New Testament repentance

New Covenant repentance is different from Old Covenant repentance. John the Baptist and Jesus preached the kingdom was near. When Jesus was crucified he dealt with sin once and for all. When Jesus was raised from the dead at His coronation the Kingdom was established, and we were translated into it.

God dealt with sin on the cross and our old man was crucified with Jesus. So, God is not dealing with sin or our old man, He is dealing with our new man in Christ.

Every situation in our life is an opportunity to learn Christ. So, when we repent, we are repenting of missed opportunities to put on Christ. We are repenting that we failed the test and are going to have to take it over again.

Life on earth is the school of the Spirit, where we are learning how to respond and walk in the divine nature.

So, if we become anxious, we don’t repent of anxiety, we repent that we have not been practicing peace. If we manifest unrighteous anger we do not repent of being angry, we repent because we have not been practicing patience and long suffering.

We never focus on a negative in Christ because all negativity has been crucified with Christ. What we are focusing on is who we are becoming in Christ, we are learning how to grow up in all things into Him.
