The Glorious Appearing

If you wonder what God is going to get out of the history of this world and why he tolerates the wickedness and the injustice and the suffering that has gone on for so long, the answer is God is going to get a people for himself, he is going to get a bride that absolutely loves him and sons that are going to run his kingdom for Him.

Titus 2: 11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men teaching them, that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in the present age looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of the glory of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for himself, a people, special (one’s own), eagerly desiring good work.

This verse is not just speaking about the second coming of Jesus Christ, but has a deeper meaning of His appearing to us now.

This verse has reference to the second coming, but it was a letter to Titus, from Paul in the context of Titus setting the church in order in Crete, appointing elders, and exhorting the people to good works.

It is in context with the grace of God APPEARING-2:11 and the love of God APPEARING when we are born again-3:4 in reference to Jesus’ death on the cross. But being born from above, and the grace of God teaching us, the Holy Spirit teaching us are intimate experiences that we have with God.

Looking for the glorious APPEARING of the glory of the great God, the word great means megas, this is talking about mega grace.

The glorious appearing, the word appearing is epiphaneia in the Greek, “epiphany,” lit., “a shining forth,” the word epiphany means a sudden realization; it is used of the “appearance” of a god to men.

In these last days Jesus is going to start appearing to the church, before his second coming, we need to prepare our heart for it.

It is through holiness that we see the Lord, being purified from every lawless deed.

In these last days the glory of God is going to shine forth from within us, as we experience the latter rain outpouring of the Spirit, as God brings in the finial harvest, before the second coming of Jesus.

Isaiah 60: 1Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the LORD has risen (shoot forth) upon you.2 “For behold, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness the peoples; But the LORD will rise (shoot forth) upon you And His glory will appear upon you.
