2 Corinthians 3: 16 but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
All change into the image of Jesus Christ comes by a revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ. It comes by exposure to the Lord as He reveals himself to us. We behold His glory!
It all comes by the grace of God through faith. Grace is the influence and power of the Spirit of God working within our heart. Faith is seeing the unseen realm, the realm in which God lives.
We are not changed by our behavior, by keeping a set of laws or standards. We are changed by the renewing of our mind as God’s thoughts and feelings become ours. When thoughts combine with feelings, it becomes a power within us which transforms us from the inside out.
Love is the strongest power in the universe. As the love of God grows in our life, it becomes the motivating, controlling factor which governs our lives.
Whenever a person turns to the Lord, the word turn is epistrepho. It means to be converted. It means to get off the path of living to please ourselves and get on the path of living to please the Lord.
These pathways are the path of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which is “living independently of God, leaning upon our own understanding choosing what we think is good” and the path of the tree of life, “which is the Lordship of Jesus over our life”.
When the direction of our life changes to follow Jesus, the veil over our spiritual eyes is removed. This veil is our flesh, our physical body.
Our brain has been programmed from the outside in through our five physical senses and what we have experienced in the natural realm has been our reality, the way we thought and lived, until we were born again.
The illusion of the natural realm has limited and restricted us and created a false believe system which controlled us.
But where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. The realm or place where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
When we were born again we were given the ability to see and enter into the kingdom realm of the Spirit, where the Spirit of God lives-John 3:3-5
With an unveiled face we see who we are in Christ. The image we see reflected then becomes our new reality and we are transformed from glory to glory.
The key to change is keeping our eyes on the Lord so that it becomes a mind-set. To be spiritually minded is life and peace.
If the enemy can distract our focus, break our connection with the Lord through the circumstances of the passing scene, the natural realm, our focus shifts from the Spirit to the flesh and we become double minded.
If we stumble and fall, we have to quickly get back up again and walk in the Spirit. If we learn how to walk in the Spirit, we will never fulfill the desire of the flesh and we will keep moving from glory to glory.
