are stored and our mind-sets, beliefs systems, world views and values are programmed. The garden of our heart is where the subconscious and conscious mind intersect and connect. The subconscious hard drive loads programs into our conscious mind RAM.

Our heart is created to be the place where our spirit and soul connect where the secret place of intimacy with God can be cultivated.  Where green pastures and quiet waters reside, and a table is set before us.

Our heart and spirit are our inner world. Heart connects with the outer physical world through the physical senses of the body. Heart connects with the heavenly spiritual world through our spirit.

Our heart is connected to the spirit by the river of life. The river of life was flowing out of Eden, God’s heavenly garden, into Adam’s earthly garden. It did not stagnate and die there like the river Jordan does going into the Dead Sea.

The river of life flowed out and divided into 4 rivers and watered the earth. Our heart is where our spirit joined and one with the Holy Spirit connects and flows through our body to the outside world.  Springs and Rivers describe the Holy Spirit and our spirit flowing together.

The spring or fountain of John 4 is within our spirit – this becomes the rivers of John 7 flowing through our soul into the world. Adam’s physical garden is now equated to our heart’s garden.  We are still responsible to tend and cultivate the garden of our heart.

4 rivers in Adam’s Garden flowed to 4 physical areas.

Now we have 4 chambers of our heart representing 4 places of intimacy, restoration and connection with God. They are all connected by the river of life. The river of life is connected to the tree of life which is heaven’s life source.

My spirit joined to the Lord in first love and becoming one spirit with God flows into my soul. This brings spiritual life, guidance direction, power and restoration. It brings agreement, cooperation, unity, unison and oneness.

The more open my spiritual gates are the more depth there is to the river and the more powerful the flow. Ezek 47 talks about a river flowing from a house, we are that house of God and we are a gateway – a channel.

It starts with a trickle becomes ankle deep like a rivulet and continues to become knee deep like a steam. It increases in its flow becoming waste deep like a tributary but must become out of depth like a river in flood.

The river has a wave frequency and a wavelength and creates a spiritual atmosphere – a vibrational frequency of love, joy, peace and power around us. That spiritual atmosphere can expand and extend to cover all our spheres of influence and authority on earth as it is in heaven.

The river of life connects my heavenly mountain where my spirit is enthroned to the mountain of my spirit. God must be enthroned on the seat of rest in my spirit so I can become the gateway to bring kingdom life to my 7 earthly spheres of government.

Prov 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

There is 10x more electromagnetic energy around the heart than around the brain. The blood can reprogram our conscious mind and the cells of our body with what is stored in our hearts.

Prov 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But desire fulfilled is a tree of life.  We need to guard our hearts and be deliberate about what is stored there.  God wants to restore our hearts, heal our hearts   God wants us to have hearts that are filled with good soil and are fruitful.
