We are redeemed. We are new creations. We are the righteousness of God.
All of this is wrought of God.
He calls us, “My righteous ones who walk by faith.”
Now we are to take our place as sons. What grace!
Once, we were sons of Satan.
Now, we are sons of God, by a new birth based upon legal grounds.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. (Romans 8:14)
This is the climax of God’s revelation to Paul—becoming sons of God.
God bears witness that the thing is done. You are born into His family.
For as many as received Him, to them, He gives the right to become children of God.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12–13)
On the ground of what God did in Christ, everyone has a right to sonship privileges.
And I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:17–18)
God will take His place. You take yours.
Beloved, now we are children of God. (1 John 3:2)
We are sons now, with a son’s rights, a son’s authority.
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:26)
Now take your place as a child. Enjoy your rights.
You are welcome in His presence. He loves you. He longs for your fellowship.
If you are sons, God is now your Father. You are in His family.
This is the objective toward which all the purposes of God have been working ever since the fall of man.
If you have never taken your place as a son, if you have never enjoyed the sweet fellowship that belongs to you as a child of God, you have been missing the richest feature in Christianity.
God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:9)
This fellowship is with the Father.
This only comes in its fullness and richness when the mind is renewed through the Word by the Spirit.
He will be a far-away God to you until you learn to call Him Father and take your place as a child.
