Our spirit

It is imperative that a believer know they have a spirit, because every communication of God occurs there.

If the believer does not discern their own spirit, they are regularly ignorant of how to communicate with God in their spirit.

They easily substitute the thoughts or emotions of the soul for the workings of the spirit. So, they limit themselves to the physical realm, and are seldom able to reach the spiritual realm.

1 Corinthians 2:11 speaks of “the spirit of the man which is in him.”

1 Corinthians 5:4 mentions “my spirit.”

Romans 8:16 says “our spirit”

1 Corinthians 14:14 uses “my spirit.”

1 Corinthians 14:32 tells of the “spirits of prophets.”

Proverbs 25:28 refers to “his own spirit.”

Hebrews 12:23 record “the spirits of just men.”

Zechariah 12:1 states that “the Lord … formed the spirit of man within him.”

The above Scripture verses sufficiently prove that we human beings do possess a spirit. This spirit is not synonymous with our soul nor is it the same as the Holy Spirit. We worship God in our spirit.

According to the teaching of the Bible and the experience of believers, our spirit has nine main functions. First love, fear of God, intuition, revelation, worship, hope, faith, revelation, and prayer.  These functions or senses are independent and direct; and are not functions of our soul.

Intuition is the sensing organ of the human spirit. It is so diametrically different from physical senses and soulical senses that it is called intuition.

Intuition involves a direct sensing independent of any outside influence. That knowledge comes to us without any help from the mind, emotion or will and comes intuitively.

We really “know” through our intuition; our mind merely helps us to “understand.”

The revelations of God come through the function of our spirit and all the movements of the Holy Spirit are known to the believer through their spirit.

Worshiping God is through the function of our spirit. The organs of the soul are incompetent to worship God. God is not apprehended by our thoughts, feelings or intentions, for He can only be known directly in our spirits.

Our worship of God and God’s communications with us are directly in the spirit. They take place in “the hidden man of the hear” not in the soul or physical part of us.

Intuition is related to worship in that God is known by us intuitively and reveals His will to the intuition.

We must keep our spirit open to God.

“The Lord your God hardened his spirit” Deut. 2:30

We must keep our heart broken (humble) the opposite is proud, and our spirit contrite (humble).

Ps. 34: 18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit.

We have to keep our spirit right. https://glorytogodministries.site/blog/a-right-spirit-1/

“Put a new and right spirit within me” Ps. 51:10

Our spirit can be grieved or troubled, agitated.

“When Jesus had thus spoken, he was troubled in spirit” John 13:21

Our spirit can be angry, or irritated.

“His spirit was provoked (irritation) within him as he saw that the city was full of idols” Acts 17:16

The Holy spirit bears witness together with our spirit. This is a function of our spirit which manifests in our intuition, revelation, or feelings that our spirit has. The feelings of God flow through our spirit into our soul.

“It is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God” Rom. 8:16

Our spirit is dimensional or can see what is happening in other churches we have started if we are an apostle.

We can have no rest (relaxation of tension) in our spirit.

“If you bless with the spirit” 1 Cor. 14:16

We can ascend into heaven places in our spirit.

Even if our spirit in not born again, it still functions but independent of God.

“He that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly” Prov. 14:29 Darby

“His spirit was hardened” Dan. 5:20

These show us the works of the unregenerated spirit and indicate how similar are its works to those of the soul.

The reason for not mentioning soul but spirit is to reveal what has occurred in the very depth of man.

It reveals how a person’s spirit has become controlled and influenced completely by his soul with the result that it manifests the works of the soul.

The spirit nonetheless still exists because these works come from the spirit. Though ruled by the soul the spirit does not cease to be functioning.

When our spirit is born again it has nine functions.

First love- What is the first love gate? It is the access point between our spirit and God’s Spirit. It is the place of connection between our spirit and God’s Spirit. This gateway is the place where our spirit becomes aware of God’s Spirit as His life flows into it.

It is called first love, because it was the first time our spirit experienced the love of God, flowing into it. This was the time when our spirit was born again; this was the time when the divine uncreated eternal life of God entered it and caused it to come alive to Him. God’s life coming into our spirit caused our spirit to become conscious of God.

First love is experiencing the presence of God, where He becomes more real than our surroundings. First love is experiencing the presence of God in such a way that we are partaking of the nature of it.

In His presence we experience His love for us which passes our ability to comprehend how someone could love us so much. We begin to experience His Joy which surpasses any pleasurable feelings we have known so that we cannot describe it adequately with words.

So, the life of God flows into our spirit at the first love gate. Then the Life of God flows out of our spirit through eight different gateways into our soul. These eight gateways are revelation, intuition, faith, and hope, fear of God, reverence, prayer, and worship.

1-Fear of God – Awestruck, All Knowing, All Seeing, All Powerful, Almighty, Consuming Fire.

2-Reverence -Honor, Respect

3-Worship – Obedience, Surrender, Submission.

4-Prayer -Constant Two-Way Communication.

5-Faith- imparted to our spirt as a substance from hearing God, it is a Knowing.

6-Hope -Visions, Dreams, Seeing Opportunities.

7-Revelation -Inspiration, Light, Counsel, Wisdom.

8-Intuition -Divine Knowledge, Instinct.
