Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. Jude 3.
Shall not the Lord build thee up together in the holy faith that was once delivered unto the saints? Yea, thou shalt walk in the miracles as in the days of old; and then shalt thou behold the signs and wonders in the earth as it was at the beginning. When the house of God shall walk in its humility, then shall the Lord be glorified in the midst; and behold, it shall be said that God dwelleth in the midst of Zion and His glory overshadoweth her. Behold, His grace is continually with her. Thou shalt look unto the Lord, for the Lord thy God shall build again the house of the Lord. Turn ye unto the Lord and contend earnestly for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints, for thy God shall surely restore it. He shall bring it forth, and thou shalt perceive the faith of the Lord in the house of God.
When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purged the bloodshed of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning, then the Lord will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy. Isaiah 4:4–5.
Vision and witness shall be given unto the people of the Lord that their eyes shall be enlightened; then shall they perceive how for a long time they have groaned under chains and they have not realized it. They have come to the stalls and there is no fodder. Behold, they go into the pastures and there is nothing to eat, and they perceive not that a deceived heart has turned them aside and they do feed upon ashes. But when they shall turn unto the Lord and the Lord shall cause their eyes to perceive their need, then shall they return unto the Lord; and the Lord shall set food before them. Then shall they know the pastures of the Lord that are green. Then shall the house of God again flourish, and its prosperity shall become apparent; for the Lord shall cause it to stand. Yea, cry ye unto the Lord until the eyes of this people shall be opened, until the veil shall be lifted from the eyes of men, that the people of the Lord shall perceive that portion which is theirs from the Lord.
Behold, when a man despiseth instruction and correction from the Lord, he wandereth out of the way without understanding; then shall he look unto the Lord, and the Lord shall lead him back again unto the paths that he has forsaken. Yea, ask ye for the old paths (Jeremiah 6:16); inquire what is the way that ye may walk therein. It is written in the Word, “This is the way; walk ye in it” (Isaiah 30:21). Ye shall perceive His voice and ye shall understand His will. Ye shall walk in the ways that the Lord hath chosen for thee and not in the way that thine own heart or the heart of man has devised for thee to walk in.
For though there be many that would make merchandise of thee, yet behold, thy Lord and thy God shall not spoil thee; but He shall raise up shepherds that shall be willing to give their lives for thee. He shall deliver His sheep from the hand of the hireling that runneth when the wolf cometh (John 10:12–13). There shall be shepherds after His own heart that shall walk in His ways (Jeremiah 3:15); they shall not forsake His people in the hour of danger. And when trouble cometh upon the face of the earth, they shall be found in the midst of the congregation nourishing the flock and preserving them from danger. For the Lord shall raise up shepherds that shall be warrior-shepherds; and the weapons in their hands shall be mighty against the wolf that would prey, against the lion that would roar against the saints of God, and against him that would come to cast the saints down from their inheritance.
The Lord shall make warrior-shepherds that shall do battle in the day of battle, that the sheep might be protected and might be fed. He shall lead thee out, and He shall bring thee in according to His good counsel. He shall cause thee to grow fat.
Behold, thou shalt be His inheritance. He shall call thee by name; thou shalt know and understand His voice. Thou shalt perceive him that is a false prophet; thou shalt sense him that is a false apostle; thou shalt see how the Lord thy God shall give thee wisdom and understanding to know thy shepherds in thy midst, and to know those that are over thee in the Lord that ye may be obedient to them. So shalt thou flourish, and so shalt thou be fed and nourished and sustained by that which thy God bringeth. Yea, is it not better to walk with sacrifice in the way of the Lord than to dwell in tents of wickedness with abundance? (Psalm 84:10.) For the Lord shall blow upon the tents of wickedness, and they shall be brought low. He that walketh humbly before his God shall be exalted; he shall endure (I Peter 5:6). When other things shall fall and collapse, shall not his works stand in the day of judgment?
For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord gives grace and glory; no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in Thee! Psalm 84:10–12.
