We Are the Righteousness of God

We are redeemed. Satan and justice have no claims against us.
God Himself in Christ satisfied the claims of justice and in Christ conquered Satan, delivering us from his authority.

We are in Christ.

Being in Christ, we are new creations.

Being new creations, we have but one Lord—Jesus.

Satan has no authority over us, unless we give him access through sin. We are no longer afraid of Satan or what he can do.

We are not afraid of God although we fear him in a reverent way, as we have been reconciled to Him in the death of His Son.

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:18)

Being reconciled, we have fellowship with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

Reconciliation is another word for fellowship.

Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:24–26)

Justifed (dikaióō) means to bring out the fact that a person is righteous.

We have been declared righteous by His grace.

For the shewing forth of His righteousness in the present time, for His being righteous, and declaring him righteous who [is] of the faith of Jesus. (Romans 3:26 YLT)

Jesus put sin away by the sacrifice of Himself.

But now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. (Hebrews 9:26)

Notice the word “Himself” that comes out again and again, showing that our righteousness is a work of Jesus.

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become( is vital redemption, conditional which means we must appropriate it) the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

God made Jesus to be sin “that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

By the new birth (our spirit becoming the spirit of Christ), this becomes possible in our walk with God on the earth by being filled with the Spirit where he fills out thoughts with God’s thoughts, God’s feelings becoming our feelings, and God’s will becoming our will.

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. (1 Corinthians 1:30)

God makes Jesus our righteousness.

But my righteous one will live by faith. (Hebrews 10:38 NIV)

We are His righteous ones.

It is imperative that we take our place and act our part.
God has made us righteous legally. We appropriate it vitally.

We must act as though we are righteous. God cannot bless us unless we walk in this.

Notice that God has become the righteousness of the person who has faith in Jesus.

He not only declares us righteous, but now, by His great grace, He becomes our righteousness.
