We shrink when we resist God: we expand when we submit

When we say yes to God, we must say no to something else. The reverse of that is also true. When we say no to God it is because we have already chosen something or someone else instead. Counting the cost of both decisions is therefore a crucial exercise in discipleship.

When we walk with God grace upon grace is multiplied to us. Grace is the empowering Presence of God to become like Him and to do what He is calling us to do! When we resist the grace of God, we imprison ourselves to the present and must therefore redefine our future in this world and our inheritance in the Kingdom.

We can restrict the freedom we can experience in the Spirit. Life takes on new limitations that cramp our style, that cramp our capacity to enjoy who we are in Jesus. Our ability to rejoice and give thanks can often be a noticeable casualty.

We are less than enthusiastic about worship of the Lord and expressing our gratitude and adoration of who He is. Prayer becomes deadened. We are reduced in active faith and find simple trust to be difficult. The vibrancy of Christ within, the full expectation of glory is weakened. We shrink into a lack of expectancy.

When we respond to the voice of God, we grow. Increase is hugely important to the father. He loves fullness and abundance. He longs to see his people moving in the full flow of their divine inheritance in Christ. A positive response will always broaden our experience and create an internal culture of permission and release.

Obedience enlarges our capacity to be trusted by the Lord. Our vision is amplified. All true development springs forth from obedience. Without a reverence for the Lordship of Jesus over us, we cannot grow beyond a certain level. Everything remains outside of our reach. The high places in God depend upon the low places in our life being conquered.

When we say yes to the Lord, we come into a greater sense of who he is for us. This is not available to the casual seeker but is wholehearted towards people of the same disposition (2 Chronicles 15: 2).

Coming into Agreement and alignment with the Lord creates a larger tendency to magnify the Lord.
