I had an incredible encounter with Jesus, and the Spirit of Understanding gave me incredible insight that I know is going to bless you!
Early in the morning, I was suddenly caught up in an encounter. At first, all I could see were the feet of Jesus—bare, resting upon the foundation of His throne. Then I was before Him, face to face.
He was seated in majesty, clothed in a robe woven with vertical bands of color, hues shimmering like light refracted through crystal. The atmosphere around Him felt alive, radiant yet soft, full of a holiness that made it clear I was kneeling on holy ground.
Before His throne flowed a river of living water, clear as glass and carrying the sound of life itself. I have been here before, but this time was different.
Jesus leaned forward. Instead of inviting me to immerse myself in the river as in encounters past, He scooped up the water with His hands and poured it over my head. Then again. And again. And again. Four pourings exactly.
As He poured the fourth time, He looked into my eyes and said,
“These are the waters from the four rivers of Eden, now flowing as one before My throne.”
Instantly, Scripture illuminated what I was seeing. Genesis 2:10–14 describes a single river flowing from Eden that separates into four heads:
- Pishon — the river of increase and abundance, associated with gold, onyx, and bdellium.
- Gihon — meaning gushing, bursting forth, the river of vitality and life.
- Tigris (Hiddekel) — meaning sharp, swift like an arrow, the river of rapid flow, discernment, and revelation (Daniel 10:4).
- Euphrates — meaning sweet, fruitful, the river connected to covenant and multiplication.
Four rivers. Four heads. Four pourings.
All converging again as one living stream flowing from Him—the Source.
Four is the number of divine order in the earth—four winds, four corners, four living creatures, four gospels. It represents God’s life reaching the whole creation.
And four pourings from four rivers equal twelve—the number of governmental fullness, the number of tribes, the number of apostles, the number of the foundations of New Jerusalem.
After engaging with the Spirit of understanding for interpretation, I realized that what began as four separate streams in Eden has now found fulfillment in Zion’s throne as one eternal river of life (Revelation 22:1).
As He poured these waters over my head, I understood He was cleansing my mind, renewing my authority, healing my vitality and aligning my perception with heaven’s flow. He was not merely washing me, He was anointing the place of governance (the head) with the original waters of divine dominion, the very currents that carried wisdom, vitality, clarity, and fruitfulness in the beginning.
He was baptizing me into oneness, the union of all streams in Himself. He was deepening and solidifying my awareness, perception, and governance. In Him, Eden and Zion meet—the beginning and the end joined in the eternal now of His reign.
I recognized His robe of color as the fullness of His nature, the multifaceted virtues and dimensions of His Spirit woven together. And His bare feet upon the throne reminded me that He reigns not from distance but nearness, as both Sovereign King and High Priest, summoning us to come boldly, and to come higher.
These four rivers are not merely ancient names; they are currents of divine nature—provision, vitality, discernment, and fruitfulness flowing in perfect harmony through the life of the Lamb.
The Invitation to His Body
I believe this encounter reveals not only what Jesus was doing in me, but what He is doing among His sons and daughters in this hour.
The Lord is pouring out the fourfold flow of His Spirit upon His people, restoring right governance to His body. The days of scattered authority and fractured perception are giving way to oneness under Christ’s headship (Colossians 1:18).
Just as Psalm 46:4 declares, “There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,” the Spirit is drawing His Church back into the single, unified flow that comes from the throne of the Lamb.
What began as four rivers in Eden is now the one river of life proceeding from the throne (Revelation 22:1), nourishing the new creation, His people. He is cleansing our perception, restoring our identity, healing our vitality and teaching us to think, move, and reign from the flow of His Spirit rather than performance, legalism, striving or separation.
The waters He poured over my head are the same waters available to all who will behold Him face to face. They are the rivers of God’s unending governance, His Spirit restoring creation to wholeness through union with His Son. It is a summons to govern from the river that never runs dry.
Expect deep encounters with His waters, His throne room, and the vivid radiance of His glory. For the Lord is commissioning His sons and daughters into true governance, and the earth itself is groaning for the mature ones to arise, shine, and take their place (Romans 8:19; Isaiah 60:1). These encounters are not mere experiences, they are divine appointments where the Spirit is restoring vitality, perception, alignment into governance, and baptism into the flow of His throne. -SELAH
