What constitutes maturity?

God is raising up a prophetic community. Therefore, we need to reach a place of maturity in order to help one another grow up in all things, in all areas of our life into Christ.

Knowing God’s intentionality and faithfulness is a major part of developing prophetic utterance. New Testament prophets need to know how guidance works so that they can assist people in breaking out of any inertia.

When I refer to guidance, I am speaking of our personal relationship with the Holy Spirit who leads us.

When I refer to direction, I am referring to the prophetic words that other people give us in the body of Christ which confirms that which the Lord is leading us into.

Maturity is knowing what God is doing in and through us as an individual and not confusing the two in our prophetic development.

Cultivating a life of celebration is most vital if we are to avoid negativity in the ministry. Rejoicing plays a major part in developing trust and becoming trustworthy.

When we do not know how to receive from our own devotional relationship with God, we become vulnerable in our contribution to others. Negativity is always at the door of our heart trying to get in. Praise neutralizes negativity.

True prophets have a passion for the presence of God, which empowers them to take responsibility for their own blessing, which in turn enables them to bring release and freedom to others. There is a progression of freedom that we receive in own walk with God that commissions release for people around us.

We must know the relational difference between moving in the power of the love of God instead of just having a love for the power of God.

Central to our prophetic development is that we personally cultivate a present-future mindset and lifestyle.

We have basically two relationships with God, one in the present and one in the future. The Holy Spirit is prophetic so that he is always relating to us by speaking forth who we are in the future as a mature son of God, so that we can take on that identity in the present.

This allows us to experience favor as a prophetic expression which elevates our persona in Christ above our personality. It is in this context or framework which will establish obedience as a key to sustained growth. God reveals who we are in Christ and then we act accordingly.

When I use the word persona I’m referring to our spirit when I use the word personality I’m referring to our soul.

When we know by experience that guidance is the byproduct of a right relationship with God then waiting on him becomes a matter of delight, not duty. The difference between guidance and direction guides our actions into the true place of fellowship.
