The words God has spoken to us

Above everything else, there must be a determination in your heart to walk in the will of the Lord and to submit your will totally to what the Lord would bring forth. There must be more than a simple consent to it. You do not consent to the truth, you walk in it violently! Do not merely say, “Yes, I believe this is a truth.” Let it become a part of your life, the rule by which you live. The truth, the word from the Lord, becomes the basis by which you judge all your actions and determine all your feelings.

The Lord is speaking to our hearts and preparing us for things that will move the whole world. We do not say, “Yes I believe in the walk”—we walk! We determine to move out of ourselves into what God has for us. We determine not to live selfishly, wrapped up in ourselves, but to be channels for God’s love, channels for God’s word to flow out to the world. This becomes the determination of our hearts. It becomes the purpose for which we live.

Our very life is centered around the words that God has spoken to us. For that reason those words try us as they did Joseph. Until the day that the word came to pass it tried him. These trials sometimes bring us low. They bring us to many things we wouldn’t anticipate, and we wouldn’t normally walk in them.

The word of the Lord comes to your heart and provokes problems, conflicts of loyalties, mixed affections, attitudes, and emotions that are welled up deep within your heart. Sometimes everything within you wants to rebel the fact that you have hung onto a word; all seems pointless and fruitless. But walk in that word anyway. Have in your heart the faith that God is going to bless that word and you are going to come through to embrace everything that word has spoken. You are going to be what God says you are. You are going to do what He declares. You are going to be a living expression of the word of God in the earth, living epistles read and known of all men. You are going to walk in this.

Open your heart afresh. Get beyond an intellectual assent to the truths that you’ve heard, and let them be more than that. In every respect, let them move violently within your heart. Prepare your heart for changes, so that nothing anyone says or does will be able to discourage you from the word that God has spoken over you.

I am determined to do this. Are you determined too? God has spoken a word to your heart—believe!
