Yoke of Jesus

Matt 11:28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Discipleship is being yoked to Jesus as a person and to His teaching as a lifestyle, following Him, being like Him. Following Him is so much easier if we are yoked or joined to Him

We may visualize this as Jesus being the master or a farmer and us being yoked with a lighter load. But that is NOT the right picture.  Farmers used to yoke the young ox with the old, experienced ox to train them.

The old ox will take the major load and the young one will be walking along and learning from him.  Old ox knows the voice and the directions of the master. Old ox will keep the young ox on the right path.

Acts 26:14 ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads (pricks).’  The man working the ox would position the goad in such a way as to exert influence and control over the ox.  If the ox refused the command indicated by the farmer, the goad would be used to jab or prick the ox.

Sometimes the ox would refuse this incentive by kicking out at the prick. The more the animal rebelled, the harder it got.  Why was it hard because Paul was resisting the call of destiny on his life to be yoked to Jesus.

Jesus asks us to take His yoke upon us. So that we become joined to HimWe go where He goes.  This means that we do not get to choose which field we go to plough in.  Jesus sets the field, the path and the direction.

Jesus will carry the weight. Learn from Jesus – the training of discipleship. We learn gentleness of heart. We learn meekness-strength under His control. It becomes a heart issue – a new identity.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.  Believers in Jesus were called followers of the way. The way of discipleship. Come follow Me.

The way or the path of discipleship is the Highway of holiness. The Everlasting way. The Ancient path. The Eternal pathway of the way of the tree of life. The Narrow way. It is the Way or path of destiny.

Jer 6:16 Thus says the Lord, “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls.

Jer 18:15 ‘For My people have forgotten Me, They burn incense to worthless gods And they have stumbled from their ways, From the ancient paths, To walk in bypaths, Not on a highway, Lost access to the path of life .Walking on the path to death.

Two paths, the Path of the way (journey) of the tree of life-Gen 3:24. Or the Path of the knowledge of good and evil. Choose which way – humanistic, materialistic, in our strength with the sweat of our brow – hard work way. Or God’s way, which is the supernatural way, a walk in the Spirit.

Prov 14:12 There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death

Prov 12:28 In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway, there is no death.  Pathway of death or life?  Pathway of true life must come from death to self!

Rom 8:29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son. Our destiny is the way, which was ordained, predestined for us to become like God, by partaking of His nature. We were formed in God’s heart in eternity, sent to the earth, to become like him by taking Jesus’s yoke upon us and walking on the path of life.

Psa 139 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth 16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.

Prov 8:1 Does not wisdom call, and understanding lift up her voice? 2 On top of the heights beside the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; 3 Beside the gates, at the opening to the city, At the entrance of the doors, she cries out:

Ancient Eternal Path of our destiny

Conformed to the eternal image that God prepared and our spirit agreed to follow. Adam and Eve were sinless but not perfected and would have followed the same ancient pathway to full governmental authority as conformed sons of God.

Psa 86:6 I said, “You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most High. 7 “Nevertheless you will die like men and fall like any one of the princes.”  They were not on the right path to their destiny .They followed the path of the knowledge of good and evil.

John 10:34 Jesus answered them, “Has it not been written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’? 35 If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), we had 2 strands of DNA we get the 3rd strand of light restored

The process of conformity is where we access the 9 strands of Gods DNA .The path of ascension will lead to the 9 fire stones in Eden the mountain of GodThe path also leads to the dance floor where we can also engage the 9 strands of God’s DNA 3 strands of DNA from the Father .3 strands of DNA from the Son .3 strands of DNA from the spirit .Conforms us to the complete image as sons of God Jesus described us as gods sons of the Most High through transformation, transfiguration or metamorphosis.

Process of ascension or conformity to the eternal image of a son of God .9 fire stones and 9 DNA strands reveal .Character and nature of God as revealed in the 9 fruit of the spirit .The 9 foundational principles of government .The true destiny of sonship

Love Joy Peace Patience Kindness Goodness Faithfulness Gentleness Self Control The Laws Testimonies Ways Precepts Statutes Commandments Judgments Ordinances Wonders of God. Walk in His ways in this realm. Exercise heavenly authority.

Transfiguration Transformation Metamorphosis into the true reality and consciousness of who we really are. The pathway of tree of life is the true source of relationship that brings knowledge, wisdom, understanding, council, might and fear of Lord.  Not possible on the path that Satan offered the humanistic path of tree of knowledge good and evil knowledge.

Path of the cross.  Discipleship is death to self to produce fruit – the gold, silver and precious stones of our destiny scroll  .John 12:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Rom 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His res

Resurrection life and newness of life as new creations. Path of discipleship is death to self effort and brings new and abundant life .Gen 1:26 Be fruitful multiply fill the earth subdue and rule – produce more disciples.

Matt 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Jesus invited people to follow Him. Jesus is the way, the path  .Luke 9:23 And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.  Become a disciple, a follower, pupil an apprentice.

Decision to follow Jesus Christ is the beginning of Christian discipleship.  Jesus himself demonstrated clear conditions for being his disciples.  What does it means to be a follower of the WAY – a disciple .We need to know what it is not!

Discipleship is not:  Easy! It is not ‘bed of roses’.  It is not a use of our spare free time.  It is not just going to church on Sunday.  It is not a life of compromise, it is not a license to do whatever you like.

Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple. 27 Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple

Luke 14:33 So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.  Mark 8:34 And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.

Luke 8:35 For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?  He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. – Jim Elliot

1 John 2:6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.  He walked the way of the cross .Dead to self only doing what he saw the Father doing and saying what He heard the Father saying.

Matt 11:28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

The lord talked to me about living from a place of rest, a place of peace and wholeness.  He gave me a revelation from this passage that I can live in, and that He wants all of us to live in.

In a literal sense, the word ‘Yoke’ means a bar of wood, so constructed as to unite two animals (usually oxen), enabling them to work in the fields, drawing loads, pulling instruments used for farming.

Synonymous. Slavery. Servanthood .Submission, .Burden, Load .Oppression .Bondage to Sin.

Acts 15:10 – Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?  Religious bondage of dead works to earn God’s salvation, favor or blessings is a yoke of slavery and bondage.

We may be under the yoke of sin, oppression, guilt, failures, anxieties or worries.  Jesus has set us free from the yoke, we just need to come to him and cast our heavy burden on him. And he will give the rest for our souls.

Jesus took upon himself the yoke of Law and fulfilled it.  Therefore, through him, we can be set free from the yoke of sin and deathJesus invites all who are under the yoke of law or sin and offers the true rest for their souls.

So if Jesus promises His yoke is easy and His burden is light .Is that our personal experienceAm I tired?  Am I burdened?

So, if I feel tired, I need to ask Jesus to show me whyI am trying to survive and cope with life myself or am I surrendered to HimI am trying to provide for myself or is God my provider?

Am I trying to protect myself or do I trust in His protection for me?  Am I trying to find significance in achievements?  Am I trying to create my own self image?  Am I trying to compare myself with others or am I content to be unique?

Am I trying to be somebody else?  It is OK to have role models, but I need to be free to be meAm I trying to meet others expectations.  Maybe even the expectations my parents put on me as a child. It is God’s expectations we need to fulfill: that is our destiny.  Am I always feeling a failure?

Am I trying to wear a mask of pretence -keeping up appearances?  Am I trying to maintain control or have I surrendered control to GodAm I trying to cover up my inadequacies?  He knows all my faults and weaknesses, and loves me anyway.

He loves me enough to accept me, but also enough to transform me and make me whole.  Am I trying to be good and righteous with dead works?  Am I trying to make amends for my past or do I receive forgiveness as a free gift?

Jesus’ sacrifice provided all we need for salvation and for transformationAm I trying by works to please God, others & myselfI cannot please everyone, so it is better to choose just to please God

If I feel burdened, am I carrying things I shouldn’t be?  Burdened by false responsibilities for family, finances, or future?  Burdened by sin, guilt, shame & condemnation?  In Christ there is no condemnation. In Christ we are cleansed and made the righteousness of God.  Reacted me to be.

Am I burdened by the weight of false expectations?  Am I burdened by sorrows and grief?  Jesus came to carry our grief and our sorrows.  There is a grieving process, but we do not have to bear it on our own.

Am I burdened by disappointments? Hope deferred makes the heart sick (Prov 13:12).  Am I burdened by unforgiveness?  That is probably the heaviest weight for us to carry.  We have been forgiven completely and unreservedly: He wants us to forgive and release everybody else.

Am I burdened by worry, anxiety, fear?  Am I burdened by debtAm I burdened by carrying the responsibility for my own lifeSurrender to your destiny because that yoke is easy and that burden is light.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.  Cast your care on to Him it is a choice .What path are you following?

He has broad shoulders and can carry everything we would like to lay on Him.  He longs for us to hand over the burdens of our lives to Him, our past, our present and our future.

Jesus is here to help those who are exhausted, weary and burdened from carrying the load by themselves  .What comfort, peace and rest to know that Jesus is right with us, walking with us, teaching us and strengthening us side by side  .If we are yoked to Him.

Engage Jesus who is asking you to cast all your burdens onto Him.

Close your eyes think about Jesus kneeling before you  .Begin to picture Him  .Look into His eyes feel His love  .Begin to think about anything that you are doing in your strength that is making you weary  .Think about any burdens that are heavy.

Begin to think about that door. Activate your imagination as the doorway to encounter. Picture the door reach out and open the door  .The river is flowing God starts to envelope you.

Invite Jesus to embrace you. Let Him reveal himself to you. Let Him surround you and join with you .Feel the light energy His vibrational frequency energizing you. Feel Him touch your whole being feel restoration and renewal.

See Jesus with the yoke of discipleship .Are you willing to commit to following the WAY .Are you willing to let Jesus put His yoke on your shoulders .Are willing to take the burden of your governmental responsibility as a son.

Let Him fill you with His wisdom .Let Him remind your of God’s words about you .Let Him empower you .Let Him release His supernatural gifts and abilities to come upon on you .Feel His equipping and empowerment.
