A call to rediscover the supernatural in Christ
When words like mystic, ascension, angelic encounters, higher consciousness, frequency, vibration, sapphire dimension, realms or meditation are mentioned, many believers immediately recoil. These terms have been so closely associated with New Age spirituality that fear, suspicion, and dismissal often follow. Yet what if the enemy’s strategy has not only been to counterfeit spiritual experiences, but also to corrupt language so thoroughly that God’s people abandon entire realms of biblical reality out of fear?
Scripture is undeniably supernatural. Moses ascended into the sapphire glory on Sinai, Paul was caught up into the third heaven, and John was summoned through an open door into heaven. Ezekiel, Daniel, Elijah, and countless others encountered visions, angelic visitations, and divine manifestations that cannot be explained by natural reasoning alone. These were not symbolic metaphors; they were real encounters initiated by God and governed by His authority.
Because Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, he does not invent spirituality, he imitates and distorts it. We see this clearly in Egypt, where Pharaoh’s magicians counterfeited Moses’ signs until their power failed and they were forced to confess, “This is the finger of God.” Even when their serpents appeared powerful, they were ultimately swallowed by God’s authority. Counterfeit power may impress, but it never rules.
This is why discernment matters, especially with language. I am even more careful now in how I use words such as higher consciousness, frequency, energy, or vibration. I do not borrow New Age definitions, nor do I detach these concepts from Scripture. When I use such language in my writings or teachings, I am describing spiritual awareness, alignment, and responsiveness to God’s unseen order and not self-generated power or autonomous awakening. Scripture itself tells us that what is seen was made from what is unseen, and that creation responds to its Creator.
The issue has never been the words or the experiences but what is worshipped. Israel’s High Priest wore gemstones filled with meaning and glory, yet they were never objects of worship. Creation carries properties God designed, but when the created thing replaces the Creator, truth becomes idolatry. The enemy always pushes worship in the wrong direction.
Now, in light of recent scandals within prophetic and charismatic circles, another deception has emerged. Many are saying we focused too much on gifts and not enough on character. Oh brother, smh
, not again. While character is essential, this statement is often used to justify retreat from the supernatural rather than maturity within it and seeing a greater problem, a BROKEN hierarchal system. More control and behaviour modification is not the solution.
Scripture never separates power from formation. It’s not that dichotomous. Paul corrected misuse of gifts without silencing them, and Jesus never diminished supernatural ministry because some mishandled authority.
The solution to abuse is not absence. The answer to counterfeit is not avoidance. The Holy Spirit has not failed,…….human stewardship has.
Character without power produces religion, and power without character produces harm. But character formed in union with Christ and power submitted to the Spirit produces sons and daughters who can be trusted with authority. And that’s just the beginning. The system itself needs complete dismantling and deconstruction. But that’s a whole other topic. And I’m certainly not saying I have all the answers, but from someone who has counseled hundreds of people who suffered clergy abuse one way or another, and I, myself, was spiritually abused, I hold a different perspective.
Nevertheless, one key element to ascending is that I do not promote manufactured or scripted spiritual encounters. Authentic encounters are encouraged and initiated by God, grounded in Scripture, and centered in Christ alone. This hour is not calling us backward, but deeper,…..not away from the supernatural, but into a refined, consecrated, and governed expression of it.
The world is hungry for the supernatural, but what it needs are sons and daughters who walk in spiritual awareness, anchored in the Word, and submitted to Christ, with purity of heart.
Therefore, my friends, let us discern the counterfeit, reclaim what belongs to the Kingdom, and walk in the fullness of life Jesus promised, rooted in faith, governed by truth, and centered on His glory—SELAH
