  Ketubah 1-4

Engaging God Ketubah • God’s desire is a marriage relationship with us His people those He created • A Ketubah is a marriage contract made under a huppah or covering cloud • Jesus went to the cross to prepare a place for us in Him and a marriage chamber in us  • He was resurrected and came back for us so we could a have a wedding.

Engaging God Ketubah • At a wedding, there was step five of the process: the Huppah – Pentecost • The whole point of Pentecost: is the oil of the Holy Spirit flows through leaven.  • God uses ‘leavened’ beings weak imperfect people but a people that He loves and died for • God wants to marry you, leaven and all.

Engaging God Ketubah • God wants an intimate relationship with a group of people, who are slaves to something • God wants to reconcile and restore a broken relationship • In a marriage relationship He can then set them free from the restrictions and bondages that hinder and limit them

Engaging God Ketubah •What are you a slave to?  •What’s your slave driver?  •What freedom do you need in your life right now? •That freedom will only be found in knowing Jesus the Truth by personal experience

Engaging God Ketubah • Read John 14 in the context of God’s desire for an intimate marriage relationship • John 14:3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.  • John 14:6 … I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Engaging God Ketubah • John 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? • John 14:19 After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. 20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

Engaging God Ketubah •John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him. •Don’t think rules think Ketubah relationship

Engaging God Ketubah •John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him •Keeping His word is enjoying the power and benefits of the Ketubah

Engaging God Ketubah • Matt 22:37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

Engaging God Ketubah •Everything under the old covenant; all the law and prophets is now completed and realised in a new covenant of love •All the covenants and promises and mandates are now realised in Christ •Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David are all fulfilled in the new covenant

Engaging God Ketubah •To make a Ketubah we need to understand the new covenant relationship that we are now in •Understanding the basis of God’s promises and purpose will enable the new covenant to become the basis of our Ketubah

Engaging God Ketubah • In the old covenant Israel made or cut that agreement with God and continually broke it • They needed yearly atonement sacrifices • In the new covenant Jesus makes or cuts the agreement with God and becomes the perpetual sacrifice • Therefore the new covenant cannot broken

Engaging God Ketubah • Eph 2:11 Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision,” which is performed in the flesh by human hands— 12 remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Engaging God Ketubah • Eph 2:14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, 15 by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, 16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.

Engaging God Ketubah • Eph 2:18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord,

Engaging God Ketubah • Heb 9:14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, … those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance

Engaging God Ketubah • Heb 6:17 In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, 19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, 20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Engaging God Ketubah •Heb 7:22 so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant. •Heb 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.

Engaging God Ketubah • Everything is now possible because of the better new covenant established by the blood of Jesus. • I only have to be in Christ Jesus • I deny myself take up the cross and follow Him and everything is available to me; His grace, mercy and love in righteousness and justice.  • I choose to be a living sacrifice so I don’t have to do it myself

Engaging God Ketubah • I no longer have to follow the humanistic path of the knowledge of good and evil • I am on the eternal path of the tree of life that contains continual fruitfulness.  • I can become gentle and humble in heart yoked to Jesus in first love • I know who I am within God’s eternal purpose and I can trust Him.

Engaging God Ketubah • I am in His name and I have His power of attorney.  • I am a son of God.  • He is my priority and I am the apple of His eye.  • I am in His heart and He is in mine. • The Ketubah is my agreement to trust Him totally

Engaging God Ketubah • What do we put in our Ketubah? • Everything that will bring the fulfilment of our eternal destiny • The expectation of the availability all the resources that will enable us to fulfil God’s purpose • It then becomes the foundational truth and reality from which we live and we can frame our lives in accordance with it

Engaging God Ketubah • Gen 1:28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule • This mandate forms the basis of my expectations in relationship • I am blessed by God so I expect Him to empower me to succeed and prosper to the highest level

Engaging God Ketubah • Ketubah is also made on the basis of my destiny scroll that which was agreed with my spirit in eternity within God’s heart • Psa 139:16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.

Engaging God Ketubah • Psa 139:17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! • The more we engage God in intimacy the more of the vast sum of His thoughts about us get revealed • We find our true identity and the blueprint the scroll for our lives • We can produce our Ketubah from that context

Engaging God Ketubah • Ketubah is about our expectations of our relationship with God and our destiny and purpose within that relationship.  • In relationship we seek first His kingdom and righteousness, which means out of our first love for Him, and then all God’s promises are available to us. • We are in Him and in His name

Engaging God Ketubah • John 14:13 Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. 15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. • We can have any promise we find in the word of God and in any personal prophecy, blueprint, dream or vision.

Engaging God Ketubah • John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. • This is the basis of our Ketubah formed in peace with an expectation of wholeness • God’s desire for restoration of relationship is the basis of our confidence to make a Ketubah

Engaging God Ketubah •The Ketubah becomes the basis of our trading or covenant exchange.  •We trust Him by surrendering to our destiny and He provides, protects, empowers and us blesses us to prosper and succeed to the highest level.
