Bitter Waters Poison Your Life

By Dan Duvall.

God is the fountain of living waters. We’re talking about rivers of living water. So, God is a fountain. These living waters then flowed from his throne, where he sits, into the earth as interdimensional waters.

They flowed into Eden, the first temple. And Eden, serving as a type and shadow of the temple, then gives way to how God’s River, from his own person, flows into us, individually and corporately, established as his temple.

The Bible says, out of our hearts will flow forth rivers of living water, because as God, who sits on a throne, pours his river of living water into our hearts, it then breaks off into streams that are designed to flow into the earth through us.

These streams of God’s living water carry gifts and graces and the commerce of heaven to the nations of the earth.

Wherever we have been stationed, called, a sign, we are to be that fountainhead of streams, bringing life, redemption.

What we see is that in the Garden of Eden, the trees, the whole garden was watered by the river. And we understand that trees are symbols of the nations.

So, what are we doing? We’re called trees of righteousness. We are watered. And then we are cooperating with God to heal, to deliver, to set free. We are rivers from a scriptural perspective.

And we are working in this earth realm in conjunction with the heavenly Jerusalem. the mountain of Zion, which is God’s Mountain, the seat of his government.

This is an extraordinary concept, how Zion is past. Zion and Jerusalem as a heavenly city is a pre-Adamic conversation.

That city was the same city Abraham was looking for. He was searching for a city which had foundations whose builder and maker was God. What he found was Melchizedek, king of Salem, right?

This heavenly Jerusalem is also a realm that we occupy as believers through Christ. So, Christ is our door. He’s our ascension protocol. We step into Christ, and we engage and navigate heavenly realms and dimensions.

So, can we go to the source point of the river of God at his throne? The Bible says, come boldly before my throne of grace, where we will find mercy and grace to help in time of need.

Our entire ministry is an interdimensional conversation. That’s what it really means to be a Christian, not to be a broke, miserable, rule follower looking for an escape route before things get bad in the earth?

Because unlike the Chinese, Americans will get to disappear before they get persecuted. Okay. Right, exactly. That’s so stupid.

Why would you say that racist comment? It’s A fallacy. Like, there’s so much more for us. We are the answer to the problem. We are, amen. Right?

If God’s going to kick the devil in the teeth, he’s going to use you to do it because you are the feet of Jesus. John 7.38.

John 7.38- He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow forth rivers of living water.

Now, every part of us can be poisoned and broken. We’re talking about the trans-dimensional kingdom. You all probably remember this, right? Spirit, soul, body. Then we had this guy in the midst of that. That’s the heart.

And when we find Romans chapter 2, we see that there is the Holy Spirit that lives in the heart, in the spirit. And there is this massive bridge. It’s an interdimensional bridge to the Kingdom of God, right?

So, we spent a lot of time, week after week, we were talking about this from different angles, and kingdom of God.

So, when we look at the design, right, the reality is that the river actually flows right through that interdimensional bridge. Into what? The heart. Yes. Wow.

Now, this is the devil, OK? You’ll recognize him. Right? This is exactly what he looks like. That’s a pitchfork. OK, so that’s just– there it is. All right.

So now, the devil has a plan. He has a plan. He’s going to take this bottle right here. It’s a bottle of poison. And he’s going to pour it on thick. And it’s going to hit your body sometimes.

You know your body can be poisoned. Y’all want to talk about GMOs? Now, your soul can be poisoned. Y’all want to talk about hurt feelings?

Now, your spirit can be poisoned, right? You want to talk about, let us cleanse ourselves? Second Corinthians 7, 1, of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of the Lord. So, guess what?

The heart can be poisoned. Now, I’m going to give you Two words that has anchored bitterness. We’re going to call that bitterness poison. Has anchored bitterness.

I’m going to give you 2 words that has anchored bitterness into so many of us. And it is a statement, I’m justified.

So, now the problem is when the poison begins to affect the heart.

Now the river that flows out, that flows out through the spirit and the soul is toxic. See? Because the bitterness poisons the waters. And instead of carrying the life, the deliverance, the peace of God. It carries hurt and offense. It carries anger. It carries retaliation. Right?

So, we have, and I’m trying to strike the right tone here because I know this is a bomb. I know this is a bomb.

I’ve had to deal with bitterness. So, there’s no shame. Gods got to help you with this one.

We have all kinds of nonsense going on amongst us, those who consider themselves Christians. Nonsense.

We have husbands that are so bitter at their wives. Bitter, bitter, bitter. They can’t talk to them right. They can’t emotionally open up. They can’t show up in any way that really matters because that feels like taking power back.

They don’t support, protect, they substitute true intimacy for addiction cycles.

And then we have wives. Bitter, bitter, bitter. They come to church and smile. Love your preaching, Dan Duvall.

But when I have my friendship meeting, we’re going to cut my husband down to size. Oh, I’m going to spill the tea on this trash bag.

I’m so bitter and angry towards my husband, I will use it to punish him every day he comes home.

So, he knows it’s an iceberg in this house, and Antarctica is a continent that will not be moved.

I’m not going to forgive him because that’s how I protect myself from this filth. I will remind him of his problem, today, 10 years from now, because I’m taking power back.

Now we have Christians that serve the God of love. My God of love. But I hate myself. I can’t stand myself. I’m so full of self-hatred, I want to mutilate my own body. And sometimes, I want to kill myself.

I can’t believe my own memories because I’m so bitter at my own actions. That’s why I need my parts so I can blame them for everything I was forced to do. I know who I’m talking to.

What you need to understand is Jesus Christ took that shame. Jesus Christ died for what they made you do in that cult. He took the blame. He paid the price.

That’s why he loves us. That’s how we know. But to take, I serve the God of love, but I am committed to hating myself. That’s called impalement by shame.

Here’s another one. I’m so glad Ed had a positive word. We have Christians that smile at church. You’re a great person. But we are so bitter at God. You jerk. You don’t answer my prayers. You don’t care about me at all. And if you did, you would have done something. But you’re unavailable. You are not trustworthy. You’re not faithful to me. Maybe to Dan Duvall, but not to me, which makes me hate you even more. God, I’m bitter.

So, we feign belief in Jesus Christ because we’re afraid of getting tossed in hell. So, it’s actually a fear response. Salvation becomes a fear response.

And unfortunately, there have been certain churches that have preached it that way. You accept Jesus, or you’re going to go to hell. So, get him now.

And it’s like, I’m afraid. So, the fear response drives us to the repentance. But then we are bitter. We hate ourselves, we don’t trust God, and we become religious. Because as long as we have religion, we have enough rules to help us feel safe, even if we don’t have relationship or true intimacy.

So, we have people that are so upset with God, they can’t connect to him in prayer. It’s dry. Can’t connect to him in worship. Cut down. The word falls flat.

They feign belief because they’re afraid, but it’s a double bind. It’s a double bind. I don’t really like you, God. I think you’re a narcissist.

You make people that get punished and hurt by you worship you. But because I have no choice, since I’ll go to hell if I don’t, I guess I’ll just do it.

The life is broken, they’re bitter. They’re bitter. And on all of these points, if you really get down to the crux of the matter, but I’m justified, right?

If you were married to my husband, you’d know. If you were married to my wife, you’d know. If you lived the life I lived, you’d hate yourself too.

In fact, if God treated you the way he treats me, you’d hate God too. You’d be just as bitter as me. I’m justified. I have facts. I have a life experience. We have.

We have Christians. that hold bitterness towards a whole gender. I was abused throughout my life by 8 key men. Therefore, I hate all men.

I was abused in my childhood by 8 key women. Therefore, I hate all women. I’m bitter towards all women.

Watch out. I’ll charm you until I get you to marry me, and then I will teach you what it means to be hated in a marriage by a man.

So, then we have people in position that are just so bitter at the people that are over them. You’ve never had a boss you didn’t hate. They don’t see me. They didn’t promote me. They didn’t give me what I want when I wanted it. I’m bitter.

You know, they go from one position to the next, carrying bitterness and accusation towards the office of manager or authority. They can’t get it off of them.

And every manager and authority that hires this person and begins to work with them says, there’s something not right here.

This is dangerous to release in greater authority because there’s something so toxic here. It is destructive. Better park that one.

But on the other side, I’m going to be bitter at you too, because you’re doing it to me again. You know, at the end of the day, when we are faithful to deal with stuff, we’re faithful and little.

If we are truly in a situation where the Spirit of the Lord has been shut down, we’ve been targeted and stifled legitimately, and we are faithful in that. We’re getting promoted by God.

And the next door of opportunity is promotion. But when that is not the case, and when it’s actually an issue in us, the cycle will actually be a cycle. Bitterness. I’m justified.

Revelation chapter 8. Now we’re going to take a look at one of the trumpet judgments. Now the Book of Revelation, it is a very complex book. It’s got a lot of symbols. It’s got a lot of revelatory meanings, layered interpretations throughout.

But the general flow as you work through events beginning in chapter really 5, you see a situation where Jesus comes as the lamb slain from the foundation of the world, the only one qualified to open the book.

So, there’s a book, but that book has seven seals. And when he begins to open the seals, he unlatches those things that are holding the book shut, one at a time.

But when those seals are open, things happen. Number one, you see a white horse with a rider. Then you see a red horse with a rider, and a black horse with a rider, and a pale horse with a rider, who’s being ridden by death and Hades. And then we work our way in until we get to the last seal. And the 7th seal opens the trumpets.

And so then, thou the book can be opened, and seven angels receive 7 trumpets, and they begin to sound them. And then there are these massive judgments that are striking the earth.

Now, I happen to be a biblical literalist, So the foundational interpretation for me is that these are things that will literally happen. That sits at the bottom.

But I do not believe that negates layering of spiritual realities and application.

With that said, there is a third angel that sounds, and in Revelation chapter 8, verse 10 and 11, it says this, Then the third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on 1/3 of the rivers and on the springs of water.

Now this is so interesting, right, because I’m A biblical literalist, like I just said. However, the sun is many, many, many, many times larger than the earth.

They call Wormwood a great star. How does it fall on rivers, plural? You would think if it just hits a landmass, it’s going to hit a continent.

This is strange, but let’s just keep reading, right? So, burning like a torch, it fell on 1/3 of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became Wormwood. And many men died from the water because it was made bitter. Oh, man. Bitter waters.

Can I tell you; many men have drowned in bitter waters. Many men have died in bitter waters. Have you ever been in a typhoon of bitter waters? A waterfall of bitter waters? Many women have drowned in bitter waters. Childhoods, whole childhoods have died in the midst of bitter waters, been destroyed.

Man, I had two very, very bitter parents ruined my whole life. See, I’m going to tell you something about bitter water. Bitter water brings forth death.

Now, let’s go back to our example of you and I. Now, if the devil can get you to receive bitterness, poison into your humanity, largely targeting your heart, then he will put this… toxic poison in the living waters that are supposed to flow out of you.

And instead, you will be putting hurt, offense, anger, retaliation on the people that come in contact with your toxicity, even though you are a believer in Jesus Christ. Bitterness causes men to die. It is a major reason why a lot of you are dying in your marriages.

A marriage is really a composite of every area of our lives that overlaps with our significant other, right?

So, if we overlap in the marriage bed, if we overlap at family dinner, if we overlap on the children, if we overlap on dreams and hopes and desires, we have a very strong marriage.

But if we don’t have shared dreams and visions, if we don’t really think we’re on the same page parenting our kids and do that completely different, if we eat all of our meals in a separate location, in fact, if the marriage bed turns into an Antarctica outpost, guess how much of a marriage you got left?

So, when bitterness works its way into the heart, it drives this. It actually drives a separation on every area where we need that uniting to have fulfillment.

And eventually, with enough bitterness and time, the marriage becomes what I call an empty shell, an empty shell. It’s a construct. You can see it. Exists on paper. But these two couldn’t be further apart.

Let me tell you something. Relationship to God dies when we hold on to bitterness. Bitterness will drive God’s vision and your vision apart.

Oh man, your whole life will be on a different, because you can’t trust God’s version of you. Can’t trust him to back his version of you because you don’t think he’s faithful, you’re bitter.

You think you’re going to talk to that guy about your problems? Nah, 1-800-Counseling by secular people. Thank you.

I’ll get therapy from people who understand me. It’s, see, when we’re bitter at God, we’re not going to spend hours in the prayer closet. We’re not going to really worship Him. We’re going to watch people worship Him like, what’s your problem? Weird.

The life of, man. I’m feeling how heavy this is in the spirit world. I’m sorry. I do know that I’m hurting feelings today. But this is in love. I really, I have a vision.

I have a vision of a body of people. That starts to let go of their bitterness. I actually think that marriages can heal on this. I think that families can heal on this. I think that, right, jobs, whole businesses can heal on this. I think that relationships with God can heal on this. Because we have to understand what’s happening. I did not want to preach this today.

I got in a prayer of God’s like, you’re going to talk about bitter waters. And then I tried not to. I was like, no, I think I’m just going to stretch right into Zion. And it was stale. There was no revelation at all. It was just, oh, that’s the desert.

Okay, back to bitterness. It’s like, oh. I wrote this message in 20 minutes. So, I knew this was the Lord. This is the Lord. This is not my doing. Please don’t unsubscribe from our YouTube channel.

The body of Christ dies when we hold on to bitterness. I’m bitter at my pastor. He’s preaching on bitterness. I’m bitter. I’m bitter at his wife. She has a man that actually loves her. That makes me mad. the body cries, I’m bitter at my brother. He didn’t give me a hug today. I’m bitter at my sister. She did give me a hug today. Can I tell you something?

The physical body, the physical body goes into autoimmune disorders and physically deteriorates when we are bitter towards ourselves. Autoimmune disorders. The body begins to attack the body and it is actually being driven by the belief system. I hate myself.

The body’s like, well, looks like we might as well shut this whole thing down. I mean, it’s incredible the kind of deliverance we receive when people are liberated from self-hatred, self-contempt, and shame. This bitterness towards self is life and healing.

Let me tell you something about bitterness. Bitterness is an emissary of death. It’s a trafficker of death. Bitterness will traffic death into every place it can touch.

But Jesus has the keys of hell and death. So, when we choose bitterness, this is the thing. This is the thing. This is a prison, right? And it has a lock there. Right? And when you are in bitterness, this is you. You’re in there.

But Jesus, who’s out here, he actually has the key. And he’s like, come on. You can do it. You can let it go. Come on. I’m right there. I’m right there, and then the key is right here. The lock is right there. I can just set you free. I’m justified. You don’t know what I’ve been dealing with, Jesus.

This takes us to the book of Exodus. This takes us to the book of Exodus. Chapter 15. So, Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea. Then they went out into the wilderness of Shur. They went three days in the wilderness and found no water. Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore, the name of it was called Marah.

And the people complained against Moses, saying, what shall we drink? So, he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. Then he made a statute and an ordinance for them. And there he tested them and said, if you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought to the Egyptians. For I am Yehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals you.

Then they came to Elim, where there were 12 wells of water and 70 palm trees. So, they camped there by the waters. Now, the word Marah in Hebrew means bitter. And it is a place in the desert. In the desert. This is absolutely prophetic. This is absolutely prophetic.

I’m going to tell you something. Green things don’t grow around bitter people. You sweat. You’re hot. You’re uncomfortable. There’s a lot of death. It’s dry.

You know, you have to recover after you spend a significant amount of time around a bitter person. You have to plan your phone calls to a bitter person.

Well, I have an important meeting at Thursday at 10 o’clock. I cannot talk to you at 9 A.m. No, I do have an opening. I have a window in my schedule there, but preparation time. I cannot talk to you before that meeting, because if I do, that whole meeting is going to tank. I’m not going to be able to clear this. What you left me with in time. I got a structure. Nobody’s there for me. I’m so bitter. Nobody answers my phone calls because you’re so bitter. But here’s the thing. There’s no life in the region of bitter waters. It’s no life, right?

So, if we commit to bitterness in our family and marriage and ministry and house of worship. What do we think we’re going to get? A desert.

I have given you the cactus. If you want to drink water, you will get pricked and prodded and poked, and you may need a Band-Aid afterwards. Ouch. It’s so prickly.

See, if we want death and barrenness in our lives, choose bitter waters. They’ll make you sick. You might die.

See, the people of Israel were journeying with Moses. And after three days through the desert, they started to feel the pain. We need to refresh. We need some sweet water. We need some help. And all they found was bitterness.

You know, some of us don’t even know what it’s like to be around people that are not bitter. Some of us have literally journeyed from one desert of bitterness to the next to the next. We’re famished. We’re literally dying inside.

Like, can I just find some sweet water from somewhere, somehow, someone?

And so, these people were ready to die in three days. Some of you have been in bitterness and marriage for 30 years. What do you think is happening internally?

We’re dissociating, we’re shutting down, and we’re checking out. These people needed a miracle. What did God give them? The tree.

God showed Moses a tree. He put that tree in the waters and the waters became sweet. That tree was Christ.

Now, let me tell you something. I’m not just talking about your problem to make you feel bad. I’m talking about your problem so I can help you put Christ in the middle of that problem. Because this is what they did.

Let me help you solve the problem. We’re going to put Christ in the middle of that.

So, the Bible says in Isaiah chapter 11, verses 1 through 2, there shall come forth a rod from the stem of Jesse and a branch shall grow out of his roots. The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him. The spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. See, that was Jesus Christ.

The Bible says in Revelation chapter 22, verses 1 and 2, and he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. And in the middle of its street and on either side of the river was the tree of life. which bore 12 fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

This is what I’m telling you today. We must put Christ in the midst of our bitter waters. Let me explain something to you. This one is bad. It’s bad. It’s not the right answer. It’s the wrong answer. Every time. I don’t care what happened to you. This is the wrong answer because this is the wrong location.

God called you to be seated in the heavenly places in Christ with Him, but we’ve put ourselves in this sky because we’ve been locked down by the death of bitterness. And it’s time for us to get set free. Now, this is the thing. This is the thing.

When God revealed himself as Yehovah Rapha, it’s in the context of healing bitter waters. It’s in the context of healing bitter waters. When our waters are sweet, when this one gets blocked, you know what the shield of faith does?

It blocks the fiery arrows of the wicked one. Now, the waters that begin to come out of us are sweet. Sweet. They’re healing. They deliver. They deliver.

People can’t connect to you without connecting to God because the river that he put through you is flowing the way it’s supposed to.

So, the heart is at the center of the conflict. This one. Right there. Jeremiah 17, verse 9. It says the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it?

The word translated deceitful means to be deceptive or sly. The word translated desperately wicked means to be weak, sick, or frail. It’s really interesting.

So, the heart is slick, it’s sly, and it can be weak, sick, or frail. I’m going to tell you something.

The heart can establish us in a pit when we do not allow God to heal it and take territory in it.

The heart will produce whatever you program it with. You program the heart with peace, it’ll produce peace in your life. You program the heart with confidence, you’ll be confident everywhere you go. You program the heart with Jesus, you’re going to act like Jesus, even when it doesn’t feel convenient. When you program the heart with bitterness, your waters become toxic, and your output is death. The heart is deceitful.

The problem with the heart is that it is the seat of human intuition, which means whatever the heart is convinced is right is actually in your mind right.

For the fool, everything he does is right in his own eyes. Why? Because if the heart believes in bitterness through justification, when you are acting bitter, maintaining bitterness, and pushing, exporting bitterness everywhere you go, you actually believe you are doing the right thing. I’m doing this because I’m justified.

You hurt me, you hurt me, you hurt me, and I’m bitter. Take it. I’m right.

In fact, the heart can be so deceived that when a person is confronted with truth, they’re offended.

Offense blocks repentance. I can’t hear it. I will use my offense to make an accusation against that source of truth, disqualify it, so I can continue to be right in my own eyes. The heart will process all of that.

So, the thing is, how much poison has the devil put in your heart? That’s going to determine how offended you are at me after this. And if you unsubscribe from our YouTube channel, okay? God saw that.

The Bible says this in Proverbs 23:7, For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Eat and drink, he says to you, but his heart is not with you. The beliefs, the strongholds, the programs of our heart define us. It determines how we will operate and the kind of fruit our lives will bear.

The heart is going to determine whether or not the river of living water that comes from God actually makes its way out into your assignment field.

The heart. And that’s why there’s a whole lot of believers, people that have put their faith in Jesus Christ for their salvation, that are exporting hurt and offense and anger, retaliation, judgment, prickliness. They’re so bitter.

The Bible says, one more time, in John 7.38, he who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart, will flow rivers of living water. If you want this to flow, we got to get the bitterness out. We got to get it out. We actually have to.

All this talk about, oh, we’re going to be partnering with Zion and up in the heavenlies and putting out the commerce of heaven, changing nations.

Every single person that has committed to bitterness, has committed to bitterness, watch this, in their assignment field and marriage has disqualified themselves from that destiny.

If God can’t trust you to deal with that toxic stuff right here, how’s he going to release you to represent him to the nations in a redefining work that’s going to change the world?

We have to get both the ground-level stuff sorted and the high-level stuff sorted. You can’t build a house on a rocky foundation. You got to get a solid foundation under that thing.

And I can hear all the questions. It’s like, what? But, and I know, right? I know. But this is a home-based conversation.

This is not marriage counseling. This is you. I’m not talking about your spouse. I’m talking about You. Do you hold bitterness or do you not? Are you willing to let that go? Everything else can be sorted out in a different conversation. That’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking about this one right here. This one right here. My heart.

I’m going to give you an example of the toxic waters that come out. I’m going to give you an example. God comes to us. He says, all right, listen. You did the wrong thing. You’re wrong. Absolutely wrong. Nothing okay about what you just did. Apologize. I’m not sure I’m hearing that correctly. But I’ll consider it. So, then we go. Lord, I only did that because they did this, Repent, and apologize. Fine.

Then we get to the person. I’ve been in prayer, and the Lord showed me that despite your bad breath and your pride, and the fact that you have no common sense. You know, I’m actually really upset about that still, actually, your lack of common sense. I’m really upset. Okay, You’re a walking embarrassment, and you embarrass me everywhere we go. Gosh, you make me so upset. You’re awful.

Anyway, God told me that I need to forgive you for making me hurt your feelings. You can’t carry the river of living water. It cannot come through that filter. It’s something else coming out of that.

That’s not what that was not the pure flow of living water. I did the wrong thing and I apologize. That’s it. That’s the river of living water.

But the bitterness, man. That’ll take everything and just send it right over the cliff. Now you’re back in a fight. You have to repent for some other stuff because the next 30 minutes with that person are not going to look good.

We have to put Christ in the midst of bitterness. We have to seat Jesus in every desert area of our heart where bitterness has taken root.

Right, we are bitter because we were abused. So, we seek Christ there. We’re bitter because we were unacknowledged. I seek Christ in that one. We’re bitter because we’re the victim of adultery. See Christ in that one. Right? We’re bitter because we’re abandoned. Christ needs to be in that desert. We’re bitter because we didn’t see our prayers answered. Put Jesus on that one as well.

Look, I’m telling you, we are bitter because we get passed over for promotion. Tree of life, come in. We’re bitter because we don’t have an advocate to step up for us. Tree of life, come in. We’re bitter because our body’s been chronically sick for many years. Why haven’t you delivered me of this affliction, God? We’re drowning in disappointment. Tree of life, come in. We just put the tree of life in the midst. We let it go. We let it go. This is where we’re at. Come on.
